Richmond Public Works Department

We had one of the tornadoes go through our neighborhood. The Dept of Public Works was there and had completed a street clean up of all the fallen trees and debris within 1-2 days. Given the amount of damage throughout the city, we were pleased with the quick clean up. Separately, the bulk pick up process works much, much more smoothly than it did a few years ago.

I wanted to thank the people at our Public Works Department for their
prompt service in replacing my damaged Supercan. I emailed their offices
and then placed a call to the offices to find out what I needed to do.
They told me to expect the new can in two weeks or so. I was pleasantly
surprise to see the new Supercan delivered and the old one removed in
less than a week. Thank you for your prompt professional service.

This poor review is based on the inability to speak with anyone at this department. I am sure understaffing is the cause but ultimately there should be customer service readily available to customers. I've emailed, filled out the contact form and waited on hold for 30 minutes for consecutive days with no response. It seems that there is no accountability for hold times or incentive to reduce them. I suppose "valued" customers have to go directly to the City Hall location for any support.

City likes to collect exorbitant taxes without fulfilling basic duties like cutting grass in a park in front of my house. Numerous calls and no action taken. Grass is over a foot tall but they clearly don't care.

They towed my pick up truck... No signs were posted on north 31st street 1100 blk.. What's worse me and my wife been on vacation in myrtle Beach since Friday 9/8.

STOP REPLACING THE SIGNS THAT JUST GET MANGLED. BUILD RAISED CROSSWALKS IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT PEOPLE TO SLOW DOWN FOR PEDESTRIANS.
