Great attentive service with Charisma and Mrs. Helen. Came for a bite during luncheon and really enjoyed our meal comprised of the crab cake sandwich and shrimp salad sandwich on croissant. Both were tasty, very well prepared (lightly toasted bun and flaky croissant), and plentiful(chunks of sweet crab and diced shrimp). We shared a side of mac which was ok. Definitely going back.

My family and I went for lunch today and have walked away with a new "must visit" when we travel to Savannah. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. The food was beyond good. Catfish and grits happened to be the special for the day...oh my goodness! I have never tasted grits quite like these. We also ordered a side of macaroni and cheese, which was also good. If you have room for dessert, try the pound cake. You will be so glad you did! Kudos to the chef and entire staff. From entrance to exit, we were pleased.

We returned the next day and had various versions of the Fettuccine Alfredo and The Ben Tucker Classic Burger with various desserts. Everything was phenomenal. Special thanks to Theysia for taking excellent care of us during both visits.

We look forward to visiting again.

Good food. We caught the Sunday brunch gospel live music. Definitely a good vibe. The waitress was a little slow. But everything else was perfect.

My date and I missed our reservation, as we had issues with our hotel booking when we arrived in Savannah. However this restaurant and jazz club made up for all of that. When we arrived we had to go to the main dinning room, rather than the live performance floor; however, we could see the Jazz performance on closed circuit tv, enjoy food so delicious we went back for the gospel brunch in the morning, and be treated to such excellent service Good Times will become our go-to whenever we are in Savannah. In fact we made reservations for December upon leaving.

Listen, I found this black owned establishment in Savannah that knows how to cook. The atmosphere of this place is really beautiful. The server that had was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. They have live jazz music that starts at 8pm, trust me you won’t be disappointed. Everything that I put in my mouth was absolutely delicious and the portions size was more that enough. I highly recommend this place , it will be one my stop every time I visit the area.

Neighbor from Charleston told me about this restaurant so we decided to try it on our way home from Jacksonville. So glad we did! Wonderful Gospel Sunday Brunch by recorded artists. Great food and fantastic atmosphere. Will be back!

I have nothing bad that I can say, the whole experience was definitely a positive one. From the moment we were met at the door and seated, to the waiter and the food. Everything ordered arrived promptly and was delicious. The live band topped everything off and was an unforgettable experience.

In celebration of my birthday, Sunday-August 14, we went to Good Times Jazz Bar and Restaurant for Sunday Brunch. This is my second visit and I was not disappointed. We had a last minute reservation so our party of 5 were not able to sit at the same table but we did sit near each other.
Three of us sat to the bar and at a table for two.

21 and older, must show your ID. When my ID was scanned it made a weird noise and the hostess wished me a happy birthday, so that was nice.

Markeya R. was the live entertainer and she never disappoints. She engages with the audience and I love the variety of songs. Everyone in the room is acknowledged, where are you from? Everyone sings happy birthday to you and any special celebrations are acknowledged.

Now let’s talk about the food. Listen, I was in the mood for a community plate meaning I wanted a little bit of everything-don’t judge me. The chowder was so good!!!! I also ordered shrimp and grits-this dish was flavorful not too salty and perfect temperature. I didn’t eat the biscuits but my family loved them. The bartenders made sure our glasses stayed refilled.

Clean restaurant, friendly service, great entertainment, and good food.

Cozy and fun place to listen to some good jazz and have good food. Their shrimp and grits are LEGIT - it is a huge portion, you could share with another person. I would abstain from the oysters though - I do not know if was only that day, but they were not fresh. Yet, this place is worth the five stars and if you are in Savannah, you MUST go there. The price is great for food and drinks and the music was spectacular. Will come back!

Wonderful place!! I attended the Gospel Brunch this past Sunday and it was awesome! We were treated like family from the time we stepped in the door until we walked out. The performer was superb!! The food was seasoned to perfection and delicious. I had the fried catfish ( I looove that they fry it in cornmeal! there should be no other way) butter beans w/okra, mac and cheese and, candied yams. It was so good I danced in my seat, and to think it couldn't get any better I warmed up my leftovers when I got home and it was still wonderful. Our waitress Theysia was hilarious, kind and warm. She took great care of us. Make yourself a reservation and eat until your heart is content.

This is a gem. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the live music just as much. The first floor is where the band plays and they do charge you a cover charge if you are staying for the music. The second floor has TVs where you can watch the band but they do not charge you. Unfortunately we went on the last night before they close for renovations for a couple of months. If you are looking for a place with good food and good jazz music this is the place. Keep an eye out for their reopening.

First timer. Went for lunch and had their shrimp & grits. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! The best I’ve had ever! Very savory and the bacon in the dish added so much. Highly recommend! Place is very clean and service was great. Plan to go back next time for dinner and a show.

My friend and I really enjoyed our time here last night. The mood was very nice and the food was Amazing. I’m especially happy that the owner decided to embrace the African Culture. The food reminded me of my Grandmother’s cooking. Seasoned just right. I had the Stuffed Sea Bass and my friend had the Crab Cakes. Everything was delicious. The soulful sounds of the Live Jazz band created an amazing vibe. This is definitely a place to visit while in Savannah. Especially nice for couples to enjoy a night out.

OMG… this was the highlight of my trip. Sunday Brunch with my adult niece and nephews at this awesome spot… from the atmosphere to the food, from the service to music.. fed physically and spiritually.. this is one of my “5star+” spots! Let’s just say it’s a spot for everybody… Sunday’s experience with a live gospel/spiritual performance as our delicious meal was staged on white linen table cloths. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were plenty…presentation perfect…those cheesy creamy grits(Georgia ice cream) will make you miss them when you’re gone, and to “rinse”the palette, try the sangrias ( white or red) both were very delicious!
MAKE SURE YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS!

Good Times Jazz Bar & Restaurant is the only club in Savannah featuring top notch jazz music Thursday through Sunday

If you check my profile, you’ll see I’m a full time musician—recently had a Friday night off and treated myself to music at Good Times Jazz Bar & Restaurant.

I arrived just after 9:00 pm, and the venue was full—no room at the bar or a table. The hostess seated me in the small lounge area near the front door where I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and sat until set break when staff kindly let me know there was an open seat at the bar closer to the music.

Teddy Adams and a crew of local and regional players were with him on stage, much of the evening’s performance dedicated to the late, great Duke Ellington.

The music was so enjoyable I stayed until they finished at 11pm.

That single glass of Pinot went well with the evening’s ambiance. I did check out the menu to find three salads that can be prepared vegetarian, and that overall, entree prices were incredibly reasonable—-Shrimp & Grits w/ two sides $24 and Filet Mignon w/ two sides $36.

Because I’m also chatty and curious, I asked the people at the table near me what they were having and if they were enjoying it—they recommended the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Shrimp & Grits and Pan-Roasted Grouper.

For me, it was all about the jazz, which was fantastic. FYI, there’s $20 cover on nights with music.
