I absolutely adore Dr. Zemel! He was wonderful. I got my tonsils removed at 35 years old. Although it was a painful surgery, he performed beautifully on me. I am not sick anymore and my quality of life is great. He checked on me and is brilliant. His office needs updating, but he’s a talented and incredible doctor. He’s also very witty, which I appreciate.

I had seen Dr Zemel 9 years ago for horrible dizziness, eye snapping, nausea it was bad. He was very good. Explained everything and I got well. Recently had a mild bout of the same and they made a quick appointment and he explained my situation well and how we will proceed. Old school doctor maybe but I really appreciate how quickly they handled me and his work!

I have to say the condition of the office made me nervous. His wife is too old for this job and obviously has no clue what is going on. The doctor was very nice and helpful. I felt comfortable that he knew what he was doing. Now that I am reading the other reviews I can't remember if he put the utensils he used on me back in the drawer or not. I'll try someone else next I think.

I'm not sure how this office is still in operation. I have never seen anything like this before. I was not sure if I should stay. There is a cognitive concern with the receptionist. She does not appear to be competent. The office is a mess. Old and outdated. Not clean and not sanitary. It looks like they have been trying to remodel for a long time. I couldn't wrap my head around the way the office looked. But Dr. Zemel is
a very nice and helpful doctor. He is old school and I thought this was refreshing. But I cannot say I would go back there. It's sad, and time to put this office to rest.

Please please please take note that there are 2 Otolaryngology doctors in this building that are not affiliated with one another. I will not go into detail concerning my experience with Dr. Zemel's office other than to say I was not comfortable. This was my first visit with Otolaryngology Plastic Surgery Associates located in suite 7 of this building. I went to Dr. Zemel's office (suite 10) thinking this was the correct doctor's office. It was NOT. Although this apparently happens often the receptionist NEVER said I did not have an appointment. She signed me in under the pretense that I was at the right doctor's office. I was not at all comfortable with the condition of the office or with her and something in my gut told me to leave. I even texted my husband while I was there because something did not seem right. I should have left. I went through with the appointment and then came home to see if it was possible that there were 2 doctors in this facility and there ARE. I feel so violated. What they did was wrong and I don't know if it's even possibly criminal. PLEASE make a note that if you have an appointment with Otolaryngology Plastic Surgery Associates they are suite 7 located on the 2nd floor across from Dermatology and Mohs

Who knew there were two ent offices in one complex? I accidentally came into this one and the receptionist practically ignored me when I walked in while she was on the phone. She then told me she tried to call me, to come back in two hrs the dr was at the hospital and got held up. Very bizarre I reluctantly came back as I needed to see someone urgently. I gave her the paper work I had been sent to fill out and she gave me some odd 1980s paperwork that had been photo copied a million times. I pressed her for the address was I at the right place? She ushers me to the patient room to see the dr. It was a horrific site completely unsanitary. The dr comes in and says he can see me but my paper work is for another office up stairs! He was more than happy to see me I could stay. It was all a rouse! The women knew there was no appointment. He hands me my paperwork back I go to the other office and they tell me this happens all the time. To be careful they do try to bill you through insurance. The woman had stolen the form I filled out with insurance info for the other office!

On 5/8/19 I went in to the office for a 3:00 appointment. Upon arrival I noticed horrific and unsanitary conditions of the office. THE OFFICE SHOULD BE CONDEMNED ... it was deplorable! The carpets are black with dirt. The paint is literally peeling off of the walls in the waiting room. Other patient information is strewn all over the receptionist's desk with no privacy whatsoever. The receptionist's clothing was unbuttoned exposing her stomach. The examination room was the worst! The examination chair was rusty and not clean. The equipment looked like it was from the 70's and not sanitary! medical instruments were being stored out on top of the counter and looked as though they had been used on many other people without being cleaned and sterilized. The drywall is crumbling in the hallways as well as in the examination rooms.

When I tried to leave the office and cancel my appointment for fear of contracting some new illness I was verbally assaulted by the receptionist. She refused to give me back my paperwork that I filled out. She said "you asked for the best Doctor, not the cleanest office"... She then offered me to go down the hall and we could use the second examination room which was no better than the first. She stood in my way and refused to move out of my way in order to make me stay and be seen by the doctor. Her final offer to me was "Just let the doctor look at you today and if you're not satisfied with his examination then you will get a FREE follow up visit".

