Giovanni's Family Italian Restaurant

Great food. I had the baked pasta trio, while my wife had the tortellini alapana with chicken. We both enjoyed our meals enormously. I wished the menu had mentioned the meals came with side salads and garlic knots, as I ordered garlic bread and didn't need to. The garlic bread was pretty good, though. We will definitely be back.

One of the best meals I've ever had in my life! Service and atmosphere were excellent too! The owner was even cleaning tables and checked on every guest multiple times. Hands down one of the best places in the state!!

Arta was great server & friendly & very attentive. (She was Gios daughter).) Loved our experience there, very friendly environment & spoke 2 the owner. Gio came 2 our table & chatted about the business/ food history & loved his passion 4 good food & recipes. hugged my husband & friends husband on the way out even! All the food was all amazing, desserts, house + oil & vinegar dressing w/ salad & entrees! tiramisu & canolis r a must have! Will definitely return thanks guys 4 a great night! lemon chello cake was awesome!

Wow! This place! Lived here 6 years and can't believe we've never been here before. When our big family walked in, we were immediately welcomed with a warm smile and open arms (literally!) from the owner who promptly combined tables to accommodate us. Our server was equally as welcoming and kind. Everyone loved the food (my chicken was a little over cooked, but I loved the place so much I am willing g to give it another try) and we will definitely be going back.

We went there at 7:00pm on Saturday. They were completely packed (every table was full) but there was still available parking (which is always a major plus in my book). When we went in, the room was absolutely filled with happy voices, conversations and laughter from other guests. Walking in genuinely felt like walking into a family gathering where everyone is happy. When we were seated, they did warn us that it would be roughly a 1hr 15min wait and asked us if that would be ok. Considering that all of the food is home made and made per order, which is great considering how many restaurants use mostly frozen food, we decided to wait. I got the Shrimp Scampi (which was about $25) and my boyfriend got the lobster ravioli (which was about $26). Both tasted amazing and were good sized portions. I don't think I have ever had shrimp that good! They have glasses and bottles of wine. Almost all glasses were about $8.50 and the bottles ranged from roughly $35+. The wine we got was also very good. The seats were comfortable, they had both tables and booths. Although the servers were extremely busy, they were still very nice to everyone. Even with it being so busy, all the staff were trying their hardest to make sure everyone was taken care of. I genuinely think this is the best restaurant I have been to. The fresh food, kind staff, lively atmosphere and welcoming feeling make this place amazing.

Ordered Alfredo pasta and a baked pasta, both were good. Their salads are great too. Knotted bread that came with lunch was fresh out of oven. Will be back for sure. Friendly people :)

Just stopped for a quick snack ! Had the cheese bread ! It was so delicious! Loved it so much !

Our former classmates got together today at Giovanni’s for lunch. We had around 12-14 people, most of us, had never been there before. Food was delicious, iced tea very good, and we received little garlic bread knots we our entrees. Side Salad is extra. We also had a garlic cheese bread for an appetizer. Tiramisu and their cannolis were so delicious. It’s a little pricey but well worth it. Service was slow, but just one server today. It was alright, gave us more time to talk. The server was very nice, friendly, and could joke with us. A very pleasant day indeed.

This was my first time dining at this establishment and I am absolutely in love! The portions are worth the price and are genuine. Everything was flavorful and had a homey feel to them. The staff was brilliant and extremely attentive. If you want delicious Italian food, this is the place to go.

The best Italian I've had in Cincinnati! I had the pasta combo with lasagna, manicotti, and a stuffed shell. OMG - it was DELICIOUS!! Entrees also include a side salad and garlic knots.
We arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday and waited about 20 minutes to be seated. When we went to order, our server informed us the kitchen was backed up and our food could take up to an hour. We said that was fine and expected a long wait for our food. Our food came out within 20 minutes!

