I was a patient at Promise Hospital for approximately 2 months. I absolutely loved this entire facility. Its staff, building and grounds. Everything is designed to lift the spirits as well as the health of the patient. They have a zen Garden in the hospital that I would go out of my way to see everyday when I got up because I like to start my day with beauty to keep my spirit and attitude positive. They have beautiful art everywhere that are professionally framed which also lifted my spirits. The staff was the most cohesive staff I have ever experienced. I have been paralyzed for 38 years now and have seen many hospitals and rehabs and LTAC's and experienced all levels if staff. I was most impressed at Promise because the nurses were not hung up on the hierarchy of their duties. If a nurse was in my room and I needed repositioning, or urine emptied or whatever it may be instead of saying that's a CNA job I will have them come help you they just jumped right in and got it done. Everyone was focused on doing what was right for the patient and they all helped each other out accordingly. Other nurses would come help me if my IV alarm was ringing even though I was not their patient. The CEO of the hospital even came in and helped reposition me one time when he was walking by and saw my call light on. That was the first time in 38 years of medical care that a CEO has ever helped do something like that. I think that speaks volumes to the atmosphere and philosophy that Promise has. I never wanted to leave. If insurance would have paid until my wounds were totally healed I would have chosen to stay there until then. They are so efficient at everything they do it feels a bit like watching a NASCAR pit crew. Everything is a well oiled machine at Promise. So much so it will ruin you for other facilities. I got sent to a rehab right after Promise and if I could have physically ran away and back to promise I would have. When you see for two months how things are supposed to be done you begin expecting that and trusting that you are safe and well taken care of. The first two days at the new facility nobody could give me a straight answer on who was going to help me with colostomy changes as I was trying to prepare ahead of time. They did not have the right supplies at the new hospital and I ended up changing everything myself. I asked a nurse at the new facility to reposition me and she said I can't right now I am passing meds I will get the CNA, in fact just push your call light and the CNA will come. In two months at Promise that never happened except with one nurse one time and she was a PRN nurse and not one of the regular ones. At promise it's about making sure you are healing and all the staff does whatever is necessary to move things in that direction. They have the best woundcare team I have ever worked with. The hospital that sent me to Promise told me I was going to die from my wounds. So much so that I began notifying family and friends. I got to Promise and after evaluating all the information and seeing my wounds they said you are not going to die from these wounds. We have healed much worse. And they were right they did exactly what they said they could do and what they already knew they could do. I loved their confidence based on their experience. They knew when and how to trick my body into healing at a high rate. From the top down Promise is the best hospital I have ever been to and I wish the entire industry would hold themselves to such high standards. It is so disappointing to go somewhere else and see and feel how far short that other facilities are from the standards I got accustomed to for 2 months. I loved my time at Promise and wished I never had to leave. I have never felt that way about a hospital in my entire life. They earned this review as I have high standards and rarely feel people have done everything necessary to get such a review. But, when credit is due then it should be given. Promise has much to be proud of.

Our family wanted to publicly thank the administration and entire staff of the Promise Hospital for the outstanding care that they provided to our adult son over a period of 4 months. He was admitted to Promise to recover from very serious pressure sores (Stage 4) and surgery. He has been quadriplegic for 16 years with a spinal cord injury of C-7 so his movement is very restricted. During the 4 months while he was at Promise my wife and I and our son, were deeply appreciative of the CEO, the case manager, nutritionist, the wound care team, entire nursing staff and PT specialist for the compassionate, competent, personable and loving care that he received. We were all treated like family and became friends with many of the staff and hope to keep in touch with them for many years. While additional rehabilitation is still needed, our son has the foundation to rebuild and actually improve the quality of his life, largely from the care he received from Promise. We will always be grateful to Promise and plan to remain friends for life.

We wanted to share our father’s experience at KPC promise hospital.
When leaving the icu we were told he would not survive these injuries. Dad stayed at KMC for 28 day and was able to survive with help from the amazing team. The wound team was so amazing and cared for him as if he was family. Taking every precaution to make sure dad was not at risk from infection or contamination (Abe, Rock and Lisa we can’t thank you enough for your care and support)
The nurses were top notch and always there within seconds to accommodate everything dad needed. Nurses were very knowledgeable polite and professional.
We had a chance to read all the reviews for KMC Promise prior to dad being excepted and had our concerns.
KMC Promise Hospital helped save our Dads life and brought him hope for his future. We will be forever grateful to the KMC team!

