Blanchester IOOF Cemetery

If I could give negative stars I would. Less than an hour before the committal service, the cemetery called our funeral director and we were told that we would not be having a graveside service “for safety reasons, that it is more common these days.” We show up and it’s literally in the parking lot. The platform to hold the casket was in a parking spot and we stood on super uneven pavement like we were at a tailgate. The actual headstone was only a 30 sec walk away, there really was no excuse why we couldn’t have a graveside service. The hole was dug and you could see the side of the other persons vault at the end. I know they have to make the plots close, but I don’t really wanna see another persons vault that’s going to touch my loved ones. Probably could’ve left a couple inches of dirt to hide that.

Very disappointed in this place, we lost our son in 2005. We have all of his things that we have placed on his grave stolen or placed on other grace sites. Not sure how this even happens. But I have called and complained several times and I get nothing out of them. Oh, how I wish I could change this. Hurts so bad to see as a mother that has lost her child to see this. As when we come to visit his grace ever other babies graves things have not been touched or stolen from. Heart breaking to say the least 😢

Went to the cemetery over memorial weekend.My uncle who did three tours in Vietnam grave and grave stone are bury in dirt from a grave that was dug right down from his.also my grandmothers grave is piled high with the same dirt.Someone that was a family member of the new grave took my grandmothers metal heart off her grave and stuck it on the grave that was dug and that caused the giant pile of dirt on my families graves. I FELT ILL COULD NO BELIEVE PEOPLE THINK THIS IS OKAY INCLUDING THE PEOPLE THAT DIG GRAVES AND TAKE CARE OF CEMETERY.

I would give this ZERO stars, but had to rate to continue. I end up pulling grass around my Parents' graves EVERY TIME I visit their site. I saw some lawn mowing, weed eating taking place hours ago, but the grass has the "wheat look" on top, meaning its been at least 10-14 days since it was last touched. Pathetic - Surely there are teenagers around who could earn a few bucks. Who do I go to, call for complaints?

Almost 4 months and my dad's Korean War grave marker is still in not in place. Our family is terribly disappointed . It is Memorial Day!