We were greeted and seated right away. The service was great. I ordered spinach ravoli in marinara sauce. I do not normally do not like that type of sauce, but their sauce was delicious and so fresh tasting. If you like Italian or always wanted to try Italian, this is the place to go to.

Best Italian food around. Try the Trio or Chef's special and come back to try the rest. The food is always fresh and delicious. The sauce is authentic. Whether you are looking for a family dinner or date night, you can't go wrong with Giovanni's.

The food at this place is phenomenal. We took a party of six to eat here for my Dad's 80th birthday. None of us had ever been here, but it came recommended.

They do not take reservations and seating is limited to maybe 60 people, so if you come with a party of six, then you will wait until people with a suitable table depart. We arrived at 6 for that reason, but had to wait half an hour to be seated.

If there's a wait to get in, then it's guaranteed that the kitchen's backed up. Our food took an hour to come out. But it was some of the best Italian food I've had. The cheese tortellini fed me for two days. Entrees are $20-$30 and include a side salad and parmesan bread twist things that are delicious. They also have wine and a full bar.

The service was very good. They were attentive and let us know the ETA of our food. I ticked the atmosphere a bit lower. There is no hostess and people just gather inside of the front door. I felt like I was being watched by the peanut gallery. I know I was watching a couple of tables before we were seated.

Drove 2 hours to surprise our son for his birthday. Probably the best Italian food I've eaten!!! The garlic rolls are amazing!

Amazing, amazing, amazing food. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but believe me it was worth every minute. You can tell the food is made fresh, and with love. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend the lasagna.

We scheduled a family outing for 6 that was centrally located for all of us and we chose the Cheviot area off of I-74...Giovanni's wasn't crowded on a Wednesday night thus parking wasn't an issue. We were immediately greeted and seated and our waitress was a delightful and very handy with here recommendations.
It's obvious to me large family groups of 10 to 12 can be accommodated.
The Trio Delight was fabulous and I had to ask for a takeout box. My wife's Fettuccine Alfredo in a butter cheese white sauce was perfect with just the right amount of garlic and Shrimp Scampi was excellent as well. Overall a great family meal at Giovanni's restaurant. Dinner rolls and side salads were good to. Serving Coca-Cola products and the wine varieties are many...
P.S. Almost forgot get a Cannoli after dinner if you have room for it...
We'll definitely return to this location as my brother mentioned he'll probably visit for a lunch now an again.

Their calamari is fantastic! Their pasta are made from genuine Italian ingredients. The atmosphere is a bit outdated but what isn't nowadays. However, their tiramisu dessert has an American twist... Too much chocolate syrup drizzled over it. It wasn't indulgent.

Giovanni’s is one of the if not the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. Everything is so fresh and made to order. Garlic bread with cheese is phenomenal and the sauce that comes with it is delicious. My wife loves the chicken fettuccine alfredo and I had the fettuccine carbonara which was outstanding. Service was awesome . We will definitely add Giovanni’s on the list of our favorites and dine there more often.

My husband and I are from Germany and love authentic Italian food. We ordered something to take out from Giovanni's. We had the Stuffed Shells and the Rigatoni, both came with a small side salad and Garlic Knots. The food was delicious and perfect for a cozy Sunday evening on the couch!
What impressed us the most was Giovanni's incredible hospitality. There needs to be more people like him in this world. - We would love to come back!

This is the best family owned Italian I've ever had. It's soothing to know Cincinnati is where it's at, my hometown. The son of the restaurant is very welcoming and friendly, he was our server yesterday. The atmosphere is warm and perfect for families. The food is fresh, authentic, flavorful, and very appetizing. In the pictures is a lunch spaghetti and meatball - portion on point. Also a dinner style spaghetti and meat sauce entree with a side of the best garlic rolls ever - made fresh! The son told us that there is a flour shortage so they are can't make them anymore soon - so get your butts over to Giovanni's to have these mouth-watering rolls. Wait time for food is alittle long but to be expected with everything made fresh and worth the waits. First time here and not our last. Thanks for a real Italian restaurant.
