Mawa's Kitchen

This place is incredible! I took my son for a mommy and me day and we decided to start our day here. We are both huge fans of breakfast and it was FANTASTIC to say the least. We both agreed it was the best breakfast we have ever had… and we eat breakfast out a lot!!! Service was great as well! We will definitely be back next time we come through!

I was headed to catch a flight back home and had to stop by to what I hear is the only black owned restaurant in Aspen. So it was a must and it did not disappoint! Here are my thoughts:

Environment
Located not too far from the airport in what is considered to be like an airport business area its very accessible to folks coming in to town. Although it's not located in the dainty downtown area it has plenty of character. It's a beautiful restaurant with a lot of character. Plenty of dining space with a whole other section that includes a lounge section. They also have a full bar area.

Service
Very friendly from the moment that I entered the space. Very welcoming and accommodating and always approached with a smile. Really enjoyed the service and everyone made sure I had everything that I needed.

Food and Drinks
I had the pancakes and scrambled eggs w/ cheese and a mocha. Everything was delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and warm and the eggs were perfectly made. The mocha was just right and was comforting on a cold snowy day in Aspen. The pancakes are high on my list for my favorite.

Overall
If i ever find myself back in Aspen this will be the first place I go and the first place I recommend to anyone. I enjoyed myself and loved the food and the space. Don't walk here, run here (well first get use to the elevation and then run here lol)

Amazing food and beautiful decor. I’ve gone for breakfast and dinner. The drinks are so good too my favorite is the coconut one.

The food looks great and the taste is awesome. The sauce is fantastic with different layers of flavors, one of the best brunch I have ever had.

What an incredible gem! The food is out of this world. And, more than worthy of its Michelin nod! As a person with celiac, the menu was incredibly gluten free friendly and the flavors and service were out of this world. An absolute must visit in Aspen.

Enjoyed a delightful breakfast at Mawas near the Aspen airport. The huevos rancheros I ordered were delicious, while my wife was thoroughly impressed with the puffy French toast. Our son couldn't get enough of the chocolate pancakes. The coffee and fresh fruit were perfect complements. The standout service coupled with the spacious outdoor patio boasting scenic views made our experience exceptional. Also noted a well-stocked bar for those interested. Highly recommend when in Aspen!

We read about his amazing restaurant before our trip to Aspen and wanted to go for sure. We where so glad we did. The food was so delicious and unique. Our server and all the staff were fantastic. We felt very welcomed. We ordered the bread board, west African gumbo, Mefe with tofu and the spiced chicken berbere. We will definitely come back. I only regret not getting anything to go from their mouth watering desert case.

Amazing experience. We stopped by because our flight from Aspen airport was delayed. We had a great experience. Just 5 min from the airport. The brunch was delicious. My husband had the eggs Benedict and I the vegetarian egg as Benedict, both were just perfect. Eggs soft as they should be. The carrot ginger juice was delicious. Environment is very nice, beautiful bar, and nice view. Good and quick service. Strongly recommend.

We got the fonio batter pancakes (vegan), and they were SO GOOD! 🥞😋 I loved them and ate 1 1/3 of the two before I remembered that I wanted to take a picture. It reminded me of buckwheat pancakes, but they were lighter and fluffier, and they had a much smoother flavor.

We also got the sweet potato hash with egg. It can be ordered vegan with tofu instead. It was so much more flavorful than the menu suggested, and there were tons of spices and flavors with it. Best hash I've ever had.

The staff was patient and understanding with us. We showed up and were a bit sick from the bus ride. They were nothing but smiles while accommodating our needs and taking care of all the other guests.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. I had the exotic mushroom omelette and it was delicious, however I did have a bit of FOMO looking at the eggs Benedict that my other friends ordered. Either way the food was great, the carrot ginger juice was well worth nine bucks, the wait staff and help staff was really amazing. We even moved halfway through the meal to get better shade on the patio and they did not chastise us as I, as an ex server, might have thought about. In reality, a really great place, fairly expensive but expected for being that close to the Aspen airport, and we all left with a smile on our face.

From the moment you walk in you know you are about to have a great dinner experience. The hostess and waiters are attentive/polite; the appetizer and dinner food is DELICIOUS. The meat was tender, sides seasoned to perfection, and portion was worth every penny. (Note the to go bag to savor every bite).

I spent a week in Aspen/Snowmass eating at different restaurants, and this evening by far was the best meal I had (5 Star quality)! I will be returning.

I recommend this place for breakfast and dinning. We spent here Christmas evening and it was delicious (beef Wellington was very good!). For breakfast salmon roe Benedict strongly recommended👍. Must visit for all aspen visitors, it’s real Gem 💎 hidden in front of Buttermilk ski resort. Thank you for service 😊

The most AMAZING meal you can have in Aspen is at Mawa’s! It is a staple to any Aspen trip, with delicious, rich dishes that have heaping portions you’ll never leave without a full and happy tummy! And an amazing selection of desserts too!

Oh. My. Goodness. Next level brunch. Confit duck chilaquiles one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Even the cappuccino was next level, just perfect. Tableside mimosa delicious and the Bloody Mary looked great. Staff friendly and attentive, food came out quickly, great relaxed vibe.

By the way, this is a very easy 6-8 minute walk through a pedestrian tunnel from the Aspen airport (ASE). If you’re waiting for a delayed flight (which, let’s be honest, if you’re flying out of ASE you’re delayed…), do yourself a favor and stroll over here. You’ll hope for a delay every time from now on.

I don’t know if I have ever wrote a review online before but this place is amazing. Best breakfast I have had in a long time. If I lived local I would be there every day.

My cousin and I are working in the Snowmass Colorado area. We had a day off, so we decided to take the bus down valley to Aspen to Mawa's Kitchen for breakfast.
The place is a little hard to find but was worth the journey. Once there we were warmly greeted and seated.
Mawa's has a fully stocked bar and we took full advantage. We ordered Bloody Mary's (they were good and packed a punch) for starters while we perused the menu. The menu is nice and compact, leaning towards a vegetarian vibe. I ordered the Vegetarian Egg White Omelet with Roasted Tomatoes, Cipollini Onions, Spinach and Mushrooms w/ Goat Cheese. My cousin ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict served over Potato Latkes.
While waiting for our food which came out in a good non rushed time frame. This gave us a chance to observe the decor and just the general vibe. I had learned during Black History Month that Mawa's was the only Black Owned Restaurant in Aspen. With my cousin and I both being Black Chefs, this was a must go destination! The seating area is very well decorated, very peaceful environment. The seats were a little uncomfortable, but Im a big dude!
The food was exceptional. Very well prepared and the presentation was well done also, not over the top. I have included pictures of both meals and the seating area.
We enjoyed the experience over all. A bit pricey for breakfast but realize this is Aspen. We took a cab ride back to Snowmass Village. Cost 30 bucks. Make sure you solidify your transportation back and forth. This will enable to totally enjoy this jewel of Aspen!

Unexpectedly great spot for breakfast or brunch. I would not have known the place existed if not been stuck between Aspen and snowmass and looking for a quick bite. They have some outside seating, and an indoors space that you access going through their catering kitchen. The food is high quality and the menu is great for all tastes

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Aspen. They have an excellent service, we will definitely be back again.
Their menu is absolutely amazing, everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Whenever I visit Mawa’s kitchen, it’s always a different culinary experience with their diverse dishes. I enjoyed their uniqueness compared to other places around Aspen. Truly the best restaurant there.

We have a love for good food + annoying food allergies. Mawa's went above & beyond. The fonio pancakes are to die for. The butternut squash hash was the best. 10/10 a must when in Aspen Snowmass.
