You will have a little drive to get here but do not let that dissuade you from making a visit. I promise it will all be worth it when you get here.

The people who work here are wonderful and very helpful. Definitely check out their wood fired pizza and the charcuterie plate.

Definitely worth the drive. We enjoyed a fun wine tasting, delicious pizza, the best bottle of sangria wine we have ever had and the people were supper nice. Our best wine tasting experience ever.

Friendly, family oriented, good time. A bit remote, but a great date location.

This winery was once an old school house in "The Big Dry Run" area known to many as Copperhead Road. It is now a beautiful winery with a tasting room, inside and outside tables.

They have a modest menu with a delightful charcuterie board that goes nicely with the wine on an afternoon or evening.

The staff is quite knowledgeable of their wines and very friendly.

The Big Dry Run Red is my favorite dry red wine there.

Outstanding experience, delicious pizza, and wonderful wines. The family owned winery was super busy for the holiday weekend, but the owners went out of their way to be sure to try to accommodate everyone. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of sangria and the pepperoni pizzas were definitely worth the wait! My two sons loved the specialty red, white, and blue pizza and the old schoolhouse photos and pictures. We will certainly be back!

Great staff, great wine, and great pizza!! Today my family discovered this wonderful winery. We loved the atmosphere of the old schoolhouse.
We thoroughly enjoyed our bottle of sangria while we waited for our pizza! The staff was awesome and we even met with the owners, who gave us some background on the cool schoolhouse. I can’t wait to visit again!

We did the wine tasting and the host was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our daughter and boyfriend were visiting so this was a really nice thing to do with them. We had pizza and sangria afterwards served by a friendly and cheerful waitress. A beautiful day, great that the school could be renovated for this business. 2 of us are not really wine drinkers, but we all loved each and every wine. They all had so much character. We all had a lovely time!

Visiting the winery has long been a fun diversion. We love the wine and the location is convenient. Today we ate there for the first time. The flat bread was absolutely delicious. We will be back next week to have it again. YUM!!!

We went here for the sangria and flat bread and also sampled a bunch of their wines. What a great place! We've done wine tastings/tours all over Oregon, California, Washington and who would have thought out favorite wines would be found in Tennessee! We like them so much my wife orders the wines to be shipped to Florida. The atmosphere of the winery was great and the staff was very friendly. It's a trek to get there but totally worth it and when we travel back to TN we will definitely be hitting up Watauga Lake Winery again!

Wine was amazing, and so was the flat bread pizza!
We did wine tasting which is so worth it for the price AND DELICIOUS! 🍷
Barely Noel and Doe Mountain Red are my personal favorites. 💗
The outside seating area made for a nice family conversation and fun while the kiddos played in the yard.

We had a great time here. Wines were much better than expected and the people here are great. John in the dining room i can call a friend after one visit. We were sad to learn Emily was leaving. She and the wines were great.

Bonus was the Valentine special of two personal wood fired pizzas, bottle of sangria and two chocolate dessert cups. Get the port!

Can’t wait to come back.

Delicious wines and extremely friendly and helpful staff. They were kind enough to tell us a little history of the town of Butler (ask if you don’t know), and make some recommendations for dining and shopping. They even called the local museum for us to ensure they would be open if we stopped in. The tasting was well-priced and the wines were very very good!

We had a great experience today at Watauga Lake Winery...everything we tried was exceptional, with personal favorites being the Peach and Blackberry. We had great service from everyone from the time we arrived but a special thank you to Allison for her friendly welcome and all of her help.

During wine pickup only time we stopped in on our way back home from NC to Bristol TN, told the pleasant owner (74 years young man) how I like dry & husband likes sweet - he suggested & sold us 2 (White table wines) bottles that we took home, chilled & has later that evening & next day - they were absolutely wonderful. Look forward to returning for a full tasting.

A little off the beaten path but well worth the drive. Some of the best “local” wines in the area. There are several wineries in the area with great atmosphere and friendly staff but Watauga Lake Winery is on the top of my list. Specials during the week and the weekend serves Wood-Fired Pizza and Sunday there are large flatbreads. I understand that they average 65 to 70 plus pizzas and they only serve from 12:00 to 03:00. Great mix of people are served- repeat locals and first time- by a friendly staff who provide the best service they can. Been there often now that we found it and with the exception of a very limited number of people - from all walks of life - but I’ve heard that there is the occasional “Me First “ who can’t see the big picture, can’t wait ( It’s Not A Fast Food Drive-Thu) and resort to name calling and wining. I’ll be back and be sure to bring my friends.

My wife and I love going to the Watauga Lake winery and Vinyards. The sangria (both red and white) are delicious. Saturday Flatbreads are a must do.

We were fortunate to sample the pre market Champagne recently. We are not generally Champagne fans, but our whole family enjoyed it. Lots of fruity flavors (peach and melon?). Large bubbles and a bit sweeter than normal champagne.
I definitely enjoyed it.

Wonderful winery located in an old schoolhouse. All the staff make you feel at home. Wine tastings are inexpensive and all the wines are delicious. Go on Saturday and enjoy sangria and wood fired pizza.
