Scratch Brick Oven

My daughter, wife, and I ate there for dinner. It is a laid back, relaxed eatery in a converted house. They have added a really cool wood-fired oven and the result produced some really tasty pizza pies for us. My daughter had the cheese pizza and she loved it; she ate most of the single serving pie, only one piece to take home.
My wife and I shared the "Trust". This is a pie that has different regions of taste. They use three different sauces in different areas of the pizza and then add ingredients to each region to have a different taste. It was very, very tasty. Quite unique and it works. Almost every piece is a unique tasting sensation to be enjoyed. We loved it and we will be back.
Note that they do not serve alcohol there.

Omg I haven't had pizza this good in many years!!! We were shown the brick oven and the menu was explained very well. I love the idea of being able to order on specific sheets for the different styles and types of pizza. My daughter loved the pick your own record area. This building looks like a house so be aware you might miss it from the roads.

We had learned about this incredible restaurant from a networking contact in Greenville SC and knew that we would have to give it a try while on our New Years visit with friends in WV on the way home to SC. The restaurant is right off the highway in TN, off I26. Called in a pie on New Year’s Day for a planned pit stop to go. Ordered a Trust Pizza to get the full experience (random toppings). Food was promptly ready but the employees were quite excited to have a ‘tourist’ visit, even let us take pictures with their oven!! Staff were so friendly and super enjoyable to be around, felt like family. The restaurant is an absolutely incredible environment with awesome artwork and music records you can pick to play. The pizza was so darn good we are already planning our next trip up (100 miles lol). All 3 delicious sauces, homemade meats and fresh veggies on topping. my wife and I inhaled this pizza completely. Awesome business model and truly the American dream at its finest. A must visit and you too will become a believer.

Very, very good!!! Cute little place! I don't think it has indoor seating, may be because of Covid, not sure. We sat outside at the picnic tables. Accommodating for people with dogs, offering water bowls for them. I have always heard good things about them, and they did not disappoint!

Such a kool day place. Has their unique way of ordering and choice of ingredients, but fun to do. Pizza always very good. See the dough thrown up in the air, fresh ingredients cut, and real brick oven used. Missed taking turn putting on your choice of hundreds of old albums, as were told the shelves are being rebuilt and will return soon. Drinks limited to bottled sodas and tea for $2 each or bottled water for $1. My family always has fun there. Will go back forever!

Best pizza in Johnson City. They have the best pepperoni! The Chicago pizza is so much bigger than we thought.

Scratch Brick Oven does the best pizza in the region based on my experience, and, in all honesty, some of the best pizza I've ever had in my US travels. Although, I'm sure some of it falls to individual preference. ;)

They get the dough just right where it's substantial with a little bit of chew, but without feeling too dense or gummy. All their toppings are high quality and the people who build the pizzas are masters of flavor combos. I'm never disappointed in a full or partial trust pizza. If you've somehow slept on Scratch then you need to fix that!

The food was amazing. Ordered the Trust Pizza and it blew my mind to the darkside of the moon. Staff was accommodating, welcoming, and all around wonderful.

I don't give many 5 stars but this place is really deserving of it. Now if I was rating it on the ample parking place or the latest decor, well, it would be lacking, but the food more then made up.

Great pizza. Tried the "Trust" pizza, meaning you trust them with the toppings they put on. It was really delicious. The crust was like New York style, chewy and crispy. Brick oven goodness!. Definitely will go again and again. Recommend highly 👌

This was the best pizza I have ever had by far. And the atmosphere was so unique. Very nice relaxing all the way down to the music that was being played on a record player and customers could choose. So cool. I loved every aspect of it. The gentleman that works there even took us to show where the pizzas were made and how the brick oven works. Highly recommend you stop in if you are in the area

Cannot applaud this pizza joint enough! Super laid back atmosphere and BYOB service for a small fee. The pizza is out of this world good. Do not hesitate because you can get garbage pizza cheaper elsewhere. AND they make the sausages! Love this place and I'll be back every time I'm in Johnson City.

As someone who was raised on real pizza in New York, Jersey, and Pennsylvania, it's extremely difficult to find a proper pizza made with good ingredients and fired in a proper brick oven. These folks use quality toppings and cook in a beautiful homemade brick and river rock oven. The result is a delicious pie that will only continue to get better over the years as the oven continues to season. Anyone complaining about slightly charred edges has no idea what goes into making pizza this way and the skill required to cook the pizza evenly. I love this place. I only wish it were less than an hour from home. Nonetheless, I will be returning frequently.

Great pizza, fun little place. They've got a bunch of records you can play for entertainment. I got a Trust pizza; decided to let them decide for me and they didn't disappoint. Pizza prices are reasonable, $11 for a 10" personal. Sodas are $2 each and water bottles $1 each. BYOB policy but they seem to charge $3/bottle based on the sign so kinda high there. Would recommend though

My first time here, someone else took my pizza and ate it, and these guys remade my pizza And gave me the pizza the other people were supposed to have.

Nice people work here, and they're patient when you get confused about the ordering process. It's similar to Which Which's ordering process. You can get a lot of toppings for reasonable prices! I'll be back for more.

Best pizza in the Tri-Cities hands down! Get the “trust pizza” and let the staff pick your sauce and toppings; you won’t be disappointed. Although our favorite of the green curry sauce. 😍 There are so many varieties of toppings! I’m not entirely sure if it’s true but I’ve heard their pepperoni is handmade and cured in-house. Call ahead to order though if you are in a rush, this pizza is an art and art can not be rushed.

I travel from Bristol, Va for this pizza whenever I can. Some people put their phone in the backseat to resist the urge mess with it, and I've learned that the backseat is the safest place for this pizza if anyone else is to get any when I make it home. Best pizza I've ever had.

Best pizza I have ever had, hand down! This was a Yelp find and boy did it do its job. I had the green curry sauce and trusted them to do the rest (I am vegetarian). My wife had the red sauce and meat and loved hers to. We both agreed it was the best pizza we've ever had and we are knocking on the door to 40. We live out of town but would come back just for this pizza! If you don't know, you NEED to know. :)

Best pizza I've eaten in a very log time. Perfect crust and quality toppings. Interesting atmosphere too where they have records you can choose and play. Almost turned around when we pulled up because it looked odd, but glad we didn't. It was excellent.
