Melissa's Hair Lair

Melissa shampooed and cut my hair for me last night. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but Melissa was able to walk me through the thought process based off my hair goals. I arrived with long hair and old balayage that was well overdue for a trim (like it had been more than a year since my last haircut.) I very broadly wanted most of those split ends gone with only one constraint of wanting to cut off three inches or less. From there, Melissa explained what kind of style/cut would be feasible given my hair type/texture and even how I wear my hair day to day. Melissa's knowledgeable, meticulous, and so very detail oriented. I hope to get another haircut from her :)

Melissa did a wonderful job on my hair. I recently moved to the area about a year ago and was looking for a stylist. She was highly recommended. I have made the mistake twice of getting my hair done by other stylists over the last year and went to Melissa after both botched haircuts. She was able to fix my hair both times. The most recent time I went to Melissa she knew exactly how I wanted my hair cut before I even said anything. That impressed me the most and I knew I found a stylist for life. She is a miracle worker. I highly recommend seeing her.

Excellent stylist! Melissa does an amazing job with my hair and eyebrows. She takes the time to cut well every time. Her salon is immaculate and she cleans it between every client. I also really appreciate the flexibility with scheduling appointments. And this may seem silly, but she takes the time to send reminder texts the day before your appointment. This is a game changer for me! :)

The late Jim Morrison once said, “some of the worst mistakes of my life have been haircuts”. I rarely liked getting them and never really felt I had a good style or a good stylist. That was until I met Melissa. Melissa is amazing! 10+/10. She was able to get me in the same day in July and took extra precautions to keep us safe and the facility was very sanitary. She knew exactly what to do with my hair when I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted. She taught me how to style my new haircut. She also gave me education on not washing my hair as frequently as I was as well as other useful tips. My hair immediately felt better and it is a lot healthier now and it’s been one week since. I absolutely love my hair. I left the salon beaming then got my eyebrows done and felt the best I ever have. Melissa recommended I get it cut every 8 weeks and I will be returning to her only from now on. Thank you Melissa!

I have known Melissa for over two years. Since I have known her and using her services, with the Covid-19 pandemic upon us, I think Governor Pritzker should license Melissa's Hair Lair, an Essential Business. I say this because Melissa can take a tired and worn out, ordinary looking woman and transform her into a beautiful self assured woman in less than two hours and take a tired and worn out ordinary looking man and transform him into a handsome self assured man of the world in less than an hour! I know this because that is how I feel everytime I use her services!

This is more of a question I haven’t been here. My daughter is almost five. She’s biracial. Her hair is very matted right now it’s thick and curly too but it just got so bad the last couple months I’ve tried everything idk what to do. Can you help?
