Roadside Diner

I have had a lot of french toast in my day. In my opinion, none do it better than the Roadside Diner. Fairly priced, large portion, nice thick slices; The ideal plate of french toast. The coffee was nice and dark, so no complaints there. The service has been great every time. The owner really seems to care about the food he puts out as he always makes sure to ask how it is. While the booths may be tight by todays standards, I do not mind as it adds to the vintage charm of the classic rail car. I also appreciate the decor that adorns the walls. I especially appreciate the New Jersey Devils and baseball memorabilia. If you appreciate good food, good atmosphere, good service, and good prices, The Roadside Diner is for you.

This place is awesome! Been here on a sunday for lunch, really cozy, had the place all to myself and the radio station is on point! Great place to have the perfect BLT!

Great food, owner is super friendly and food is a perfect example of classic americana diner food. He makes his own homemade fries and burgers. The place was built in the 30s and is one of the few remaining dining car diners. My only critique is the booths are a bit small but hey, still an amazing experience. Highly recommend.

We have been there 2 weeks ago. Great authentic place for a tasty snack. Loved the atmosphere between these old bon jovi and bruce springsteen photographs. We had a blast and can recommend it.

I love this place! It's an old school, pre-WWII, train car style diner. The vintage layout gives it a cool & intimate vibe. My wife & I traveled over 30 minutes for this vintage vibe, & it delivered.

Both the owner & the waiter were super friendly & welcoming. The owner is literally in the back cooking your food, with one waiter serving you. Once he finishes cooking for a few tables he comes out, gives a nod & a smile, then leaves you in peace to eat; so cool.

Food was excellent! In my experience, it was better than typical diner food. It was also very cheap, but again, very good.

I highly recommend you check this place out.

The Roadside Diner is a very old Truck Stop Diner. It's open from 7am to 4pm every day. We stopped for breakfast on our way to the Atlantic City Car Auction which to our disappointment was canceled 😡. We all got omelets with endless cups of coffee. The food was plentiful and good with an old style atmosphere. If you like old Diners you'll like this one. 👍

Me and my partner often like to visit diner on weekends for our breakfast and this one is one of our favorite. Food is really great. The ladies who serve are very polite and sweet. They enjoy what they do. We had a garden sandwich which came along with fries and coleslaw and also had a traditional french toast plus 2 unlimited refilling coffee cups. All that with tax came to 12.80$. Don't trust..I have attached the receipt :) and we did receive a little thank you note!! Would recommend the place.

Such charm here, and Ps the food is fantastic! I love a spot that seems timeless. Good prices here too. Loved my omelette and have had other great meals here too especially the cheeseburgers. I hear they roast a Turkey sometimes and can’t wait to have a Turkey dinner here soon. Family owned and operated I think and served with sass haha, love it! Thank you!!

Great hole in the wall dinner. Nice waitress and owner / chef. No nonsense but large portions AND quality food. Burger medium rare was done just right. Fries were crispy and light. Friend's eggs and bacon and with hash browns looked good too - he loved it. Small older place that doesn't look like much from the outside but if you can look past that you will be rewarded.

Amazing spot. Food is prepared very nicely. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and engaging. The hash is amazing. The boardwalk fries are so tasty. We go.out of our way to come here.

I was first here over 25 years ago back when I lived in North Jersey and was traveling to the shore. Live not far away now, but just never had the opportunity to get here.
Stopped here for breakfast with my wife. Everything was made perfect, the coffee (both regular and decaf) was great, and the staff were friendly.
You can say it's small, but I say it's cozy. Old as dirt with, what I understand to be, most of the original features from the 1940's. A cool front door that slides open and closed. They have a high tech rotary phone by the register.
Worth going just for the historic aspect with the additional bonus of having an inexpensive great meal.
A side note, when I was here over 25 years ago, it was good then too.

Stopped here to a pleasant cup of joe & spoke with the owner for a few mins. Good conversation. Anyone who can’t appreciate an original train car diner from the 30’s should just keep it moving down to the nearest Starbucks. This place is a gem.

Stopped in for a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon. Melissa was our server and couldn’t have been sweeter, more accommodating and what great service! Dimitri customer made our food to order, fresh and was even asked if we wanted fresh or frozen French fries! Well the food came quickly and was BETTER than most diners in NJ! We would return any time we are in this area. No doubt about it, the ROADSIDE DINER ROCKS!!!!

Such happy thoughts being here. Retro feel in the train car and the portions are substantial! The waitresses are so polite and caring. I loved it!

This is old school diner but don't let the looks fool you. The burgers are huge and freshly made. The fries are fresh and skins on. It's a stop I try to make every few months (have yet to see Bruce Springsteen there but you never know). It's cash only but that's fine with me. Don't just drive by...stop in and grab some great food and revisit one of the old diner classics in NJ
