Fern In The Wild

3 generations of women in our family went to Fern in the Wild yesterday for a mom and daughter birthday lunch. It was our first time for most of the group. We had Jessica service our table and my goodness she was outstanding! So patient, relatable, kind, and attentive! We overstayed our welcome when we lost track of time telling stories yet we didn’t even feel like that we were in the way!! The food is scrumptious!! The chicken salad sandwhich was so good! And the fern bowl too (my mom said) and the grill cheese and tomato soup was great! I do recommend the butter cake desert !! (forgot the name) it really is an amazing place to eat and visit! They even have a decent sized boutique next door but same building while you wait for a table! Such a good experience. The staff in themselves are so sweet and caring!

Had a lunch date with friends today. It was my first time to visit after seeing it so many times on Instagram. It is the cutest! I love the colors and decorations inside. Great layout for seating and bar. Great food, cocktail, and coffee menu. I ordered Graham's Caesar salad with shrimp, and a pomegranate martini and we shared the chocolate cake for dessert. Can't wait to go back again! I

Some friends told us about this place; their excitement about the menu, the ambiance, and the service piqued our interest. Their description just scratched the surface of how cool and good this place is.

We had chicken croquettes and waygu carpaccio for appetizer. What a great way to start. The coolness of the carpaccio mixed so well with the spiciness of the chicken croquettes. I should have licked the plate.
Our mains were Shrimp and Grits and osso bucco. Oh. My. Goodness!! The meat was falling off the osso bucco and was perfectly prepared. The shrimp and grits was a touch spicy, but was the best I've ever had.
Finally, we ended with an apple tart and chocolate cake. Sooo good!!
The food was great, but they were gearing up for their fall menu and didn't have a couple of items we were looking forward to.
After dinner, there's a really cool and eclectic bar to hang out with friends after an awesome meal. Lots of attention to detail and a really cool vibe to enjoy a Weller pour, a sweet or sour martini, or one of their signature cocktails.

Can't wait to go back to see what they offer for fall/winter. Ask for Nathaniel - he's awesome!

We ate here a few weeks ago. The food was delicious and the ambiance was pretty, but the best part was the staff! They were so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our meal!

Great gift store and cafe. The food and service were very good. My favorite was the tomato soup (vegetarian) / grilled cheese. They go heavy on the butter and cheese - just like it should be. The prickly pear lemonade was surprisingly good. Loved it. This is a fairly expensive restaurant, but the atmosphere is nice and not overcrowded. That is especially nice. You won't be wedged up against the next table.

I wanted breakfast but we were too late so we opted for the Fern in the Wild due to its high ratings. Well it did not disappoint! We had the Chicken salad Sandwich and the Artichoke dip. Wow!! Fresh, homemade and delicious! The chips that came with the sandwich were paper thin and freshly fried. NOT greasy but perfect!! There is too much to say about this place, the atmosphere and the town in small town USA to mention in a post! I encourage anyone who is visiting the Dallas area and looking for a cool and Immersion experience to stop here. WOW!!!

This was the perfect stop after a trip through bluebonnet country. I could have lived off the hummus and fries!

Me and my coworkers love this place! My first time going was at my coworker's retirement party and the food was so great that i went back that same week by myself. While there I received great service from Kelsey and the owner always stop and check on us. Also, it has the best steak sandwich I've ever had.

What a treat in downtown Ennis! We stopped here for lunch on our way to Dallas and were pleasantly surprised by this upscaled restaurant and adjacent gift shop. High ceilings and huge windows make the space airy and light. The menu is simple, with great unusual and healthy choices, food itself is excellent! We loved everything that we ordered: Beet salad with creamy goat cheese and arugula, Scallops with cauliflower purée, Stake sandwich, and Avocado toast. Everything was well presented, fresh and tasty. Great job, Chef Eric! The staff is super friendly and very welcoming! Cael took great care of us, was very helpful and attentive. We are definitely coming back, it’s our new favorite place between Dallas and Houston

My husband heard good things about this place and really wanted to do a date night here. I was skeptical to try something new because we haven’t had great restaurant experiences lately, but I reluctantly went along with it. In the 12 years we have lived in this area, this is the best restaurant we have been to. The atmosphere was gorgeous and the food was absolutely incredible. I ordered the Wagyu sandwich and the beef was cooked perfectly. It was one of the most delicious things I ever ate (we’ve travelled the world and have eaten plenty of great food, too!). My husband ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and it was also delicious. This place is only 15 minutes from us in Waxahachie , which is awesome. If you enjoy the ambiance and quality of an upscale Dallas restaurant, you will love this place and will be thrilled to avoid the 45 minute hike to the big city to enjoy an excellent meal.

I'm tempted to drive to Ennis every weekend. My friend and I enjoyed our lunch intensely. The chicken salad was delicious, and the purple and white homemade chips were so good on the side, my friend ordered an extra side order. The margarita was perfection, as was service. The atmosphere is one of total comfort, and you really feel welcome. The prices are extremely fair.

We loved this place. Huge surprise on the way to Dallas for us. Very high quality establishment in downtown Ennis.
Food was phenomenal and Chef Eric came out to talk to us.
This will be a regular stop for us.

I just love this place. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the Quail appetizer , the Risotto and the Salmon. Their specialized cocktails are very nice. I will recommend this place all day long.

Super cute restaurant. The service was on point, the drinks were good and the food was very tasty. They also list the local places they source their food from, which is awesome! I try to eat as local as possible and Fern In the Wild achieves that. Highly recommend.

We were in town for TX2K and this was our lunch spot of choice for multiple days, by far one of the best meals and drinks ive had in a long time and our entire company loved it. We tried majority of the menu and everything was a 10/10. The staff was awesome and accommodating. Bonus points for their speakeasy bar they have upstairs for later in the day. Best espresso martinis

Fern In The Wild is an absolutely beautiful Cafe. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS! And the staff...such amazing and kind people. I am grateful this place is in our small town. Everyone should go and enjoy a meal. Oh and if you want the absolute best smelling detergent...get the Diva detergent at the shop.

This was a delightful experience from start to finish. This restaurant is a treat for the eyes … bright, modern, open - gorgeous! Our server Cael was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu, and was a pleasant addition to our evening … in fact each person we met of the staff was absolutely top notch and they obviously love what they do. The food was perfect, we had pork tenderloin with turnips and potatoes, topped off with the exquisite chocolate cake. It was a great evening and we intend to repeat it often.

It is just the loveliest place to have brunch!!! Highly recommend!!!
