A not-so-hidden gem!

There is ample parking, plenty of space to spread out to read or work, and an overall bright and cheerful atmosphere.

The programming for all ages is wonderful, and easy to learn details about by the print flyers at the info desk and online.

The library is clean and tidy, both in the common spaces, the restrooms, private study rooms and the book shelves.

The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It is apparent that they welcome all people. They seem glad to be there. The cops who walk around the building look friendly and approachable and often chat with kids.

I really like the artwork displayed through the year.

I am thankful for the ability to put books on hold and have them for curbside pickup.

I am proud this place is in my community.

I love this library. They have lots of resources, the staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable. The in house lectures by authors are really fun. Many activities for all members of the family. They are doing things right.

I've enjoyed the library since I moved here in 2016. I utilized services during grad school. My grand children ask to go to the library. In addition, the library gives free feminine hygiene products to patrons. They have an area for the homeless to warm and cool during extreme weather! They have snacks also, and the book sale is awesome! Yeah Library Team!

Busy place!! Parking was limited so I used DBRL handy option of drop-off box for returns and curbside pick-up for books on hold. All done in less than 5 minutes!!

Staff is always friendly and helpful. The books I want to read are always available. They have a nice ramp off the back parking lot to get in the building too.

This library has beautiful artwork, bright and open spaces, and is always clean and relaxing. It's one of my favorite places! Special thanks to librarians, who have been put through hell these last few years... We appreciate you!

Great library, lots of fantastic people work here. There are tons of great programs and events here, like teen nights, folk music, quilt show, kids programs, and plenty more - there’s really something for everyone. I would say this is one of my absolute favorite libraries. There is a coffee/snack kiosk inside, lots of great areas for both quiet reading/study and casual socialization with other patrons. There are private study rooms available. Great selection here as well.

I just went in to pick up a couple of things, of which one was a book I'd put on "hold" for pick-up when available. It was a book that a child had seen somewhere, I used the app to see if it was at DBRL, and ordered it after seeing it was. I got notification when it was available and showed the notice to the lady at Check Out and she got it for me. (If you don't have the notice with you, you can give them your card number and they can look it up).

A great library. Tonight I had a series of unfortunate events where I thought I may have left my purse in the library, but didn't find it. It turned out to be shoved into the bottom of my backpack, but when I went to leave, I suddenly couldn't find my key. The officer and staff stayed with me until my partner could pick me up, which took about 45 minutes. I was very appreciative of their kindness as it was in the negative temperatures Fahrenheit that night. This is an exceptional and caring place. They deserve our respect.

I love my local library!! The library is so helpful and useful, even if I’m not going in! I have Libby and Kanopy through my library card, so I have unending options for movies and audio books. Kanopy honestly has better movie options than Netflix, prime, or Hulu, and it’s free.
(Also, the people are lovely and all of the other community amenities that libraries bring, I just feel like everyone should get a library card and start using kanopy and Libby lol)

High quality library! Book delivery to several remote locations via storage lockers or Bookmobile. Tons of Kindle, Hoopla, and audio books that you can check out any time. Enjoy utilizing the study rooms and the cafe when I am at the Columbia location.

The first unionized library in the state of Missouri! An historic achievement that Columbia should be proud of! Unfortunately library admin still seems to be in opposition to the union (over a year later), but with community support they will hopefully get a really strong contract that could have a positive ripple effect for workers in Columbia and libraries throughout Missouri.

It's so beautiful and relaxing there, I got 3 hrs to read a book there and did a research project and it was quiet and peaceful. Overall I recommend it to all college students who need a quiet place to study.

This is the nicest, most considerately built library. They have short computers for children and comfortable recliner lounge chairs for kids, large sunny windows, a cafe. It’s really nice.

The aesthetic of this library is extremely pleasing! Personally I’ve never been in the library and that large, that I can remember. The employees were all extremely genuine and helpful. The book selection is vast. It was slightly upsetting to have some of the books that I wanted on audio only, but there are other options that easily took their place and I will use the app to listen to the other ones. Would recommend going here

I'm feeling 'SEEN' after our phenomenal visit to DBRL today!! With grandkids in tow, we visited after our homeschool session. This was our second library visit, this summer. I needed to determine procedure for library card duplication; it was confusing. As I explained to my grandson our plans to relax and do ANYTHING besides computers, a DBRL person overheard and asked grandson if he likes robots? His interest immediately piqued and she proceeded to instruct us how to "go check out a robot". Granddaughter wanted one also. As I expressed appreciation to librarian my impatient grandchildren found Erin @ Childrens Desk. She was very helpful in our effort to locate the robots; we learned about the Juneteenth Book Club also. One of the books is by a favorite YA author, J Woodson!! I held back my tears of joy as we checed out of DBRL today, after feeling acknowledged and seen as an local African American community person.

Also, while I say thanks for Erin Swarigan & staff; who had the brilliant idea to give our young readers a loaner cape while they're reading?
So Cool! So Sweet! Thanks!
