A vintage marble bench designed by Julian deBruyn Kops donated and dedicated by the Georgia Society of the Colonial Dames of America in 1909.

The historical landmark commemorates James Oglethorpe's establishment of the new settlement of Savannah in February of 1733.

The elegant shape and tile mosaic base incorporate curvaceous lines reflecting the Art Nouveau design of the period.

It's a nice "square", as they call them down here, but was a pick up for Savannah Carriage Tours. Caught a good photo though.