My husband was involved in a accident when a distracted driver hit him with his truck while he was on the road setting up a job site for a contractor who requested services for their traffic control. My husband was hit and thrown causing a very traumatic brain injury and it would forever change my family’s life!! My husband was in a coma for two weeks, when he woke up he was too weak to be admitted to neuro therapy so we were recommended 2 different LTAC (long term acute rehab) hospitals that would help and assist in getting him to be better enough to get his trach removed and also to get help from speech therapy to help with speech and swallowing test so he could have his feeding tube removed. I did virtual tours of both facilities and of course I read all the reviews and that is exactly why I’m writing this review. If you ever are faced with this very unfortunate and unforeseen predicament of having to choose a hospital for acute care. I will be rating each department separately. The visiting hours are from 11am-8pm and visitors need to be 18+. My husband miss our children so much and would anyone who would come in his room that he can’t wait to leave so he can go home to our kids. Everyone would remind my husband that he needed to stay safe and work hard so he could go home to our kids. They were all so kind to him.
Nurses(5/5)
The nurses here were so professional. I’m not looking to have a good relationship with any of the nurses. I wanted to see that they were competent and worked well under pressure. I had many questions about my husbands condition. The nurses talked me through each question and didn’t mind that I had a million questions. They were very patient with my husband. My husband often pulled his trach out and also his feeding tube. They reassured me that it was normal because he was in the waking up phase and was very confused. I often worried about staff being patient with a big guy like my husband. I saw how efficient and professional they were. They repeatedly reminded my husband that his safety was the most important thing. My husband had to restrained and I saw them check his wrists several times daily for skin breakdown. I got reading material reading what stage my husband was at in his recovery and that was very helpful. When I called all hours of the night I was always given updates and encouraged to call anytime. We had the best nurses!!
PT/OT (6/5)
Yes, they definitely get an extra star! PT was the best part of our stay. They were on top of their care. My husband loved Jeremy and Shanlan. They played such a vital part of my husbands ability to be able to move to the neuro rehab in such a timely manner. All of the staff were great but I got to take part in helping sometimes and they would give me exercises to work with my husband because they only worked Mon-Fri but I helped my love on the weekends. They understood his limitations but helped him to see his potential and gave him the confidence to push through. Thanks ot/pt
Respiratory (5/5)
Respiratory came in and didn’t waste time. They are the reasons that his trach is out. His wound closed pretty quickly. Amazing how the body heals. They were always checking in and making sure he sounded good and always there asking if there was anything we needed!
CNA/Tech (4/5)
We had a positive experience with most of the techs with the exception of the techs that came in smelling like cigarettes. I understand everyone is entitled to doing what they want on their breaks but maybe air out a bit more. My husband asked me to ask if the CNA who smoked can not come back because he couldn’t handle the smell. My husband was always changed in a timely manner. This facility was well staffed. The facility was clean and my husbands room was cleaned daily. That’s always something I take notice to and I was pleasantly satisfied with how well kept this facility is. The have a beautiful garden that I often visited just for a moment to myself. It was all in all a great experience. I would recommend KPC Promise Hospital! Thanks for taking great care of my husband!

The wound care team at promise were one of the best and helping me heal my flap. Lisa and Rock were very professional and attentive in helping me in the process of healing. Overall the entire CNA and nursing staff were very kind and courteous to me making my stay at promise very comfortable.

I was on a ventilator when I was moved from ICU to promise. I couldn't talk, I couldn't move. The nursing and respiratory staff gave me my life back. They cleaned me up every time I had bowel and urinary issues, the took care of turning me so I didn't get bedsores. I was weaned off the ventilator, taught to swallow, speak and had my tracheotomy removed. I couldn't have received better care. I have never seen more dedicated hard working people. The occupational therapy and physical therapy staff gave me every support possible to get me back on my feet. I highly recommend recommend promise for any one needing acute care recovery.

I say with 100% certainty this hospital and their staff saved me from a double amputation. I had a difficult to diagnose and treat disease and they managed to do in three months what other doctors and wound care couldn’t do in nine months. The staff are kind and professional (yet fun and outgoing) and I don’t think I met a person with less than 5 years experience or that had worked thee fewer than 5 years. Turnover seems very low. They were more sensitive to my panic disorder during treatments than any other doctor has been. They were also VERY careful regarding cross contamination during the COVID-19 outbreak and made sure any deliveries I got were handled in a safe way. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and their skills. They truly made a very difficult long illness bearable. I’m not completely healed yet but my surgeon says my progress is excellent, and I owe it all to KPC/Promise.

My dad is currently a patient here. This is his 5th facility in 7 months due to his complicated health status. By far the best care, clean rooms, good food compared to some awful experiences he had at other hospitals and care centers. They have pretty good visitor rules even with covid. It's nice to know that even though the staff is overworked and underpaid (my opinion) they still have great compassion.

My fiancé stayed at KPC Promise almost 2 months and as his fiancé and all our family we are very appreciated and feel blessed that we have an opportunity to recieve the care here.
All the teams are going above of our expectations and maintain him in a very best care before he could go to his brain surgery in 2 weeks. We feel very lucky that we found the Promise LTAC. I could say this is the best LTAC among the 3 LTAC currently available in Utah since we did experienced at the other LTAC today.

