My car broke down in Lake placid New York and I needed a flatbed trailer to haul it back to Boston. I sat in the cab of the flatbed truck and drove all the way back with the driver. He was extremely professional and thankfully there are good people out there willing to do last minute long distance trips. this was done through AAA.

This shop has good reputation that is why I had my vb wrx tuned here. Taylor is honest and professional. He is easy to communicate with. He treats his customer with respect. I am glad I found this place and really enjoyed the service.

When I realized my car keys had been lost somewhere on Whiteface mountain I didn’t know what to do. Through AAA I was connected with Hoffman Towing, these guys will not let you down. Incredibly kind and down to earth guys.

We were traveling across the US when the brakes of our european Sprinter failed in Lake Placid. Bad enough, but on top of that we were pressed for time. Taylor and his guys went out of their way to help us. They saved us having to tow it to the nearest Mercedes workshop, got the spare parts and installed them in a flash. And at a really reasonable price. Our Sprinter now brakes perfectly again. You really can't expect that much commitment. In addition, we were warmly welcomed and looked after by Taylor's wife in the adjoining café while we were waiting. What wonderful people everyone! Thanks so much! If we lived there, it would be our main workshop. Competence, commitment and speed. Fully recommended!

Love Hoffman Auto they have come through for me in a pinch several times during short visits to Lake Placid. Last year it was 95 degrees and my A/C stopped working. They got me in quickly and fixed for the drive home. Also do my inspections here every time. Great service and workmanship!

They were very helpful. Called this afternoon with a flat tire and they were able to get it taken care of even with out an appt. We dropped the truck off and conveniently Big Slide Brewery is across the street.

I’m an out of town-er and was looking for an oil change in a pinch. There are no chain service options in that area so I called around and no one was really able to help me out in my pinch…until I called Hoffman Auto! I went over, dropped my car, ate at big slide across the street while looking out at beautiful mountain views, walked back across the street, retrieved my finished car, and was on my way! Would highly recommend this auto shop! Hoffman auto is great family run business with friendly staff. They are fast and fair which is always hard to find! They have a great text the technician tool which is super helpful.

Hoffman's came to my rescue road side after my car broke down. They towed the car to the shop and gave me a quote for the required work in a timely manner. They were super transparent with me and kept an open line of communication throughout the whole process. Which I greatly appreciated. They are very efficient and thorough with their diagnosis and work.

Customer service was outstanding! I recieved both update calls and texts directly from them so I knew exactly what was going on with timing of parts, labor and when the vehicle would be finished.

Hoffman’s Auto went above and beyond. We were stranded at a rest stop and needed a tow ASAP. Hoffman’s sent a tow truck to the rest stop and towed our car directly to their shop. Once at the shop they were able to diagnose and fix this issue fast. Their customer service and compassion for our situation was more than we could ever expect. On a ski vacation from out of state and had the same issue of our Toyota 4Runner intermittently not starting. Hoffman auto fit us in, diagnosed the issue and fixed it. This was the 5th place we have been over 2 years and other attempts included replacing the fuel pump, gas tank; air censor, battery, sparkplugs and other failed diagnostics, but no one else fixed the actual problem. It ended up being a tricky electrical issue involving an aftermarket component that had been partially removed, but never re-wired correctly. The front office was courteous and communicated with us clearly and timely. Price was reasonable and we are thrilled with the service. If you ever want to open a branch office on the shoreline in CT, I'd be your first customer. Thank you for a job well done.

We also had to use their AAA towing service to winch us out of the driveway after the rental van got stuck on 2-inches of ice. On time, professional and courteous.

My pickup was treated with the Crown corrosion-preventive product. The underside of my truck is thoroughly protected from road salt and rust, and I have no worries about the coming winter. Hoffman Auto people are knowledgeable, professional and friendly. A comfy waiting area is provided as well. I will be a regular customer!

I recently had my car die on Main Street in Lake Placid, I called AAA for a tow and selected Hoffman Auto because we regularly get tire/oil service from them.
They took my car to the shop, but then called and suggested they bring it up to the Honda dealership in Plattsburgh, because my car was still under warranty.
That was a big savings of time and money! I have a AAA+ membership which includes 100 miles of towing, plenty to cover the trip to Plattsburgh. Thank you, Hoffman Auto!
Now, if only the dealership could figure out what's wrong with my poor minivan...

We were happy to find the folks at Hoffman Auto during our winter holiday in Lake Placid. They squeezed us in on New Year's eve and stayed late to help resolve our issue. We had a 750+ mile drive home, so appreciated all they did to give us peace of mind without adding work that wasn't needed.

I got a service message on my car that I needed to add oil, somehow I broke the thingsamabob that opens the hood of my car so I couldn’t add the oil. I googled” family owned repair shops “ and took the car to Hoffman’s with my 89 year old uncle in it on a blistering hot day. They helped me open the hood, they helped me fill the oil and they treated me (a seasonal resident) with kindness and fairness. I left with the biggest smile on my face. Thank you thank you thank you!

Let me first say Thank you Hoffman Auto for going above and beyond. You're a lifesaver! I never thought i could get service as thorough and as quickly as they did. Also gave me a free ride back to Main street. I had an issue with my brakes after coming downhill from Whiteface Mountain. I was expecting to be charged exorbitantly as i'm from out of state but it was actually better (lower) pricing than I thought it would be. They made sure I understood what the issue was and did not take a shortcut, all the details were laid out. So I was aware of everything that's wrong with my car. I got home to NJ with no issues and my car fixed.

Hands down best experience. I can't speak of the work they do but I can say we appreciate everything they did for us.

Bob was friendly and funny. He picked us up off of I87 even though his truck couldn't carry 3 to Connecticut comfortably. He brought us back to the shop until another truck was available. The fact that he came out and got us to a safe location means so much to us. He was also informative about the area since I had plenty of questions.

Blake...... You are my Hero. Blake drove us all the way home which was about 300 miles one way. Instead of declining the tow he accepted and was so nice. He was funny, friendly, super accommodating and just plain awesome. Blake played the music I like which is oldies from the 60's. He also suffered gracefully through all of my questions, humming and singing lol.

Based on the experience my Husband and I had with these two gentlemen we highly recommend them.

Also Bob and Blake have beautiful eyes. Whoa!!! Just look at those for a min.
