This review is a note to my future self: the cookies and cream soft serve sundae was delicious. The soft chocolate chip cookies and crunchy white chocolate topper were homemade, but the ice cream came out first, so you should share it with 1 or two other people so that you aren't too full for your food.
The brisket sandwich is a must have. The best sandwich you've had possibly in your whole entire life. Get it! You may be distracted by the pork or the Chile relleno sandwiches, but push through to the brisket and you won't be sorry.
Get the soup of the day. Will you be hungry for it? No. But it will be so flavorful and incredibly fresh that you will need some in your life, so just get it.
You're welcome.

Went for lunch. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Place was very clean and inviting.

I had the Beet Reuben which was absolutely delicious! As someone who has gone vegetarian/vegan they had a lot of options. The sandwich had the perfect spice to it and textures were great.

We also got ice cream for us and the kids. Tons of toppings and options as well as plant based options.

Always amazing. I've been here twice now. As much as I'd love to come on a gorgeous summer day after floating the Sandy, I'm happy to get there during off season lulls (& I appreciate all the covered seating for rainy days). First time we went was late spring after I picked my partner up from the airport. We were cutting it close to closing so I had him put our order in on our drive over, and when we got there it was ready for pickup at the window in perfect timing. Then we added our ice cream order there, parked and ate outside. And it was GLORIOUS. Every single item is an experience. I love getting their sandwiches as a rice bowl, it's so cozy and delicious. Admittedly the only critique I would have is that the grilled cheeses are disappointingly smaller than expected. But that's a small thing. I love keeping up with their seasonal menus and sundaes. And I love their masked up staff 🤍 thank you Sugarpine

Cute spot with fun vibes! Loved the trip back into time and delicious specialty sundae flavors! The watermelon juice was yummy!

Super cute, fun, and totally unique place. Feels like a summer camp mess hall with great food. We had the larch mountain sundae, the char siu sandwich, and salmon chowder and everything was really really good. Absolutely will be back to this little gem.

I grow to love the Portland area more with each visit. A tree-lined view, well-executed comfort food, and friendly service. We headed here right before opening on a sunny Saturday morning. It got busy quickly. If the line leads out beyond the porch ramp, order ahead online. But don’t forget to check out the specials on the chalkboard!

The waffle grilled cheese and tomato soup is perfection, a very refined rendition of my childhood lunches. We shared the “cider house rules sundae” and I wished I had a bigger stomach.

Love the seasonal special sundaes for always encouraging me to try something new and delicious! Got the La Dolce Vita Chef Sundae with vanilla soft serve, blood orange marmalade, olive oil cake, almond anise biscotti, and candied blood orange. SO. GOOD. And their savory offerings are just as epic. Grilled waffle sandwich like a French onion soup with gruyere and au jus? Yes please!! And I especially appreciate that they've got so many options for dairy free and gluten free tummies - means the whole family can eat in one place!

Do wish they had accessible restrooms on site, or possibly better signage to the ones in the park across the lot - not sure there's much they can do about that though. Food is worth it either way!

If you’re looking for a dairy-free soft serve option, then this is your lucky day because Sugar Pine Drive-In did NOT disappoint.

I went to try this Portland staple with my sister on a beautiful day, and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. So many precious dogs, kind faces, and top-notch customer service.

I tried the pulled-pork sandwich and the strawberry shortcake ice cream (dairy free). The sandwich was tasty yet refreshing. Not sloppy or hard to eat, which can be sticky on hot days. The soft serve was divine! So delicious and unique. Highly recommend!!

If you’re ever in the area, pull up! Eat outside at their array of picnic tables or simply take the quick route if you’re in a hurry by opting for their drive through, where you can also order alcohol if you’re into that.

Overall, it was amazing! We’ll be back this summer for sure.

Awesome place to grab a delicious sandwich and amazing sundaes. We stopped by on our way back to Portland after hiking in Eagle Creek. It gets busy, but things move fast. The sandwiches were really, really good - we ordered the pulled pork, cheese melt, and the cauliflower one - all super tasty. We also got a couple sundaes, the shamrock (it was St Patricks day after all!) and the strawberry one - both delicious. Highly recommend you stop by, their outside tables are super nice with a view of nature, and it’s an especially fun and rewarding experience to come here after you pre-burned the calories on a nature hike!

