Harper Fowlkes House is a lovely and well cared for house. We enjoyed our tour because it was very relaxed and interactive. Our knowledgeable guide did not use the typical script but gave us important information and then talked to us about things we were interested in and answered our questions. We were able to see rooms on the first and second floor, as well as kitchen and storage area in the basement. The back porch is inviting and looks over a lovely area that may be rented for parties and wedding.

Our tour guide, Richard, knew a lot of the history of this home and added newly acquired information currently being researched by students in the local college. He kept his facts clear and opinions in check. I appreciate that part of the tour that shares the more recent findings with the past stories. The house is full of treasures. The days for this house are limited and the tours are on the hour starting at 10:00. Check before you go and don't miss this special home.

Beautiful historic home on Orleans Square designed by Charles Mccluskey in 1840 and preserved by the Society of Cincinnatus. Joan Sumner is an excellent and knowledgeable docent who shares not only the history of the house and it's owners, but also the history of Savannah and Georgia.

$12 per adult, $6 for kids. Tours on the hour. We were the only ones there so we got to ask questions and the tour guide and tons of knowledge and was engaging with our kids. Worth doing to see inside a savannah home (and to get our of the heat). Bathrooms available!
