Beautiful mountain peak in Colorado Springs. Easy to get to, you can drive all the way to the top. Beautiful views, great summit house with food, a museum, and gift shop. At 14k ft above sea level, hypoxia is a real thing. Not too hard to deal with, just be prepared to move slow and breathe hard while at the top!

Must see and enjoy this spectacular place. Be careful of attitude sickness, and drink plenty of water and walk slowly. The drive up is unbelievable with all the different levels of the forest, pines, clouds, rock, and snow.

We shared the famous doughnuts and a polish sausage hot dog for snacks. The got a couple of keepsakes at the gift store. The new building is clean and very well laid out with ample restrooms.

Beautiful views and amazing experience visiting! If you are heading up on the Cograil note: be conscious of the weather, the temperature in the peak is 20-25 degrees higher than Manitou Springs. The elevation is no joke, despite all the warnings it really hits you hard, so be ready to feel a bit weird up there, drink plenty of water during, before and after. Up at the Peak the food was ok but the donuts were worth it, definitely try them! Also note they are always on time and will leave you if you do not make it, either down at the station or up at the Peak! Overall amazing experience!

Second time being on the summit and boy howdy it has changed in 20 years.
The new summit house is really beautiful and the fresh donuts were delicious. 😋
So glad we made it up on a Tuesday, I can only image how packed it is on weekend.

We didn’t know their were reservations to park up top, but actually preferred parking at the 16 mile shuttle lot. The shuttle drivers were very entertaining.

Looking forward to visiting during the off-season and riding the cog railway up.

Pike's Peak is just one of those places you have to visit if you are ever planning a trip to Colorado Springs. I really like the fact that you can eat a donut while you are up high in the sky, staring in awe at the Rocky Mountains. The Visitor Center nearby was quite recently renovated and looks great. The views, in turn, just speak for themselves. Although it is quite the trip to get to the summit, the stunning scenery and wildlife will make up for it. There are also plenty of souvenirs you can purchase as a reminder of your enterprise up the 14,115 foot mountain.

Wow! Beautiful building in an incredible location. Pikes Peak Summit it stunning and the visitor center is a very comfortable and welcoming place. You must try their famous donuts! 🍩 Bathrooms were very clean, along with the caffe. The gift shop was also very nice. The glass all around the building allows you to enjoy the view with a break from the wind. Overall very nice experience.

Reaching 14000 ft in peak winter months of Jan is no mean feet! We were lucky to have awesome weather and bright sunshine.

After take a walk around summit , going into visitor center and drinking cappuccino was like heaven! The place has good size cafeteria and nice museum.

Cherish the view of the summit and enjoy your trip! Make sure to take warm clothes 😁

Taking the train up Pikes Peak was definitely worth the time & money. We had so much fun! Don’t miss out on donuts 🍩 at the summit!! Skip the line at the gift shop (they have all the same stuff at the gift shop at the bottom). Spend your time taking pictures rather than standing in line!

Buy a tee shirt, get a coffee with a pastry, watch a movie, and warm up from the chilly death defying view.

A wonderful little gift shop and food stop at the very tip top of Pikes Peak! Everyone in Colorado should find time to take this drive up a beautiful mountain. The views are absolutely stunning and it's one of the few fourteeners you can summit in a car! They are building a new summit house so I will have to go back next summer to check that out too!

The new remodel sure is a huge improvement!! There are so many places now to safely walk and take photos and the welcome center has lots of info and interactive screens. More than we even have time to see before the train has to leave again. You only get about 30 min because they want everyone back out before altitude sickness has a chance to set in, so we didn’t get to experience it all but it sure is good looking. We got the donuts, looked over the shop and browsed the walkways outside before boarding again. Super cool experience and worth the time and money!

The historical mountain donuts are $7 and you should get one if you hike up. When we were there weather came in and they told everyone who drove up to start back down now. It's better to hike to the top of Pikes Peak.

Currently under renovations for a new summit building. Be patient folks as they are working hard. Beautiful views and wonderful trinkets to buy. Heads up, you will need a long sleeve or jacket at the summit. If you forget one they always have some up at the gift shop for sale.

YOU HAVE TO GET THE DONUTS AND HOT CHOCOLATE! This is a tradition in our family but we always get the donates and dunk them in our hot chocolate at the top of the peak. They are delicious and it gives you a chance to sit down and get used to the altitude a bit while you eat them. They are currently building a new summit house so there is very limited parking up top and its only for people with a disabled license plate or hanging sign or for people with kids in car seats. Everyone else has to take a shuttle from either mile 13 or 16. But the views from here are so worth it.

The Summit House is a beautiful, modern building with restrooms, a gift shop and an unexpected food court that offers a variety of foods and drinks to choose from. Not sure why one would travel to 14,000+ feet to go inside and eat a meal, but the food court was full. To each their own. The views from the multitude a walking paths and lookouts were 360° and spectacular. Enjoy your time at the Peak!!!

Great! I WAS there 20 years ago & the new Cafe is great. Even though it's bigger/ added on to, there are so many people in the cog train, it's full on the weekends it's busy/Very Busy.

2nd time here at Pikes Peak, this time we drove to the top.last time we took the railroad. Both were great experiences. It has construction going on so you couldn't go out on the lookout. But the gift shops was open and had other places to look out at the mountain views. I Would go again.

Amazing views and probably the best cappuccino I’ve ever had, unfortunately the donut machine wasn’t working during our visit so we didn’t get to try those but everything else was amazing. A must see in the area!