Food was great! The ice cream was so good and had unique flavors. Our sandwiches were amazing as well. It was crowded and loud inside, so we didn't stay too long. It would be nice if the weather were better and we could sit outside.

The staff were very friendly.
All of the food was really good. Did a grilled cheese and pulled pork rueben.
Also got the potato salad and the son of man cider, which was very dry and tart, loved it.

The seating outside was plentiful, and the shade felt really nice. Would highly recommend.

Damn ! I had the Hot Pastrami Special
It was very good . A great variation, making this a super delish sandwich .
It’s even a bit spicy.
Loved it.
Need to go back and check out the ice cream .
Saturday around Lunchtime, a bit crowded, although lots of parking.

This place is adorable. The pulled pork sandwich was awesome and the staff were Amazing. Best crew I’ve come across. It was a rainy day and they have blankets on all the chairs!! Whaaat!!! So cool. The staff were so friendly, but genuinely so. They have a no tip policy so if the staff are friendly it’s not to solicit a tip. They truely are lovely people and happy to help you. I love that. This place in summer at the outdoor tables will be incredible too. Can’t wait to come back. It’s a 40 minute drive but well worth it.

Came here with my puppy after a morning at the dog park nearby. Got the Philly and chefs special sundae which was so good. My puppy enjoyed her pup cup complete with treats on top. Highly recommend making a point to stop after time at the park.

Great spot to stop after a hike, or a day floating the river.

The vegan swirl (coconut vanilla and pineapple sorbet) was just what I was looking for... A nice subtle and refreshing flavor in a smooth texture.

I added the vegan dark chocolate coating, which covered everything in a thin layer of chocolate. It was nice, but I might just go plain next time to focus on the dairy free dessert.

Free parking lot available. Drive thru closes earlier than the walk up and order option. No bathroom. 20% tip is auto included on every order.

Lots of covered outdoor tables available.

I've half a mind to buy an RV and park it across the street just to eat here every day. Honestly was a wonderful, almost life changing experience for me and my friends here. We'd been hyped up for it because one of our friends had gone once and she'd been starstruck ever since and boy, she wasn't kidding. I wish I could just *chef's kiss* everything here from the architecture, the friendly staff with the coziest fall outfits and sweetest personalities, the amazing food, the impeccable timeliness of the online orders... simply wow.
We got a pulled pork sandwich, a Korean Philly with melty cheese sauce, and the star of the show sammie - the roasted squash fall sandwich. Oh my god, I wish I could eat that for lunch every darn day. The medley of flavors, the flavorful goat cheese sauce, the warm psychic hug it gives you, the autumn vibes - just all around was our favorite sandwich. Truly a perfect creation.
The signature salad was was amazing, amazing, amazing. Besides being utterly photogenic and gorgeous (colorful fresh greens, roasted veggies, and edible flowers), it was wonderfully filling and came with TWO amazing sauces (although the green goddess dressing took the crown) and is just the perfect salad. The other seasonal salad was like a fancier kind of Caesar, with crispy parmesan chips and roasted grapes that really elevated it. The hot apple cider was also very, very good (although a touch too sweet for me personally) and the sparkling syrup soda was wonderfully refreshing.
Also, the ice cream - amazing. The winner was the golden milk sundae for us, with turmeric golden milk magic shell (soooo spicy-sweet addictive) and I think chewy gingersnap cookies. We had such an amazing time and bought two t-shirts and their homemade hot sauce to bring back to Washington with us, and were gifted many lovely free stickers as well. The staff were so, so friendly (lots of dog compliments and a free treat for our pupper) and just overall delightful human beings that truly deserve all the tips. Not to mention our online order was waiting for us PERFECTLY on time when we arrived, and I appreciate that punctuality very much. Just wow. Got to go every time I'm down in Oregon now- worth the drive, and can't wait to see their next seasonal menu! :)

Order the grilled cheese. That's where it's at. I don't love grilled cheese but this was on another level. And the ice cream sundaes are amazing too. Well worth the stop if you can make. We happened to be there when it wasn't too busy, thankfully. Parking lot is shared with the park so it can be full. Some seating under tents.
