Carrara's Childrens Shoes

I love this place. It is a small family run business and I absolutely love the owner. He is SO friendly. He is extremely knowledgeable on all his products and how shoes should fit. He also has unique relationships with Italian shoe factories that produce amazing (one of a kind) genuine leather shoes for children. The shoes are really beautiful. He sells European shoe brands that are hard to find in Chicago. He has the popular shoe brands as well (keen, bogs etc). The shoes here are high quality that provide great support for your kiddo. You can buy dress shoes and you can buy very durable/practical everyday shoes.

He has plenty of toys for kids to play with so they are distracted while you fit them with shoes. I recommend coming on a week day during 10-noon. It is less busy and you can take your time on the shoe fitting.

After a failed big box trip, purchased my son’s first real pair of shoes and after the first experience returned to buy his second pair of shoes here. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, shoes are good quality, and the store is a gem. Plenty of toys to keep little ones occupied. I would highly recommend

I just love this place. We’re in the habit of taking our kiddos here a few times a year to get measured/sized and get whatever shoes they need. Usually sneakers and winter boots but we also love the stylish leather boots that we’re now passing down from kid to kid. The owner is so nice and will make sure you walk out happy.

I took my daughter there today (after literally 10 other stores in the past few months). The owner is quite possibly the kindest, most knowledgeable, and most helpful man ever! He’s owned the store for 30 years and took it over from his parents. You can tell he really loves what he does. This was by far the most pleasurable shoe purchasing experience I have EVER had in my 17 years of parenthood. I will be going back here first from now on. The owner did not ask me to write any review, there was no discount for writing, and I doubt he will ever even know. I was just so blown away by this customer service experience that I wanted to tell everyone! And… drum roll… the kid who has the most selective taste in shoes and hasn’t found anything this side of the Mississippi… found an adorable pair of fancy booties for shabbos! They have such good quality brands and a good selection! This place is seriously a one of a kind shoe shopping experience!!!

Fantastic experience shopping for my twins’ first pair of shoes. We arrived a little before opening, but the owner welcomed us in and was super patient and helpful as we picked out their shoes. We’ll definitely be going back for more shoes in the future.

Took my grandson-16 months old- for his first pair of shoes- the lovely gentleman who took care if us - I’m presuming is the owner- was so courteous and kind and patient. He made sure my grandson was engaged with wonderful toys and even played with him. He gently measured his foot and then brought out several shoes to try on. And then took the time (upon my request) to video me helping my grandson take his first steps in his very first shoes. Just an overall wonderful experience! Wouldn’t go

Came to get my son's feet properly sized and find some good quality shoes for an upcoming event that will also work for the school year. Staff was attentive and helpful from the start and brought a number of options to try. Once a decision was made, they welcomed us to stay and play with the train tables as long as we wanted. Price was reasonable--and comparable to online prices--for high quality brand in a style that made both my son and me happy. We'll definitely be back!

Had a great experience here getting shoes for my tot. Knowledgeable about their brands and what would fit my kids foot best. We’re only in town seeing the in-laws but plan to come back whenever we’re visiting.

The owner assists you and I have confidence he is going to show us shoes that will be comfortable, fit well, and help her walk properly. He has toys in the store to keep the kids occupied while you’re purchasing them. Love this store.

Best shoe shopping experience ever! Very nice salesperson quickly measured my son’s foot and gave us a few options. My son’s foot is wide so he brought out shoes that would be comfortable for him and easy to take on and off. Prices are comparable to buying online, but there is nothing like trying the shoe on in person. Will be coming back here for sure!

This is the absolute best place to shop for children’s shoes. The quality is excellent and the customer service exceptional. I am 65 and my mother bought all my shoes from the family that owns the shop. I bought all my children’s shoes here and now I am buying my grandchildren’s shoes at the same place. My grandchildren live in California and Renato, the owner, even ships the shoes out to them. We are Italian and great shoes is part of our cultural heritage. Carrara's Shoes is THE best children's shoe store in the city! We've been going to Carrara's for years, and we couldn't be happier with the service and products they provide.

The owner of Carrara's is an amazingly friendly man who always greets my family and I with a smile. His warmth and sincerity make each trip a joy. His extra attention to detail, and the knowledge he and his staff have about children's shoes is second-to-none. The staff always listens to what our child's specific needs are, and never tries to up-sell us. The shoes they recommend are always spot on.

The fact that they are a family run and owned business is an incredible added bonus! I can't say enough good things about Carrara's! :)

Wonderful experience! I came to get my sons first pair of walking shoes and to get him sized; the owner was so helpful, he took the time to go through all the different benefits of each shoe.
