For a park with free admission, I don't know how you can go wrong. Two of the engines/cars were open for going inside. The store carries water and drinks without gouging the prices. Train ride does two laps and they take cash or credit. Last time we were there children were $3 and adults $4.

Good place for kids especially toddlers! The train ride is a must! Lots of parking. Easily can spend 2 hours here walking around and they have bunch of picnic tables or you can have a picnic on the grass area. You can bring your toy train since they have a train track inside one of the building. Or you can buy a train in the gift shop. Overall, good experience for my toddlers.

We are huge fans of The Travel Town Railroad. Spent a gorgeous afternoon among the old time engines. What a gem. The small train ride was cool. The gift shop was nice and we picked up a couple of souvenirs. I will definitely be bringing the kiddos back many times over.

It's so cute here! It's free and there is a parking lot. Has a handful of interesting train displays and historical blurbs. You can walk onto a few of them and check them out. Has a small gift shop, but it's very children oriented, wish they had more gifty trinkets. There is a small train ride for a fun whimsical time. Reminds me of a train station in Fallout 4 lol

So much fun! I expected to spend an hour here but ended up spending at least 2 hours. We could have easily spent more. There are areas to have picnic and parking is free. Train ride is a few dollars and I believe it goes around twice. ($7 for one adult and one child)

PROTIP: BRING TOY TRAINS FROM HOME. There is a train set area and everyone brings their own Thomas the Engine, etc. from home. If you forget or don't, you can get one from the gift shop if your child is upset. A few kiddos were upset so to save yourself the trouble, try to bring a train or two from home. My child doesn't care about trains and I still had to get one from the giftshop.

Brought a big group of kids, with their parents, for an end of summer field trip. Kids are really thoroughly enjoying all the train cars and being able to interact with some of the train stuff. Great place for train enthusiast young and old.

Loved the upkeep on the trains. The kids are able to go inside and explore the trains. They have a train ride. Entrance to travel town is free, but you can donate.

Very nice locomotive displays for children and adults . Parking is free as is the entry. There's a small scale train for children to board and get an overall ride of what it feels like to be a conductor.

As a child my father would bring me here. How I used to enjoy coming here every time. Now that I have a son. I've been bringing him here. And he loves it.

Amazing experience for the kids who loves trains. It’s free. There is a Mini Train ride which is $4/$3 and it’s makes the lil ones’ day even more fun.

Some of the trains are currently being repainted, so you won’t be able to access certain areas of the hangar. Still plenty to see and some trains you can even enter and touch stuff. The mini railroad is always working. Last ride is 30 minutes before closure, adult ticket is $4, children under twelve - $3. Also this is a great place for picnicking, and it can also be reserved for groups in advance!

My son and his wife selected this venue for 2nd birthday party for their train-enthusiast son, Riley.
It was a wonderful time had by all !

Travel Town and the Griffith Park Railroad was a fun way to spend a few hours of the weekend looking at trains up close and riding on a scaled down version. There’s numerous locomotives that you can get up close to along with plenty of passenger cars that you can walk through. Most of the engines and cars have had their equipment removed but you can really appreciate the sheer size of these train up close. Would recommend Travel Town over the smaller Griffith Park Railroad (they’re both the same organization) since Travel Town has exhibits and trains on display while south of the zoo, they only had the train ride.

Very nice place. Plenty of parking ( and it's free). Entrance is also free the train ride is only 4 Dollars adult and 3 for kids. This place is full of history and legends. I'm sure the little ones will love this place as much as my toddler did.

Such a fun place to visit within Griffith Park!! Had to ride the train with friends :) and got a tour of the restoration work being done on the older train cars as well! Volunteers are so nice and knowledgeable, and love to talk about the trains in the park. Seems like a great place to host a party, or just to enjoy a sunny afternoon!

Who knew 3 grown adults could have so much fun looking at trains?

This is something to do with anyone of all ages! It’s some cool history surrounded by a bunch of nature.

If you’re looking to pass sometime, this is a must!
