The restaurant is beautifully decorated! There are many paintings on the wall with Italy as the main theme, I guess. The lighting was warm and we can see the food clearly. We had a good time!

Took my younger brother who lives in a nursing home for his birthday. He's in a wheel chair and they gave us the best table for him and everyone to maneuver so he didn't feel uncomfortable. Then I had a cake and candles and they brought it out and our group and a few other tables joined in to sing happy Birthday and this was the happiest I've seen him in over 10 years. Thank you Modo Mio we love you so much, such a great birthday presentation. We will return! Best part is its BYOB!!! For those of you unfamiliar with the term it means you bring your own beer or booze or wine!!! Thanks again everyone for taking time to read my post. We just had the best STEAK ever! Spaghetti was amazing, rolls and salad! It was so delicious! I got a picture before the juice got sopped up! If you have not had the steak and mushrooms you are definitely missing out! Thank you for the awesome meal!!

We originally went down the street to a different restaurant and were amazed at how expensive their items were, so we left and found this charming place instead.

Modo Mios was delicious! We had a baked salmon over spaghetti with a delicious sauce and capers, cheese manicotti with spinach and sauteed mushrooms, cheese ravioli, chicken soup, salads, a supreme pizza, and even ordered a special veggie pizza to take home.

The wait staff was attentive and kind and all the food was made with fresh ingredients.

We will definitely go back again the next time we are in the area. 🙂

Good food, generous portions, friendly staff. A nice alternative to the much more expense options in Krebs.

Lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. We were seated immediately by friendly staff. The restaurant itself is pretty basic in terms of decor (Italian themed but nothing fancy). The food, though! I had a lunch portion of eggplant parmigiana that was incredible. Three flavorful slices of perfectly cooked eggplant on top of a generous helping of spaghetti with marinara and melted cheese - way more than I can eat at lunch (yay, leftovers!). My husband had the baked ziti lunch special - pasta the perfect consistency and a great sauce. Both came with salads. We had Cesar dressing which was tasty but a little over dressed for my taste. The bill was right about $20 so a heck of a bargain.

Update Nov 2023: Well the cleaner smell was back but not as bad as before. Food is delicious as always and service was great!

Update: no strong cleaner smell tonight and the food just keeps getting better. Sauces and bread made from scratch. Love it!

Much better than it has been in a long time. Would give it 5 stars but the super strong pine sol smell and our tiramasu being frozen kinda killed the vibe. But the food was very good.

My husband and I visited this cute little Italian Restaurant because we haven't ever eaten there. Service and staff was great and most importantly the FOOD WAS GREAT. THEY earned a 5star from me.

Me and my boyfriend came to eat, his steak was amazing and I got the shrimp scampi. I’ve never seen him eat so much, plus the food has great flavor and the people were very nice and welcoming .Would definitely recommend.

Best itialian food in mcalester oklahoma. I've been to Pete's place and Rosannas and both of these places can't even touch modo mios. The food here has actual flavor and is actually hot. This place has good bread rolls and service is always great. We got three diffrent dishes and they all had great flavor. They sauces really bring the A game that Is needed in a small town like mcalester. This is were we go when we want great tasting food that is duffrent and affordable. There desserts are amazing as well. Don't waste your time and money at other Italian places and come here for real food that isn't a hype place like the others in town are. Check my other Italian food reviews to ensure I'm just not saying bad things and I've actually been there.

The service was great. We got our drinks right away with rolls and butter. The salads soon followed. My husband ordered the veal parm which was on point and delicious. I got the lunch size pasta combo. We both left with go boxes. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners who are wonderful hard working people. We will be back.

The service was really great. Everyone was super nice and accommodating.

The food was great too. I recommend getting the Chicken Parmigiano. The marinara sauce has a great flavor and it comes with a salad as well, so you’ll definitely get enough to eat.

The fettuccine Alfredo had a great flavor. Maybe don’t get the chicken on it though - it tasted like canned chicken.

The cheese pizza was great too. Super cheesy and had that delicious marinara on it.

I enjoyed my chicken alfredo very creamy and chicken was tener. Son had lobster ravioli said the ravioli itself was a little hard and could have been cooked longer and the pink sauce was delicious when roll was dipped in it. The sweet tea was plenty sweet no overwhelming with sugar. Our server act like she wasn't in it at all. She should smile when she greeting the patrons she did a good job keeping our tea class filled. It was kinda dead for a Friday evening 6:45. The bathroom was clean but so.eone should really clean the entrance hall there were June bugs everywhere at lest 20 dead ones. Parking was easy and to get off and back on Carl Albert road was simple. Over all it was delicious.

This is our favorite place for a special romantic dinner date in McAlester. Food is delicious and the service is awesome. Tiramisu was always my favorite Italian dessert until I tried their limoncello. It's like eating a delicious delicate lemony cloud..

My husband always gets the chicken Parmesan pasta but I'm working through the rest of the menu. We both decided to try the wood oven pizza on our next trip.

We've eaten at Italian places in north Boston, Philly, Chicago and other places and this place can hold its own against those cities.

Loved the atmosphere and the food! We were there for lunch,and had the calamari appetizer, which was cooked perfectly, and a beautiful stromboli, which was also delicious. I had chicken picatta with gluten free pasta; it was very tasty, although I like lots more capers. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the rolls were incredible! (Yes, I had to sneak a bite, even though I'm gluten intolerant.) Good Cabernet, and the beer selection is okay. We'll be back!

Place was very well maintained and we all got very large portions. The rolls and the salad was filling enough. Although I ordered sweet tea and it was sour so I got dr.pepper instead which was great!
