Uptown Cafe

Came here to try a new Breakfast place. Small local restaurant in the heart of Arlington Heights. Everything was cooked perfectly. Great price and portions. Well kept and clean. Owners are very nice and very welcoming. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.

I have always tried to support “Mom&Pop” businesses before they are all gone!

Uptown Cafe In Arlington Heights is one of those I support. The food is fresh and plentiful and the staff is friendly.

On Wednesday morning they have a young man named Michael working. He walks customers, to their table, brings water and helps wherever he can. I cannot thank Uptown enough for hiring a young man with special needs enough. It’s his favorite day of the week because he goes to work.

Dinning area is clean and roomy. Thanks UC!

Great local eatery. Other good options in the AH area but my girls love the oatmeal here. Good layout with plenty of seating for different sized groups. Also if you're interested in a fast breakfast, it seems to come out faster than anywhere else.

Came up here for my B-day brekkie and my Eggs Benedict hash was amazing. Kathy the waitress was spot on. 👌 coffee was refilled round the clock...like a Swiss clock ⏰ price was on par

I recommend the Eggs Florentine.

Their hash browns are cooked with some kind of smash method, so if you like your potatoes with a lot of browned crispy bits, you'll enjoy theirs.

All the staff was very kind to me. Very busy at lunch time, very energizing.

They are closed for good. I will really miss this place.

I love this place. Quick, quality, fresh, from scratch food in a small business atmosphere. Good coffee. Staff has been here forever and has regulars. Do yourself a favor and skip the lines in the trendy chain across the street and visit this mom & pop. By the end, you'll be a regular too.

The staff makes very beautiful drinks and I've never had to wait too long. Friendly staff, neat interior including the restroom. It's always nice to be able to enjoy a good coffee. The people that work here are super nice and the shop is a great place to chill. They treat everyone professionally and are friendly to all customers. Specialty drinks are made the proper way. Will definitely be going back to Uptown Cafe. I love this coffee shop and their menu. I will definitely be coming back here for a cup of coffee anytime I’m in the area. This place brings a unique and memorable experience that is worth the trip. I definitely recommend!

I've been going to this restaurant for 30+ years (and I'm 33 years old) and they never disappoint.

After moving away, we rarely get to visit our favorite family restaurant. But when we do, we take the iconic soup home! Creamy chicken soup with wild rice.

Thank you Uptown Cafe! You'll always be our favorite place and favorite people.

I will start by saying, I don’t typically give 5 stars but this place deserves it! From the delicious food to the cozy atmosphere, it’s a perfect relaxing breakfast joint. Even tho it’s diner style, you feel like the food is handled with care, and seasoned to perfection. What I usually get for breakfast is a dish with steak, so it’ll keep me full for a busy morning, but many breakfast restaurants fall short in seasoning steak and hide it inside a dish so they done showcase it. This place changed the game for me! Omelette on top of steak and potatoes! Steak was incredible to say the least. Also, what I enjoy is the owner there coming to tables and making sure everything is going well! I really appreciate that. There’s a lot of love in this restaurant and that’s why I’m giving it a 5/5 ❤

My family has enjoyed Uptown Cafe for decades. Georgia, George, Dino, Penny, Christina and the staff (so many). They have watched our families, grow as we have watched theirs.
Service is great. Food is great. It's more than just that though, it's personal. It's like home when you can't be there.

The food here was out right amazing. The owners are very friendly and so is the staff. What I loved the most about this restaurant is the memories I’ve built coming here so many times and seeing the same faces and enjoying a great breakfast and coffee here. I feel as if there a lot of good food spots around but not many have the family breakfast vibe and energy uptown has. I love this place and I come in to eat every time I’m in Chicago.

I rarely leave restaurant reviews, but had to here - I called Uptown at open on a Saturday morning with a modest sized catering request for a wedding party later that morning. They were tremendously helpful in figuring something out for me (not having a standard catering menu) and the order was ready to go on time just a few hours later, on an otherwise busy morning for the restaurant. They also gave me a call later in the day to confirm that everything was satisfactory with my order. This was such an excellent experience and the food was great, as it always is.

Everything good in a neighborhood restaurant is right here! Super friendly ownership, delicious food (eat-in or take-out) and always a great experience. I almost always have breakfast - but the sandwiches and soups are also wonderful. Trying to decide where to go today - go to Uptown! You won’t be disappointed.

Local institution is now permanently closed. We will miss you!

My girlfriend and I love this place! We have been here over a dozen times in the last 3-4 months and airways enjoy our service, food, and atmosphere. Breakfast is always reasonably priced and they even have done really great gluten free items! We are moving soon about 30 miles away and will definitely still make the drive Sunday morning to eat at our favorite breakfast restaurant!

I can't believe this place doesn't have 5 stars. They deserve way more than that. The berry french toast is amazing. The host and our waitress were very welcoming and treat you like you're family. First time there and it won't be the last.
