Buttermilk Ski Resort

We have skied and hiked Ajax, Snowmass, and the Highlands a number of times. Other than eating at the BBQ place at the base of Buttermilk, we have never skied this mountain before until today. As expert level skiers, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this mountain. No, it is not challenging, but there is tons of sidecountry tree skiing, and the powder stays in there for days after a storm. Buttermilk to us felt like a mini version of Beaver Creek or Deer Valley. This is a great place to learn how to ski.

Children and beginner friendly mountains and ski resort. Allowing all level of skier or snowboarder to ski together here in one giant mountain. Parking is walkable and the summit has great restaurants with views by gondola

We didn't know what to expect, because my 12 yr old wanted to learn to snowboard. This is a great mountain for beginners up to expert class skiing. The lodge is so comfortable and relaxing after a day on the slopes. The food is great, the atmosphere is perfect, and the entire staff and people skiing made it a wonderful experience for my family on vacation. We'll be heading back real soon!

Great place to visit with your family for ski easy acces

The best slopes to cruise! Staff was exceptional and we were lucky to have a bluebird day that was uncrowded during the week. Never waited long to get the lift.

Not too crowded, a good amount of varied terrain and nobody seems to ride the trees, so dip into them for some fresh powder!

Great beginner mountain! Top notch program with the Ski Patrol and trainers for all ages.

A fun atmosphere provided by the host resort for the Winter XGames. The tunes are bumping at each ski lift. The runs are mellow enough for beginner and intermediate skiers/snowboarders. You can find a challenge in their terrain parks.

Did not stay overnight there but ski & snowboarding. Great combinations of trails and opportunities to goof around. Small parking, but if you circle around, you will eventually find a spot. If not, take a bus.

In my opinion Buttermilk Ski Area is a favorite among locals and tourists alike it has a great atmosphere for all who enjoy the outdoors in Colorado’s exceptionally beautiful Rocky Mountains, and with great food and drinks at the bottom I would give it ten stars,’ if possible if you can come here definitely make it happen you will not regret it

Buttermilk was our favorite mountain of the Aspen / Snowmass options. Because there is limited onsite lodging, crowds are smaller here. There are less Black Diamond runs, but tons of great Greens + Blues for intermediate skiers. Grab some BBQ at the base for lunch.

I love the way Aspen is set up. The resort is definitely one you will remember after skiing several throughout Colorado. I'm from Colorado, grew up in Colorado and used good skiing, but this resort is one of the better ones to ski.

Nice intermediate mountain. Not crowded. Friendly area. Lots of kids having fun.

First time in Aspen. This was a nice and quite ski resort with friendly staff and everything is right there. Most convenient and no lines at the lift. Highly recommended.

They were very organized with the bus system

Wonderful resort. Some very long leisurely runs to enjoy the scenery too. Not as large as snowmass, but much less crowded. 💗💗💗

Cliffhouse has an incredible view. Irish Coffee on the deck is the best!!

These slopes have a great variety of terrain and skill level for all types of skiers. Enjoyed seeing different views as well from the many scenic parts of the mountain.

Great place for beginners, with a lot of long greens. Also a bunch of easy blacks away from the crowds and with a lot of powder.

This is the location for the Winter X Games! Great crowd and fun atmosphere. Highly recommended to people of all ages!
