Mountain Chalet Aspen

We were blown away by their service. Alan at the desk was super helpful and their breakfast was a pleasant surprise after having regular complimentary breakfast at chain hotels during our road trip. They had two hot breakfast options for the guests that are made to order. Fresh fruits that are continually replenished, juices, teas, coffee and breads and pastries. All served in a spacious dining hall by kind staff.
The hotel has a beautiful pool that we didn’t get to use.
The hotel layout is maze like, but worth it. Bathrooms are nice and clean, and comfortable beds.

What a special little place! Affordable, cozy Aspen stay. Staff was absolutely exceptional - from great dinner recommendations at the front desk (Acquolina - WOW) to the friendliest breakfast service ever. In a wild coincidence, we ended up staying there during the John Denver annual celebration - a joyful singalong in the lobby for hours - so fun!

A beautiful, quaint hotel in Aspen. The breakfast was good and the amenities such as the pool, hot tub, and pool table were great. Cozy atmosphere too.

Older hotel with an amazing location right downtown Aspen! Why pay for a chain hotel in Glenwood Springs when for the same price you can get an economy room at the Mountain Chalet, which includes a delicious breakfast! Friendly staff, dog friendly, comfortable beds, vintage furnishings (some still from 1954 when they opened). Rooms are older with clean and comfortable beds, lots of towels, shampoo and soap (bring your conditioner). The reviews from other people who complain about the price, it’s nothing compared to some of the prices of rooms in Aspen. So great that there’s an affordable hotel in a premium location!

An older hotel and we enjoyed that fact. Parking underneath, walking distance to everything! There's a game room of board games and such. Pool table by the pool. 4 minute walk to the Gondola...which we absolutely enjoyed! Can't wait to stay again!

Such a charming little spot for the traveler on a budget. Staff were amazing and friendly. Amenities were top notch and well maintained

My absolute favourite experience in aspen is going to this hotel I feel like I’m traveling back in time ! It’s designed to be enjoyed this hotel , for sure !

Such a perfect little place to stay in Aspen! I came in late summer and thought it met my needs perfectly. Enjoyed the pool and spa, and lounge room with games & a computer. I had a room without air conditioning which ended up being totally fine. I thought the bathroom in my room was small and cramped, but had adequate amenities and was perfectly clean. I unfortunately did not get to experience the rooftop bar or the breakfast due to leaving early, but I hope to come back for those sometime.

I have stayed at all the ritzy, chain hotels in Aspen and they have nothing on Mountain Chalet. For an authentic Aspen stay, this family owned chalet makes you feel at home like a valued family member. You are only but a stranger once when you choose Mountain Chalet. It is dog friendly; has underground parking; is located in the most prime spot; and has multiple types of rooms to choose from. I will forever choose this gem.

We chose to stay at this place because it was one of the cheapest around/in Aspen and it fit our budget. However, I will say it definitely surpassed our expectations! The rooms were nice and clean, nothing special. Beds were comfortable, and the bathroom a bit small but it was fine. The location is great, being at short walking distance from almost anything in the city, but I suppose that comes with the smallness of Aspen.

The breakfast was probably one of the highlights, as they serve a different special/entree each day (on the days we were there they had scrambled eggs with sausage, eggs benedict, and veggie omelet) and they also have a great selection at the bar to choose from (all of which tasted great!), even a machine to make freshly squeezed orange juice! Also, the kitchen staff are attentive and make sure you enjoy your breakfast.

The place has some nice amenities like a swimming pool, jacuzzi, lobby with complementary coffee and cookies, and computers with access to a printer. TV in the room also had plenty of good channels so we could relax for a bit and enjoy some good shows/movies during our down time

Also, we went hiking and camping around the area and then stayed another couple of nights when we came back. They allowed us to leave our car parked in their garage for all of that time, which was nice of them.

Overall very pleased with this place and would definitely stay here again if I ever came back to Aspen!

An adorable chalet in the heart of Aspen. They thought of every accommodation, breakfast eggs change every morning, The pool is heated so it's year-round which I did not expect. Sauna, hot tub, game room, homemade cookies in the lobby. Expect a vintage Swiss look, It is an older building. Walking distance to everything. Staff helpful at all times. A down to earth place to go.

I freaking LOVE this hotel. Definitely my first choice in Aspen regardless of budget.

Susan and Bob made the experience beyond pleasant! After 5 days of backpacking they let us store our packs and take a shower while our rooms were getting ready. The breakfast was great, hot tub, sauna, pool, game room, close to town, couldn’t ask for more! Excellent customer service!

The Mountain Chalet Aspen was a very nice place to stay at in Aspen! The room was clean and everything was working properly, TV (numerous channels), water pressure in the shower and sink. Nice amenities like a fitness room, heated outdoor pool, jacuzzi, saunas, however these were not operational during our time there. There was a game room with a pool table also. They breakfast was great every morning and included.! There was tight limited parking under the property that you had to navigate to, so big sized vehicles would not work. There was an elevator from the parking level to all the other floors though. We appreciated the staff, because they allowed us to watch 2 dogs for a short period of time prior to my son's wedding. We had to pay a pet fee of $30, which was fine. The hotel has the big park in front and it is very close to the pedestrian walkway. Also the hotel is within walking distance to the cable ride up to Aspen Mountain. We would definitely consider staying here in the future. So high marks for the hotel.

If you're looking for Aspen glitz and glamour.,...go somewhere else. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, center of town, friendly spot with excellent staff, and terrific hot breakfast, comfortable beds, plus some furnishings that could have belonged to your grandma, this is your place. We loved it!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We reserved the Garmisch room which has a king sized bed which was perfect for us. I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The food and portions were more than I expected. I highly recommend staying here unless you're one of those crybabies like the post before who wanted everything to be super modern and perfect. Sure, a few things could be updated here, but that's not why we came here. We came to Aspen to hike, bike and explore, not stay in our room 24/7. Cheers

The Chalet was great. The pool was heated and we spent time there day one. The location is great too. The prices were the best in all of Aspen. The breakfast is included, but was served to us, just like a restaurant...On the flipside - the place is dated- some of it gives it charm, but some just shows the age. Also, do not go with a big SUV like a Suburban in the parking lot underneath! It super tight. So, overall, despite parking size, I have to give it a top rating because of excellent location, the best pricing in Aspen and the great people that work there - from the receptionist, to the food servers, to the cleaning lady they are friendly and dedicated. We had a great getaway with the spouse, I hope you do as well.

This hotel is a hidden treasure. It is a little worn but they are able
to make it part of the charm. The rooms and facilities are clean and comfortable and the free served breakfast is delicious! In addition to the plated breakfast (menu changes daily) they have fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and other breakfast options. I would highly recommend.

My first time at this hotel. The lobby has súper friendly people,(And hot drinks and cookies!) I requested another night and they accommodated me! The staff in the dining room at breakfast time were super nice, the server was Javier, service oriented guy! We recommend this place!!! Thumbs UP! !
