Great little sanctuary for a walk. We made a big loop from our B&B (Kendall Tavern Inn), through the sanctuary and back into Freeport through Bow St. In Foliage season this is an absolutely beautiful walk and everyone on the way was super friendly.

Great kayak route to porters landing : start at high tide have car at other end

The location was easy to find and parking was plentiful when I went. The trails are not very wide, so it's not a great place to go as a large group. I loved how overgrown and wooded the trails in the woods were. The change of scenery was great as well. On top of wooded trails, there is also an orchard, a stream, an old mill site, and some open fields. The only downside was there were a lot of mosquitoes, so make sure you have bug spray!

Private wildlife sanctuary, 140+ acres with several miles of trails, stream and marsh. Open to the public dawn until dusk.
