Oakland Cafe

So happy this place is open this semester, I had the chicken and waffles and they were great. Everyone there is wonderful. I’m going to try to come by as often as I can.

I arrived around 10am on a Tuesday. The place was clean and quiet with a few customers. It is unfortunate that there was no outlets for me to charge me phone. The cashier was efficient and polite. I ordered the combo, BBQ pork waffle that includes coleslaw, onion rings and coffee for about $10. The food arrived very quickly and the presentation was on point. The size of the waffle was bigger than my head! The waffle was crispy on the edges and airy on the inside. The pull pork was not dry, it was juicy with a light sweetness. Normally I don't like coleslaw but it was really good. It's a nice change of texture and flavor. The onion rings was perfect, it was crispy and it was a good portion size. I became full really fast. The chef explained to me how he made the waffle and the blueberry sauce which I appreciate. The restroom was very clean and easy to find. I would come back again.

I've gone twice, the first time I went, we got milkshakes. They taste AMAZING. The second time, we got milkshakes and I got a red velvet waffle. Once again, AMAZING but the milkshake cup was much smaller. I hope it was just a mistake because the first time, they were great for the price. The waffle is massive as well.

I very much enjoy the food here, especially the pork stack waffle, who knew srirach gravy could be so wonderful. And I gotta give a shout out to the manager who was on duty when I recently popped in. Miranda V went above and beyond with her duties, she was extremely courteous, she also helped me decide what I wanted (pork stack) and made me feel welcomed. I love the food, but will be back for the service. 10/10 would recommend.

Super impressed with the customer service. This level of service is way out of keeping with my dining experience around college campuses. Impressive. We only had coffee, but the food looked amazing. We were excited to see how busy the place was! It does seem quite popular and such a nice option for staff and students at TWU. Was especially appreciative of the "Pioneers VOTE" cup insulators. Nicely done.

The best customer service you can ask for. All menu items taste great and also include gluten free and vegetarian options.

A great place to study, eat, and chat!! Also, the workers are really kind and helpful!

Great food, exceptional service.

Food was amazing. Tommy was awesome. The cashier though was extremely rude and had an awful attitude. She rolled her eyes at everything we ordered. The only negative thing about it really was her customer service.
