Pioneer Cafe

Great restaurant and atmosphere, awesome staff, and delicious food. What more could you ask for. I had the Pioneer Fries and it was hot and very delicious, so delicious in fact I went to Walmart so I could try and copy the recipe. This has become my new to-go place for food in Sulphur Springs. The only thing that threw me off is they told me to seat myself haha

We were in Sulphur Springs on business and decided to grab an early lunch before the 45 minute drive home. Sure are glad we chose Pioneer Cafe. Super clean, the best waitstaff and the food was delicious. I had probably the best Reuben Sandwich I’ve had in a very, very long time. Plentiful corned beef, cheese, sauerkraut and house made dressing and the bread was buttery and grilled perfectly. My husband had a lunch plate with CFS, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and a roll. We shared bread pudding and brought half home *along with half my sandwich). We will definitely go back! Ask for Joanne- she’s a great server!

This is the best fried catfish I’ve eaten! It has such a wonderful crispy batter. Fried to perfection. The homemade cut French fries were perfect too. Served with some sweet slaw and hush puppies. The waitress was very sweet and friendly. What are you waiting for? Go get some of this homemade grub!!

I had a plate that had a biscuit eggs gravy sausage and hash browns all piled together. I can't remember what it was called, but it was so delicious. I only ordered the half order and it was plenty I was full. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes some real home cooked comfort food.

Had chicken and dressing, turnip greens, and fried okra. Wife had chicken and dressing with sweet potato casserole. The most delicious meal I have had in a restaurant. This is a must visit place.

Wonderful place. Attended with the church group. Loved the chicken and dressing- we will be back.

Chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and fried okra: this was enough food for a hungry cowboy, but I managed to clean my plate!! Shared a serving of bread pudding with a friend, oh my, it was beyond delicious!!!

Always great food. Just like my mother would do. Plus the decor is great. Love the cow hide hanging on the wall.

Passing thru I found this charming restaurant offering freshly home cooked breakfast and lunch. Awesome display of memorabilia. The 1824 flag is the Alamo flag.

First time here. Everything is made from scratch. They even have corned beef hash on the menu.
They're open Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm. We will definitely be back.

Although we were too late for breakfast, lunch was very good! Eight in our party, all the orders were correct, and everyone was happy with what they got. The chicken fried steak was good, but the mustard greens and pinto beans were awesome! We shared a bread pudding that was big enough everyone got more than one bite.

Sulphur Springs is a delightful city. The Pioneer Cafe's food was excellent. Their mesquite griiled chicken is the bomb! The building is a beautiful old building with a tin ceiling and crown molding.

This place is amazing! A friend told us about this place so we made the 30+ minute drive to try it out. A true country Cafe, from the decor to the music and especially the food! It was delicious!!! $66 plus tip for 4 of us. But worth every bite!

The Hopkins County Historical Society recommended the Pioneer Cafe for lunch, and I'm glad they did. It was wonderful! The chicken fried steak was delicious! So glad we made the stop!

This is an excellent spot and well worth the drive into town. The servers very friendly and helpful for a newbie like me. I got chicken fried steak and it was quite tasty.
