I love art museums! This one was in such a lovely setting. I was unfamiliar with the artists but felt like the collection was beautifully selected for the many expressions of the people depicted. It was a good balance of landscape and people. I loved the 15 year old boy dressed as a sheik. His expression was all teenager! The two wall length pictures of the cycle of life were amazing as well. Very enjoyable and just enough to hold my interest for the hour we were there.

Good public art museum. This museum first opened to the public in 1886, creating the foundation for art and cultural education. There presents a celebrated collection of fine art, decorative art and other paintings. If you like art, then this is a very good place to visit.

The architecture of the building is really cool to see and the art was an added bonus. I really liked the self guided audio tour that was available. It made it so that we could do the ribs at our own pace and stay longer/shorter when wanted. Pretty decent deal to get all the if the museums for the price.

This is an extraordinary concentration of local culture and art. There are three Associated museums not very far apart and, best of all, one ticket gets you entry to all 3.
Start with The Telfair Academy at 121 Barnard St. Is one of the oldest public art museums in the South. After the Civil War ended and then Reconstruction efforts (equal rights) fell apart after the Grant presidency, the white upper class took over again and their wealth returned with the help of millions of destitute ex-slaves as labor. Telfair opened during the rebuilding in 1886. It's Regency style is elegant and well proportioned. It was closely linked by architectural style to the historic Owens-Thomas house noted below.
The Owens-Thomas house and slave quarters Is worth the visit even if you have only one that you can choose. We were profoundly and movingly educated about how we use and misuse language related to those who were enslaved, not “slaves” because that condition did not comprise their only identity. Similarly, it's useful to have a better understanding of the connotations carried by similar terms such as “master” and considering whether the word “enslaver” is more appropriate. Food for thought.
The Jepson Center is devoted to contemporary art from around the world, including emerging or new artists from the region.

Great time for the little one. She is almost 2 and I thought she wouldn’t be able to interact much, but she really enjoyed the 2nd floor. Didn’t want to stop drawing.

Small but nice museum featuring a well curated and interesting mix of paintings and statue replicas along with exhibits showing what life would have been like in the mansion back in the day. Nice relaxing experience that can be done pretty quickly and is a great deal if you also visit the Owens Thomas House as the price of admission is included with that ticket.

Beautiful museum, stunning rotunda you have to see in person to behold, many interesting pieces, helpful free audio tour- bring headphones! Noise canceling headphones were perfect, it was a little more crowded than usual because it was a free admission day, but I still got to enjoy everything. There are stairs at main entrance and walkways, but they have elevators and a separate wheelchair accessible entrance available FYI. Admission to this includes two other really worthwhile buildings nearby. Street parking is ample, use the Savannah Parking app to pay for parking and easily extend your time, or there’s some spots with free parking on Sundays. Great location with lots of shopping and food nearby. I loved the room with Savannah artists, and the massive paintings in the rotunda. I’d recommend seeing River Street first, since lots of the Savannah art shows scenes of that area.

The telfair academy is a absolutely beautiful place. Everything in there has been extremely well kept. We took a ghost tour there at night and got to explore the mansion. We unfortunately didn’t get to see any ghosts but the house was awesome. Once you go In the house it’s a lot bigger than you realize. Take some time out of the day to check this place out. You definitely don’t want to miss out. Beautiful artwork inside as well

Lovely little art museum. We came here directly after the Owens-Thomas House, so we were not that interested in the historic preservation sections, having already had our fill, but the galleries are really lovely. Some beautiful pieces of art. This one won't take you too long to go through. The building itself is gorgeous.

Lots of great American art presented in a stylish older home. Make sure you get the three-way ticket, the other two are excellent as well.

Our Girl Scout Troop was provided with a guided tour. The adults were given a separate tour. It was a beautiful place to visit.

Beautiful home and great info on the woman who donated her home. It was a FREE to the public day for locals and you show your I.D. to get in. They also have a handicap entry exit. On the left side of the building and also elevators.

Just like Savannah itself it's not that big but it packs a punch. Beautiful building, the Rotunda room is the highlight with some impressive large works, and the sculpture room has a nice collection with works from several great American artists.

We went to the Owens-Thomas house and it was restored very well. Very interesting. If you go to one of the museums your pass is good for the other two that are right around the corner. Worth the visit.

Nice place for paint lovers, not old painters though, mostly last century. Price is for 3 places, the Academy, the center across the street and another house like 10 minutes away with a guided tour

Love the unique artworks here. The museum is very approachable and the building itself is a masterpiece that conveys stories from the Telfair family. Prepare to spend 1 hour here if you plan to visit Savannah.

This museum is incredible! The $30ish dollar admission fee for 2 people covers this museum and 2 others in Savannah (one is right across the street), which you can go to within a week. It's definitely worth it!
