Wow! I had no idea there was such a beautiful spot 10 minutes away! The lake is huge!

Definitely one of the best cooling lakes in Illinois... if you can get past hiking. You can Target multiple species depending on where you start. Between the hot and the cold side, gravel or Sandy Bottom, drop-offs deep holes and flats excellent fishing from a boat and great fishing from Shore.

Beautiful area, decent fishing. Clean and well kept. Larger vessels (28+) may find the parking ramp a little small- but still usable.

Great fishing here, caught bass and catfish.

Nice park to fish at

We held our annual fishing tournament. It was great. The kids that were there had a wonderful time. A lot of fish were caught. Eater size. I just wish there was a pickup and dropoff service for seniors along the rocks. But it was a great day.

Always a great time cat fishing. There was even beautiful wildlife.

You will always catch something! Even if they aren't giants. Would be really fun for kids put a worn on a bobber. Or put it on the bottom. Kids will catch either bluegill or small channel catfish.

I always catch blues when I come and fish this lake. I've only discovered it this summer, and so far I have no complaints. The fish taste delicious and there are supposedly some monsters in here. It has easily become one of my favorite spots, hope you enjoy it too!

Eagles nest here. Very windy but lots of big fish.

I like going out there bc, in some places the water is so calm when you're fishing in your boat. The environment is comfortable. Everybody is just out having fun with family and friends. Peace and relaxation. 👌

The illini State Park is well maintained and a great place to spend time for a day or two. I come year round and camp. The Memorial Park dedicated for our brave soldiers who sacrificed and lost their lives to protect our freedom are well preserved and remembered.I salute out fallen heroes.
The town had a few restaurants, antique store, grocery store, gas stations.

Great place to relax on the Illinois River

The shore fishing was okay. There are lot rocks. I would recommend you bring a bike.

Love this place, its quiet and you can get a good tan. Fish bite like crazy. People are friendly and offer help.
