What a great place! Absolute must no matter the dog you have. Big dog area, small dog area and even separate areas for those dogs that prefer to be separate.

Now that the holes in the fence are blocked off it is close to perfect. It is a place for dogs AND people. It has the best conversation in town in the covered seating area for humans. It has plenty of room to run in separate areas for dogs under/over 40 pounds. Both sides have a brick pathway all the way around along the fence to walk on. It has lighting until 9 pm. It has convenient water on both sides, with an additional spot for washing off dogs that rolled in the dirt. Poop bags are provided with a garbage drop on the way out. Parking is right there and plenty of it, unless there is a baseball game going on.

Only two small wishes. I wish the grass was better maintained, it needs more grass seed. And a couple more shade trees on the little dog side because the two plum trees have a neurotoxin in the pits, which sickens the dogs in fruit season. The rotting fallen plums attract bees that sting the dogs. We do our best to pick them up but there are thousands(really).

That said, it is still a great place! Whoever designed this place did a great job. Unlike other towns the Bark Park Dog Park is open to all, there is no key pad to keep out of towners out. There are a few common sense rules, mostly for the safety of the dogs posted by the entrance. Very welcoming!

Excellent mid-sized dog park in a great neighborhood. There are two separate sections for dogs over/under 40lbs, with the over 40lbs section being a bit more adventurous. There was a good amount of dogs there on Saturday afternoon, but not overcrowded. Will definitely come back again!

Great place! The fences are secure and areas that were previously troubling are now repaired. There is good running water, plenty of room for dogs (on both the small dog and large dog side), and plenty of seating and room for people too.

And importantly, the grass is cut nice and short and there aren't any areas for dogs to "get in trouble" in... When you go to a place with longer grass or more heavily wooded areas you have to worry about the dog picking up ticks, but this place seems low-risk.

Makes me wish I lived in Ridgefield!

This is such a nice dog park for locals in the area! It's very clean, and all the people and dogs are very friendly. There are 4 fenced in areas for the dogs to play in. There are water bowls, leash holders, and benches for both the owners' and pets' comfort.

Great idea! Now we can bring our dogs to poop, peep & and play somewhere else instead of walking them on dangerous roads to poop & peep right in front of neighbors' houses & on their turf.

I miss the dog park in the winter months. Great people and support from dog lovers. I wish I had my friends now as my Lil Encore (5 months after Dx Lymphoma) is with me visiting my adult children for the holidays. She is declining. Her face blew up apparently from the tumors leaning on something preventing drainage. She stopped eating and drinking today. I doubt she’ll hang on til our flight back home at the end of the month. I am glad she’s with us during our holiday visit, but whether we are home or here, it is difficult to manage decisions.

Any words of comfort? Suggestions?

My other dog, Aries, says hi to you all. He comes to our dog park more for the people than for the other canines.

Love and Happy 2020,
Looking forward to seeing you again,
Suzanne

Separate areas for large vs small dogs. Plenty of room to run. Most dogs are good citizens. Rare to see an aggressive dog. A lot of upscale and rare breeds show up,. Clear posted rules and covid precautions.

Good sized fenced dog park, open to the public, don't need to be a resident of Ridgefield or CT. Separate small and large dog areas.

Great large fenced in dog park with two separate areas - one for small dogs, one for large. My husky loves it here.

This is the best dog park around. Secure fences, nice mulch, and separated into perfectly sized areas. Highly recommend this one!

Best dog park in the area! Love that it’s fenced in and there are two sections between big dogs and small dogs. Probably the safest park in the area!
