Rockford Dam Overlook

I visited on a weekend in early October right when the fish were starting to run up river so there were lots of fisherman. The leaves were starting to change colors. I had never walked the riverwalk before. It passes by stores and restaurants right in Rockford. The day I was there it was raining off and on all day, so it wasn't very enjoyable. But I definitely recommend checking it out.

So beautiful and serene and the shops around it are great! We really enjoyed the ice cream. And we like the store Era too.

Lovely park! Miles of paved trails to run and bike. It is a beautiful downtown with breweries, shops, ice cream, and restaurants.

Beautifully quiet. A winter wonderlerland of water, lights and snow (December ;)). They have added so many more benches and chairs around the dam. Always find a great spot to sit and enjoy the view and comforting sounds of the water.

The walking path beside the Rogue River above the dam here are so beautiful. On one side the walk goes through a woods but on the other side it goes beside wildflowers galore, and a family of swans was there also! There are little places to eat and picnic tables, shops and sometimes a farmer's market here. It's really my favorite place in the whole area!

A great place to visit for a nice home town feel.

Great spot to take pictures and relax to the soothing sounds of the Flat River cascading downstream. Seems like a revered fishing spot as I always see lots of dudes wading beneath the dam with extra long fishing poles, but no one ever seems to catch anything while I'm there, kind of like Pickerel Lake. Gorgeous fall colors and a nice memorial area with flags. Also cool sculptures, landscaping, sitting areas and a gazebo. Neat spot to relax, go fishing or take creative pictures in downtown Rockford.

Excellent views. It was one of the best down town experiences I’ve ever had. Well kept up with snow removal. Awesome area for picture taking as well. The fire pit on the corner was the best part.

Beautiful place to go for a walk and relax. Restaurants and shopping super close nearby! Downtown Rockford is a great place to spend a day!

Good place to walk around and unwind. We love going here whenever we visit Rockford, be it in summer or winter. There is lots of fish here so husband and I sometimes go fishing here. Just pack some big worms and you're good to go. Around the place there are also pubs, brewery, restaurants and ice cream store which offers delicious treats. To further relax and reach your steps you can walk along the Rogue River Trail which is just beside the dam overlook. You can also bring your bikes and cycle around. Parking is free by the overlook but on the side streets you need to pay.

Spectacular views year-round. Close proximity to the bike-path, ice-cream shoppe, and beautiful downtown Rockford. If you bring your family here it's a cant-miss.

The view is amazing. it wasn't too packed. The dancing fish sculpture was neat... It seemed to be very laid back I even saw a hammock hanging up. Lots of places to sit and has a kayak dock

First time visiting. Loved the scenery. Lots of small shops & restaurants to visit. Dam to fish in or benches to sit and enjoy watching the geese & ducks. The have a trail to walk/run on many people were enjoying the day doing these activities so it was good to see. Must eat at Toasted Pickle - very delicious food!

The Rockford Darn(family friendly here) is SO peaceful!! Everyone is just here to enjoy nature and time legit feels like it slows down here. With the White Pine Trail going right through; biking/running/long boarding…you name it, people are always taking advantage of the scenery! The rushing water adds a certain aspect that you just don’t get in a lot of cities, and that’s why the Rockford Dam(pardon my language) is so special to many! Love the community here and will always come back :)

Love the new walk way../bridge...
Alit of landscape work...cleaned out..lots more places to fish...more room...but 1 thing it needs to somehow connect to old bridge...so u can walk the entire thing...see lits more stuff...

I got to show my boys the beauty of nature at its best. Wish there was down town area to use the restroom but it was great.

This place is so pretty not only the dam but all the pretty flowers and birds in the area.

A beautiful little town and I was pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful the Dam is! This is in my opinion a destination. Plenty of shops, restaurants and a linear trail. There's something for everybody here. Check it out, you will not be disappointed!
