Basil & Rose

Basil & Rose is a place very near and dear to my heart now. 3 years ago, or so, we were driving past and I saw a beautiful sign with a watering can design that said "Basil & Rose" I gasped, those are edible plants! I was not disappointed when we went in and I've loved it ever since.
I've come to know the store owner Beuna quite well and she always wears plant themed clothing and is constantly trying something new to better her store and for the growth of her customers. Trying new suppliers, plants, classes, and always making her business known on social media. She's an incredible person, soft-spoken, intelligent, with a tongue-in-cheek kind of humor. You won't ever be steered wrong if you ask her opinion or knowledge on something. I'm quite proud to call her my friend.
After I failed in the garden this year I finally went in for something other than seeds (which she has many amazing varieties to choose from, ones I haven't seen at other stores) and asked her about making soil for raised beds. We got the supplies from her like local manure compost and built amazingly healthy beds. She supports local businesses and Utah businesses, which I've always appreciated.
Every item in the store is garden themed or for use in the garden, it stays true to the spirit of being a plant parent. Not to mention the starts I get here are always healthy and happy compared to buying from big box stores, and it's almost always uncommon or rarer plants she sells.
I wish her a speedy recovery and hope that Basil & Rose opens again soon!

This place is awesome, I wish i had discovered it sooner! I had been wanting to learn about gardening when I heard about this store, so I went to see.They sell tons of different seeds and lots of art and decor from local artists. The owner is also so nice and helpful. They also offer really cool classes at amazing prices. I attended the edible landscaping class held here, and it was amazing to be able to learn so much. I will definitely be taking more of their classes, and coming back to shop.😁

I love coming into this store! Not only is it the best stop for organic gardening needs, but the wealth of free knowledge is astonishing. She genuinely cares for your success in whatever you are doing. Locally sourced and environmentally friendly products throughout as well. I honestly stop by every 2 weeks now and don't plan on stopping!

I am enchanted by the safe and magical atmosphere the owner has created here. With all the nonsense happening in the world it is so wonderful to be in a place where everyone is welcome and gardening advice so freely given. She offers very informative classes to the public throughout the week. I have been gardening since I was 5 and have never had such a bountiful harvest as I have since applying her proven methods.
Gardening makes sense out of life..keeps you grounded... and this little store is an asset to anyone looking to create or experience a small piece of Heaven on earth.

It took me way too long to get into this amazing store. Beuna, the owner is a genius when it comes to growing things, and growing things the natural way! If you have gardening or yard care needs, look no further. What really made this visit even better was the awesome selection of amazing herb and plant inspired gifts and decor. I bought the most awesome egg gathering apron for my children and some delicious freeze dried pineapple. This place is a gold mine of goodness.

I absolutely love this shop. You can find a variety of gardening "tools" and accessories. There are books and oils, as well as, cute gardening gifts. In addition to all that you can take classes at this shop! Learning to make sourdough bread to best gardening practices. Love, love, love this store!

Basil & Rose is such a fantastic shop! I love being able to find Baker Creek seeds and unique plants locally!! I love perusing for gifts, books, and hope to take a class in the future!

This is the best garden shop in Davis County! Beuna Tomalino is a WEALTH of knowledge about gardening. I hired her to come to my house and give us ideas of what to do with our yard. She sketched out a few options with plant recommendations- she answered all our questions and even shared ideas beyond what we knew to ask about. Plus her shop is DARLING! So many fun gift ideas and helpful things for improving your Utah garden.

Such a charming store. I could have stayed there all day. Such unique and interesting items. Very well organized and great presentation! An awesome place to shop for yourself or grab a gift for a friend. And Beuna, the store owner, really knows her stuff when it comes to herbs and gardening. I will return often!

I can't believe it took me so long to stop by and discover this lovely shop right in my neighborhood! And they sell way more than just decor and gifts--compost, pots, tools, books, plant starts, and more. And knowledge and advice was shared freely!

A really nice place to be. Truly organic gardening shop. There are books for adults and children and even some clothes. There are also some really interesting classes on things like cheesemaking and homemade sourdough bread.

I love Basil & Rose. I have learned so much about gardening and found new things to grow, in the house and outside. I have taken classes and learned about growing microgreens, medicinal plants, edible plants, sourdough bread making and use of ancient grains. There are cute things for gardening and things just to enjoy. There are also dried foods in snack sizes, and she sells home food freeze dryers and can tell you so much about using it.
