Can’t say enough good things about the company and my experience today! Went solo without the hubby as I love fishing and he wanted to ski and I did not. Matt was my guide and he was so attentive and instructional and helped me be successful landing fish my first time ever doing it! I brought three nice ones in and lost two bigger ones (my error as a first-timer) but the whole experience is amazing and these guys are first class. Ladies, don’t be afraid to try it without the hubby or boyfriend- just go! But only go with this company and you won’t be disappointed.

My husband wanted to go fly fishing and take me with him and I had ZERO desire. I went with him once in Montana and did not like it at all. Tom (our guide) literally was an incredible teacher and he made me FALL in love with the sport and I found so much joy in it! We caught all lot of fish and fought with some BIG ONES! These people are So passionate about their art and they do an incredible job! Only place we will do business with! Thank you Tom! This was an unforgettable day!

My son and I had never fly fished before and our guide Ray did an excellent job teaching us all the basics and then some. We both caught some beautiful Rainbows. Ray was a fantastic guide, very helpful, patient and super knowledgeable. Highly recommend Aspen Outfitting for local fly fishing in Aspen and ask for Ray to be your guide!

What a great experience! I have been to Aspen many times and used this company for other activities but never for flyfishing. I started my day with an experienced guide, Lawrence, and he took me to Woody Creek to fish for trout! I loved that they put one guide with only one to two customers. Lawrence was patient and so knowledgeable. Loved his passion for fishing and the outdoors. He was so good at “reading” the fish so when they were feeding on top he would change gear and the same when they were feeding below. As you can see from the photos we had a very successful morning! Including a visit from a beautiful deer! What a great experience, highly recommend if you are looking for a great activity in Aspen!!

What an AMAZING Experience!! Our guides Mal & Marty were OUTSTANDING! They were professional, knowledgeable and helped my 3 brothers and I with everything we needed during our fly fishing excursion to ensure we had a great time. My dad and I booked a fly fishing trip with Matt and we were both beyond thrilled with our experience (besides a few fish getting off the hook lol). We would suggest Matt for his wealth of knowledge and lightheartedness. 10/10 would recommend

Wow, just wow. First time fly fishing for my wife and I with absolutely zero knowledge and experience. Ray was our guide and he was the friggin man! Taught us the basics of what we needed to be effective for the short time we had (half day). Within an hour of instruction and fishing my wife caught a trout with great coaching from Ray we brought it in. Rays enthusiasm was awesome, he was just as excited as us. We continued the day and caught a few more, hooked a ton but lost a few as expected. Very professional facility, with guides who are just as excited as you to land a fish is really awesome to see. Highlight of our 10 day Colorado road trip for sure.

Went out on my first winter trout fishing adventure. I was a little skeptical with the weather, but they assured me it would be a great day. It was. 16 for 21 and my guide Matt did a great job keep the bite active. Looking forward to doing this again.

Nicky my guide was fantastic! This was only my third time fly fishing and his guidance and patience was remarkable. I caught 4 Rainbows and a Brown in various different water conditions and techniques. I really enjoyed the fishing and our time getting to know each other. I also was extremely impressed with his passion for the sport. Every catch I think he was just as excited and pumped that I was!

This is a great outfitter! Jared had everything setup and organized and Mal my guide was unbelievable. I caught a fish within the first 20 minutes!!! I hooked 7 and landed 4. The three I missed was my fault not Mal’s. If your I the area give this outfitter a try!!

We booked a fly fishing trip with Tom and a clay shooting outing with Karl. We had so much fun. My wife was new to both fly fishing and shooting guns — both guides took the time to walk her through every step of the process and ensure she was comfortable. And of course by the end she outshot and outfished me.

We contacted Aspen Outfitting right as they were returning from a company retreat. Jarrod and I played a game of phone tag over a few hours as we were both busy, but we so appreciated that he understood what we were looking for, found time with his stellar team, and made the “onboarding” super easy for waivers, payments, etc.

I had the opportunity to fish for 2 days with Cian and had a blast! I consider myself seasoned fly angler in Pennsylvania and still learned some new methods and had to shake some old habits. Cian was a great instructor, knew exactly where the fish would be sitting, telling me what I needed to change, and most importantly explained the why behind everything. That is how you learn! Hats off to you, Cian!

My parents also had a blast, my mom only ever touching a fly rod a handful of times. I think no matter who you get for a guide here and regardless of your skill level and knowledge of fly fishing, you'll have a great time!

We had an awesome time winter fishing on the Roaring Fork with Aspen Outfitting Co! Aspen Outfitting equipped us with all the gear and knowledge we needed to stay warm and enjoy a beautiful day on the river. For my first time out, I was excited to catch my first fish on a fly! My boys and i had a terrific morning with Aspen!! Flinn and Tom, our guides, were wonderful - helpful, positive and great teachers to us novices. They were almost as excited as we were when we brought in our trout! Back in August and hope another outing!

Mal and Jarred were extremely helpful and patient with me on my first fly fishing trip. Mal was great sharing his knowledge and years of experience when we were in the water and snagging the fish. Would highly recommend and I plan to return Great Day!

While walking in the St. Regis hotel, I noticed this fly shop was advertising winter fly fishing. I came to Aspen to ski, but was pleasantly surprised to learn that there is winter fly fishing available in March. I booked a half day in early March 2023 and had a wonderful and productive outing with my guide Mal. They provided all gear and clothing to make the day memorable and productive. Highly recommend and will fish with them again.
