Angel's Diner

Angel's diner was amazing. We had passed it a few times but this time we stopped. Amazing breakfast. Great wait staff. Our waitress was very sassy. Good O' Boy is a must try. The coffee was exceptional. The best I've had in a diner.

We will stop again.

We arrived about 2pm. Promptly greeted and seated. Our server showed immediately and took our order. She told me the the chicken fried steaks were sourced from a local butcher 2 to 3 times a week. I went with that and I was not disappointed. The gravy was endless.

We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and the Frito pie.

We will be back when passing through!

My youngest sister and I loved the fried green tomatoes as our appetizer.. we devoured the pulled pork sandwiches with french fries and sweet tea. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fantastic 😊 The menus were entertaining with dishes named after characters from Happy Days and Andy Griffith.

Angels diner is a neat and nostalgic 1950's style diner. The food is reasonably priced, comparable to a place like Denny's. They serve steak, hamburgers, fries, onion rings, fried okra, chicken fried chicken, various sandwiches, hot wings, and other popular food menu items. For beverages, they have milk shakes, root beer floats, soft drinks, and beer and wines by the glass. In my picture, I had the patty melt and seasoned fries. Service was great. The interior has a long narrow dining room next to the diner table area with a small bar on the end. They do offer T-shirts with the Angel's Diner logo. The WurliTzer "One More Time" juke box is on display, but don't know if it actually is in use or not. It does have a record reel inside that you can see. I did admire the 1950's pink Cadillac in the front of the building. It was cold outside, so I did not look for very long. The music they play inside is from 60 to 75 years old, and may not appeal to some younger people. You can expect songs like "Earth Angel," "Finger Poppin' Time," and "Hound Dog." These songs are nearly 20 years older than I am, but still like them. I would definately come back again. BE SURE TO CHECK THE HOURS THEY ARE OPEN BEFORE YOU START HEADING OVER THERE!

Super friendly, clean, delicious, and reasonably priced. The restroom decoration was amazing.

Big thank you to Brenda and Rachel for their awesome service today we had a large group of 55 and these ladies (and the entire staff) made the whole dining process. Incredible! After enjoying amazing food, and a wonderful dessert we took pictures with all of the fun props around the diner. If you haven’t already, you definitely need to check them out! I really loved the atmosphere their. Never felt out of place the service was wonderful and friendly the food was delicious 🍔😍 I didn't have to wait long for my food. I would recommend when in McAlester Oklahoma come by this place and enjoy. You will not be disappointed

My husband and I finally stopped by Angel's Diner for lunch one day. And it was fantastic. Everyone was nice. The food was great (amazing French fries!)! We will definitely visit again.

Food was really great. Sadly the wait to get our food was really long. Had to play the eye spy game with the family for 45 mins and that still wasn't enough time for our food to get served. But they made it right by giving us a discount. I enjoyed the food greatly. I would go back.

Great variety of items. Really nice brunch menu! It is a classic greasy spoon kind of place where things are hand battered and cooked to order. Chicken fried steak is truly as good as homemade.

Love the atmosphere and the service is polite and efficient.

Would definitely love to come back and try more of the menu items! Be careful of ordering "off menu". Asked for strawberry compote on top of pancakes and got store bought strawberry syrup with 2 strawberries ...which isn't so terribly bad except there was a $2 added cost for it. Ack! Over all, decor is fab and the restrooms very clean.

We are on a little road trip from Dallas to Bentonville. We saw and stopped in for lunch. I tried the chicken fried steak and my wife had a burger. Well, as I remarked to my wife, the chicken fried steak was so tender, probably having been beaten by a hammer as I was taught. The breading was crisp and not overly heavy. A light ladling of excellent cream gravy over the steak and mashed potatoes was a delight. My wife said her burger was very good, but she always by the quality of the french fry. She likes crispy. She said they were very good, very crispy.

The service was impeccable and tables were cleaned promptly after guests left.

Hope this helps if you are on a day trip or outing and desperately looking for a good lunch. Do stop in.

First time ever had a problem. Ordered coffee, got 1/4 cup and full of grounds. Had breakfast with biscuit and gravy. Never got the biscuit and gravy. Will try again as may have been an off day. Hopefully there will be improvement. Have been stopping in there for many years.

Delicious and mouthwatering food! We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area. Our table shared the fried pickles and mozzarella sticks; normally there would be some left, not this time! It was that good, their batter actually has flavor to it unlike a lot of places. I personally got the steak and potato, it was gone within a shear matter of moments as each mouth watering piece disappeared from my plate and melted away. I highly recommend this diner speciality within its classic diner charisma.

Love this place, our go to when we’re in town. Drove 30 minutes out of the way to eat here the other day. Sister loved the theme of the restaurant. I love the food, always great! Service is always great. Brother raves about the chicken fried steak.

We tried their brunch menu on Saturday and it did not disappoint. We had a group and they were very accommodating and we enjoyed the entire experience. Will definitely be doing brunch again. Loved it and recommend.

Cool Diner with great atmosphere. Old time music playing and set up like an old Diner! The catfish was outstanding. I ordered it and after giving hubby a bite he ordered himself a platter. He had the oklahoma onion burger and he said it was superb as well. Definitely on our go to list for dinner in Mcalester now.

We travel for a living and had driven by many times without stopping. Had said many times we should try it. Well we did and loved it! I loved the chili and chicken and dumplings. Now every time we're taking that path, we stop and eat! One of our "must go" places while on the road!

Their food hasn't let me do it. This place is one of my favorite places to go. Thank you all for being so kind. ❤
