Clarion Inn & Suites Dothan South

I came here because I stayed in one in Orlando recently and loved it… this location doesn’t disappoint. And even though I have a service dog, they allow dogs here too! 😊

Water was horrible along with the bathroom. I needed a room to sleep for a couple of hours and had to switch rooms because the bathrooms are horrible. They don’t clean the rooms properly and since I showered, my body itch. This is definitely not a 3 star hotel more like a 1 star but the staff was very nice and polite.

5 Stars is ONLY because of the Customer Service I received From the Front Desk night Representative Mr Willis Dean. He went above & beyond to fix my HORRIBLE experience. The room was filthy no remote to the TV I am OCD & stains around any tub is disgusting, (so my husband went to purchase some bleach to clean it) once we clean it OHHHH lord It brought out the bugs 🪲 I DO NOT DO BUGSSSS, immediately time to check out! Mr. Willis Dean apologize & immediately got on the phone with the third party we booked through to refund my money in full!! He was very respectful, understanding, cooperative & VERY professional! Clarion y'all have a bug issue on the first floor FIX IT! That is unnecessary deceases that can be spread. Thank you Mr. Dean! Or shut this place down!!

Stayed again last night 1/30/23. They have been remodeling for a few years. Each time we've stayed it was improved over the previous stay. It is now one of the nices hotels in Dothan.

I'm very dissatisfied with this Hotel!! As long as I've lived here I would have thought they would be up to par. You would think them being on the Corner of Ross Clark Circle being one of the busiest parts of town their hospitality would be great, service was very poor, the room we stayed in only had hot water, the cold water knob was broken , when I notified front desk she was rude! We were planning on staying the whole weekend, but canceled and went to the LaQuinta inn!!

Even tho this is obviously an older hotel, the rooms are clean and modern. My room was upstairs facing the courtyard which is very quiet. The pillow top mattress was comfortable and the room was equipped with all the ammenities you'd expect from a 3 star hotel. Best price and great location!!

This hotel exceeded my expectations! This place is one of those hidden gems that really makes your day when you find them by accident. We had driven the semi-truck a long ways for two days, were tired, and was hungry. We found this place with an online search and gave them a call. The person that answered the phone was friendly and eager to help. The price which provided a free breakfast was reasonable, being in line with what we usually pay, so we headed that way. There's a truck stop that provides parking across the street but we were able to get our rig into the hotel parking lot. The front desk staff were also friendly and eager to help. There is a Denny's across the street but as we were checking in we were told about the restaurant inside the hotel. We gave it a try. The restaurant was more upscale than one would expect. The price was slightly more than we normally pay at a truck stop but the place provided an atmosphere of fine dining while both the service and food was wonderful. We noted there was a swimming pool as we walked too our room. When we got to our room, we were delighted to note how nice it was; very clean with no offensive smells. Lots of in-room amenities such as TV, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, and toiletries. The bathroom was quite roomy. The climate control unit worked nicely. I did not note any unwanted pests and it was quiet throughout the night. The beds were quite comfortable and we enjoyed a great night's sleep. The next morning we walked back to the restaurant for our free breakfast and were ecstatic to discover that a full breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, fruit, juice, cereal, and coffee was being provided. Everything was delicious, the wait staff polite and friendly, and it made for a fantastic start to our day. I will definitely seek this place out to stay at when we are ever in the area again and highly recommend it to any and all travelers staying in the area.

I got a room yesterday ac works great but bed was broke. Called the office they moved us to room 2. Left that room for 4 hours came back room wasn't cool. Hubby went to the office then and complained. They made it right and moved us to room 3. That room is great we got a king size bed and ac will freeze you out. The room was clean and bed slept great. The lady's at the office made it right and was very nice. I love staying here they treat you like family. We always stay here when hubby is home off the road. Oh and there dog friendly too.

My 3 year old son, my fiancé and I stayed at the clarion for 3 days recently. I am the first one to point out a negative experience so I figured i should do the same for a positive one. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was good and the staff were very nice especially the wait staff for breakfast. Hotel was in a perfect location close to food,gas and other stores you may need .I think people set their expectations way to high and that’s why they end up having a bad experience. People expect to get top notch hotel rooms for dirt cheap and when they don’t get it they complain about everything. Our family would definitely stay here again and we would definitely recommend this location to friends and family. It’s a comfortable place to rest your head with a very nice staff! They are also remodeling different areas of the hotel to make it more enjoyable for people.

Hey, it's cool ,at this place. Some people are just writing bad things because, they are stuck-up. You know what I'm saying! I loved it. Every one that works there, work hard. The air conditioning is great. Bathroom is clean. The beds, are so relaxing. The floors are clean. Anything you want is just like 2 minutes away. I could not ask for more.

I booked this hotel while I was on the road in a moving truck with all of my belongings moving from Florida to Illinois. The front desk was amazing while I checked in and told me where I could park the 16 foot truck without backing up! Breakfast is included, but only if you sit in the dining room. I had my dog with me and didn't want to leave him in the room or the truck while I ate. They let me take a to go bag with a few breakfast items and some coffee. Thanks to the manager for working around my needs not just following the rules!

I had a friend come to town for a visit. The room was nice, the bed comfortable, and he really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.. He was originally going to stay for two days but I got called out on a job and so he needed to cancel the second day. They understood and gave him a prompt refund to his card. I believe he'll stay there again.
Update: He comes every weekend I'm in town. It's the only hotel we really stay in. They were full last time and we had to stay somewhere else but the Clarion is our first choice

I love this place because every employee I have met and spoke to are extremely helpful and really try to ensure the guests are taken care of regardless what might be going on with them or their families. After being here for so long as a guest, I really love the bacon...really the entire breakfast is the best I have had at a hotel that I didn't cook myself, also getting to know some of room service attendants, thank you ladies :)
Beds are comfy, a/c gets super cold, shower has great pressure and it is close to anything you might need without feeling like I am stuck in a big city...only wish my mini fridge had a freezer 💋

The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was lovely and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay again. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the servers were great. Overall it was a very good experience.

Wonderful place to stay!! We will check out tomorrow for a total of 2 nights. Front desk staff is customer service-oriented & very personable. Full breakfast is included with once again an awesome gentleman assuring you have everything you need. Housekeeping is wonderful & attentive as well. Bed is comfortable; heat was pleasant. Will use again.

I only really writte reviews when something is genuinely great. This little motel is sooo cheap. I couldn’t believe how comfortable the bed was. At other motels i stayed at when im traveling that are much much more expensive, i’m aways ready to leave as soon as im rested enough. But it was my husband who had to wake me up this morning and i did not want to. I literally asked for half an hour more. Lol. Also, it was really clean and thankfully, it didnt smell like smoke. Overall, 100% recommend spending your money at this place. It’s great. Next time i come through here again i’ll stop here.

It was a wonderful room & the Breakfast was the Best we have ever had at a Hotel. Everyone was very nice you couldn't ask for the employee's to be any better. But the Women's restroom didn;t have any toilet paper anywhere so that was a problem.

We went for the Thanksgiving buffet. Waited in line to be seated for about an hour. Ended up sharing a table with another party of three because they were seating large parties faster. Met some new friends and the food was wonderful. Will go again

My reservation through booking.com got screwed up and when I arrived at 10pm was certain there was no way it would be remedied - but the night clerk was AMAZING! We located my reservation (made for two weeks out) and she was able to modify it so I could have room i had originally desired.