I was impressed with the medical care including physicians, nurse, PT, OT and RT. Especially they have an additional very important team called wound care. And they made their best connections to discuss with nurse and PT after they feel safe on his skin before doing any therapy sessions.
My fiancé did woke up before a date that we have to move due to insurance policy and not waiting until I known, Noel who was his RT, ran to me to express how happy she observed that my fiancé woke up.

I could remember all of their staffs there. I feel that this team including Noel, Sharyleen, Kotten, Trina, Cheryl, Austin, Kelly, Patrick, Tuba, more and more good staffs there that really care and always listen to our sides.
Tommy who is his case manager, also a very care and fast response everytime we have a concern or anytime that we need a discussion.
They made a very complete good team from admission to medical department .

Promise has a lot to offer in care for a loved one. When placed with the decision to choose a hospital, having everything a normal hospital has to offer and more, is essential. We had to make the decision to place my family member in Promise after looking at the other options our state had to offer. One reason we chose Promise was because they are a hospital inside of another hospital. This gave us peace of mind if the health of our loved one were to deteriorate. Staff was caring and attentive. Definitely recommended if your family member is in need of their services.

My father was in the ICU for 3 weeks. While he was in the ICU he had a tracheotomy and was heavily sedated. Prior to release admissions at Promise informed me the goal was 21 days to remove the tracheotomy. This was a relief. I honestly prayed he would have it removed asap. When we arrived it took my father about 4 days to completely come off sedation. Not long after his trach was removed. He was at Promise for 3 weeks with full recovery!! Thank you to this team for caring and making him come back to life. They have some exceptional nurses, physical therapist, and case managers.

I have worked at Promise Hospital as a RN for nearly 12 years, so I thought I would share a few thoughts. I provide direct patient care, work as a charge nurse and as the education coordinator for Promise Hospital of SLC. The culture here is amazing. We definitely work as a team and there are some of the most compassionate people here that I have ever met. Our patients have been through a lot before they even come to us. It's a privilege to be chosen to help them through the next steps of their recovery process.

I truly believe what our corporate CEO Peter Baronoff states on our website and the context sticks with me so I can provide the best care possible even on the most difficult days. He says, "The name Promise holds us to a standard. It means we will do everything to make sure you or your loved one is receiving the highest quality care in the most compassionate way possible."

Running a hospital is tuff, its complex and we've grown and changed a lot as a Hospital over the years I've worked here. And I think for the better. As a whole, we really do strive for excellence. We truly try to look at our processes, our weaknesses both individually and as a whole to improve on them. We try to always keep the patients and their families at the top of our priority list.

I can honestly say, I love being part of this team. Promise is a fantastic place to work and a place I would bring my own family for medical care if necessary.

We chose Promise Hospital because my mother has a lung condition and a heart condition, and she was in need of a higher level of LTAC care. For the first time since my mother was hospitalized and on the ventilator, she was able to relax and enjoy the quiet, peaceful, clean environment at Promise. My mother started smiling and participating when members of her nursing, respiratory, and therapy team came to work with her. Most important, my mother's oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and heart rate were stable. This allowed us to identify the real problems and determine her level of rehabilitation. I recommend Promise Hospital for LTAC because during my mother's stay, I knew I could trust Promise with her care when I wasn't able to be there with her. Thank you Promise Hospital, for your tireless efforts and 24 hour care.

I have worked just shy of 10 years for Promise from CNA to House Supervisor. I stay here because the staff is like a family that works together with great teamwork to achieve our goal of excellent care. We have all the resources of a big hospital by being inside LDS but being a smaller hospital we really get to know our patients and we all get vested in their care and outcome.

Everyone takes great pride in caring for the patients and family members. The teamwork and compassion I encounter daily at work is above and beyond.

We had my Grandma here for awhile after she almost didn't pull through a number of surgeries. The staff here was amazing and even the CEO would come visit my Grandma's room everyday. Even had fresh flowers broight in for her.

Great physicians and nursing staff, especially for wound care. We were very pleased.

If your loved one has been hospitalized and needs Long Term Acute Care, I would strongly recommend that you choose Promise Hospital. I found the Nursing/Respiratory team to be compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional. The Rehab team is especially gifted in motivating and encouraging your loved one to build their strength back. Promise is located inside LDS Hospital, which gives your loved one access to onsite laboratory, imaging, infusion therapy, operating room and the backing of a robust hospital system should your patient need escalation of care.

Promise is such a great company, it really has a great atmosphere and feeling to it as you walk down the halls. The employees are all very close and professional, have fun and enjoy their jobs. The management is very attentive to patient, family, and employee needs. Very high quality respiratory, wound care, and med complex management. Highly qualified and attentive MD's and NP's who are in house and always on call after hours. Promise is a hospital within a hospital, having a Med-Surgical and ICU, has full access to LDS Hospital for tests, dialysis, and emergency services. There is a great Palliative Care MD who spends great amount of time in full detail evaluating and consulting on patients, and if needed or requested, provides a great Palliative and/or Hospice care. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone out there requiring complex cares who are ready to work hard to get back to life or who have felt they have not been helped elsewhere.
