Spice Cellar of Cape May

I only wish I would have walked into this awesome place on the first day of our mini vacation. Both times walking in here, the staff was so helpful and wonderful, makes me realize how powerful employee’s attitudes are when it comes to representing businesses. We ended up buying some very tasty Tuscan olive oil that I had on a salad this morning and it was wonderful and I can’t wait to have a glass of the local wine I got there as well. Besides the wonderful gifts they sell, they shared a lot of local information about things to do and great places to visit and what to avoid. What an awesome place, I only wish every small business was like this.

Little gem store in my favorite Cape May. Mustard selection is amazing! As well as infused oils and different spices. I always bring home something new to try. They do a lot of their amazing stuff right there on premises too! And you can always try things before you buy)

Cute quaint place with a nice selection of spices oils hot sauce mustards nuts and more. Mary Colleen the manager was very sweet and knowledgeable about everything they sell. They are very unique and you should try out thier stuff.

Great place for flavored balsamic vinegars

Me and my daughter went to the Spice Cellar on August 4th of 2023, it was a terrible experience… one of the vendors was very rude and made us feel very unwelcome 😢I felt terrible and so did my 15 year old daughter… it ruined our vacation completely and it was only our second day at West Cape May! I felt like I was discriminated because have an accent, not knowing her that if I have an accent it means I speak more than one language and being a foreigner doesn’t mean I can’t pay for whatever products they sale at the store… quite the opposite… I went there and I was going to spend a good amount of money on their products but ended up only buying 2 hot sauces ( the Reaper of Sorrow)… I was going to get at least 12 bottles but decided to leave the store because I was feeling uncomfortable and my daughter was very down and stared crying… just for the note… we entered the store and asked one of the vendors( a lady with glasses)very politely which sauce was the hottest and she made faces and kept mumbling and letting us know she was not happy with our presence at the store… I hope she or whoever is in charge of the store, reads my comment and if she is the owner, she will go to a different business because to deal with people, a person need to be a people’s person… nice, polite, good hearted and welcoming!!! I’ll never go back to this store and will keep writing bad reviews about it and since I have lots of friends and family that always visit Cape May, they all know that ( SPICE CELLAR) is a store they shouldn’t visit!!!

Place looked nice and the selection of oils and spices was nice, but customer service from the two ladies was lacking. We entered and they were talking and did not even say hello. We started walking around and a few minutes later another couple walked in and they said hello and ask if we can help you. We left with our money in our pockets as their prices were a bit on the high side. Other merchants were much more welcoming and deserving of our money.
