One of the most amazing culinary experiences we have ever had. All food is expertly prepared, many dishes are vegan including the lavender butter, brie and Bleu cheese, all foods are locally sourced, in season and presented by wonderful staff who explain each dish. The meal is 9 courses and worth every cent for such a delightful special occasion. Chef Michael puts his heart into each dish with amazing craftsmanship. My husband and I celebrated our birthdays and anniversary, which staff made us feel like royalty. We had a choice of seats which we choose to experience outside on the veranda. Loved every meal and definitely will return.

I am not one to write reviews but after looking to make my second reservation there and seeing that there had been a couple reviews that did not at all convey what the experience at Jardin is like I simply had to share mine.
My girlfriend and I hate here last summer. It was one of the most beautiful, interesting, and delicious experiences that you can have in Cape May, or anywhere else for that matter. This establishment does not only have absolutely fantastic food but also immerses you in an entire evening of incredibly curated dishes, impeccable service and exceptionally knowledge, professional and friendly staff. Between the tasteful interior both in design and style, and the porch music prior to our seating, there is nothing that could have been better. The chef takes the time to plan the dishes perfectly, and though it isn’t fully vegan they appear to offer a fully vegan experience upon request. Just fantastic, I have recommended this restaurant to practically everyone who comes to Cape May. Simply fantastic.
Five stars doesn’t do it justice.

One of the most fun meals we've had in a long time. The service was as good as any we've ever had - friendly & attentive but not intrusive. The playful nature of the dishes makes each one memorable, even if some are better than others. It reminds me of Laurel when it first opened - exciting and engaging, with some home runs and some items you can envision reimagined. This restaurant would be buzzed about in Philly or NY, which is a nice change of pace for the Cape May restaurant scene. Chef Michael has done an amazing job creating such a delicious progression so soon after opening. We can't wait to go back and see how the menu evolves. Highly recommend if you enjoy the tasting menu experience.

Awesome! Wish I could give Jardin 10 stars. This was our 3rd time at Jardin, the menu is always changing and it just keeps getting better. Chef Michael’s menu is innovative, unique, and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are knowledgeable and inviting. The passion and vision shows through from start to finish. Jardin is a welcome addition to Cape May, it’s a must add to list of must go places. We’ll be back!

We had the pleasure of dining at Jardin on their opening weekend, and must say this was truly an experience! From the amazing, unique food to the outstanding service, Jardin fits in beautifully with the Cape May fine dining scene. The 9-course prix-fixe meal was paced perfectly, and the intimate setting ensures each guest receives personal attention from both the host and the chef himself. The food itself was delicate and inventive, beautifully plated, and perfectly proportioned. Overall, an outstanding experience in a quiet adult setting. Will definitely be back!

Wednesday evening I had the most spectacular meal at the Jardin. The food was not only exquisite, it was absolutely delicious - innovative, creative, delectable, and beautiful. Kudos to Chef whose creativity abounds. Our server Courtney was delightful and it was obvious she also appreciates Chef's works of art - service was wonderful HIghly recommend the experience.

Had the opportunity to eat at this fabulous restaurant last weekend. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a very memorable, and fun experience. We arrived a bit early to ensure we were easily on time for the seating at 6:30 and spent some time on the beautiful porch enjoying a glass of wine. We were then ushered into a small and intimate dining room. There are literally just a few tables but it became clear very quickly that this is all part of the dining strategy. Plates started to arrive and with each Candace (a rock star) took time at each table to explain the dish (from the inspiration all the way through to the ingredients). Nothing was rushed and I never once felt bad that I was keeping her from her duties with questions I may have had. That seems, again, like the strategy here. Because it is so small and intimate you become part of the experience and questions are not only welcome, I felt like they were encouraged so that we could understand and truly savor the dish! It's honestly something I've never experienced before while dining anywhere! About half way through the service the chef (Michael) himself comes out. Not sure if this occurs every night (I assume it does) but he also went table to table spending time discussing anything the patrons asked. It seemed every conversation at each table was different and Michael conversed, unrushed, and was happy to explain his artistry (this is what it is...complete art) and his thought process for any dish. Now, enough about the experience (although I could write about it and it alone) and onto the food. I really don't even know where to start here. Each plate is a work of art. It looks beautiful, it tastes amazing, they are all completely on purpose and each comes with it an experience all on its own. I mean, the flavor was just amazing but everything was cooked to complete perfection. Mussels melt in your mouth, scallops explode with flavor and you can sit and savor the duck! It's just insane. But, proteins aside, I have to touch on some of the other favorites. The faux gras pate has to be one of the most innovative items on the menu. You're mind will be blown when you learn about how its made. Lastly, hands down my favorite item on the current menu is the Mayan 300AD dish (Yam)...just spectacular. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. There is no place like it in Cape May. Just don't be in a rush, take a while to get through the journey you're about to undertake :)

Celebrated my wife’s birthday at Jardin. It was recommended by a local friend who said it was a real Foodie place. It certainly was a Foodie delight. Frankly this place reminds me of a lot of those little, out of the way, Michelin rated places in Europe. It is housed in a lovely Victorian B&B. Before dinner We were invited to have a free glass of Prosecco in a sitting room, by the owners( never met them before and we had no common friends). They sat and talked with us about the restaurant, themselves, and Cape May. The dinning room is small but has lots of windows. The table was beautifully set, blue tinted glassware, orange colored flowers and a candle. One server for the room. She was a delight. Experienced and knowledgeable about all the ingredients in each item on the plate. No dairy used in anything. Innovative food, locally sourced, often organic and eco-friendly.The salt they used is their house made, Cape May ocean water, sea salt. Every course was lite and a delight. Not only did the chef , Micheal Schultz, visit every table, he invited us in for a masked tour of his pristine kitchen( where we met their amazing Sous chef). I asked chef Shultz where he had worked previously. My jaw dropped when he named some of the best restaurants in the country. This place is really special!

Jardin at Hugh

I made a reservation for dinner, but actually bought a ticket to a show.
The moment I arrived, I was escorted to a lovely waiting area where the usher lit my path with a smile and poured me a glass of anticipation as I quietly awaited the performance.
As the chandelier was raised, I caught a glimpse of the stage where the curtain would soon be opened to reveal the first set. The staff, as actors, presented 9 courses where the food was tiny works of art to admire and savor. I was lost in the story until the evening came to an end and the chef made his final curtain call.
Jardin at Hugh is an experience, not to be rushed, but to linger and enjoy. As I took my last bite of the 9th act, I realized I’d become part of the show.
I was no longer viewing the stage, I was on it.

Great concept but the food was terrible, 1st and 2nd course were dried out bread with cashew butter & very dry Crudité.

First Main course you get 1 seafood (which was one piece of scallop cooked great).

Second main course was poultry (a duck breast that was extremely overcooked, it was absolutely not eatable).

The menu is mostly vegan except for the two courses that I’ve mentioned above.

To our understanding the chef is vegan which is awesome but if you are gonna offer duck you can’t afford to overcook your only meat option.

The presentation was absolutely amazing.

The Service was as you were at a Michelin starred restaurant.