As I was leaving she would not give me back my personal information that I had given her (she was holding it behind her back). I had to literally reach around her and snatch it away from her. She then yelled at me, tried to block the door by continually moving in front of me and threatened to call the police and have me arrested for not seeing the doctor and "stealing" my own documentation back. I then moved around her and left.

I took my sibling to see her doctor here, My sibling has been going there for years. I stepped into the office and the stench and odor overwhelmed me. It smells like mold and water damage. The carpets are stained, not a little bit, but everywhere!! Junk is laying in the back all over the floors. It is absolutely disgusting. Don’t waste your time and go here if you want to be healthy. There is no way I would step foot into this and I’m going to report it to the health department..

Please heed my warning!
I made an appointment to see Dr. Zemel And I got an appointment the same day. Upon arrival I was greeted by the most unprofessional Dr. staff worker I have ever met, clearly she has some sort of mental issues (not being mean) it just makes you feel uncomfortable and she is incapable of doing the job she is there to do.
While filling out my paperwork I sat in the waiting room and I noticed that a lot of the paint was peeling off of the walls. The office is very aged and unwelcoming. After walking back to the room to be seen by the Dr, I was seated in a rusty 1930s era doctor's chair and was wondering when I walked into Pennhurst...(look it up). The room looks like it has not been cleaned and dusted since 1982. Scared... I waited for the Doctor. At this point i wanted to leave but I did not want to be rude. I would regret that decision because at one point the Dr grabs a instrument to hold open my nose out of a drawer then puts it back in the drawer un sterilized (which I only can assume that is common practice there).
Dr. Zemel walked in and as a human being he seems like a very nice person. But he is not a very modern Dr. I recieved no diagnosis which I was not surprised because he only looked in my ears, up my nose and in my mouth at my throat. There was no scope used to check out the lining of my throat. The Dr wanted me to come back in six weeks so I went out to the same receptionist that checked me in. This woman kept trying to schedule me only two weeks away. Finally she told me to write down the date I wanted to come back because she could not grasp after 7 or 8 attempts at telling her that the Dr wanted to see me in 6 weeks.
Please for the love of God do not use this Dr office for your ENT needs.

Please do not go to this place. The front desk receptionist seemed lost and had no idea what was going on. After asking for insurance 3 times and pacing the office to just be told multiple times that my fiancĂ©e did not have insurance something just wasn’t clicking. There “forms” were so unprofessional and misspelled. He got halfway through his “form” and was rushed and told to just sign at the bottom and to not worry about the rest. (Odd).

Then going into the actual room, it seemed so outdated and unclean. The instruments were loose and just thrown into his draw which made me assume they weren’t sanitized due to the lack of the sanitation bags. (I was in dental, I know proper sanitation). There were just so many bad things about this office. Not to mention that our service didn’t even get fulfilled due to the lack of equipment this office had. We were told we did not have to pay yet the receptionist came running after us and yelling rudely after we had already said the Dr. told us no payment since we didn’t receive a service after all of this.

I think the only good thing that came from this experience was the doctor was extremely nice.
Please use caution and look into your doctors.

Heed what other people are saying about this place. Given my experience there, I have no doubt that every word is true.

I never saw this doctor but my experience there was horrific. Zemel is in the same office building as another ENT which I was scheduled to see. I came into his office by accident. It didn't feel right to me because it seemed junked up like they were doing construction.

I asked the receptionist if they were the only ENT in the building. She kept telling me that they were an ENT and gave me no other information, I gave her my insurance card (but not my license - I had forgotten it at home thank God). She insisted to me that I was one of their patients although I have never seen this man in my life. She gave me an unprofessional form to "update" my records. It didn't have the doctor's name on it and the words were crooked, as if it had been repeatedly copied over multiple other copies. That was when I decided that there was something not right about this.

I told her that I was at the wrong ENT office and asked for the copy of my insurance information back. She adamantly refused, saying that once she made a copy it belonged to them. That was when it got really weird.

After witnessing her strange behavior, there was no way I was leaving without that paper. She refused to give it back to me and started yelling. We loudly argued, and that's when it occurred to me that THERE WAS NO ONE else in the office. I pressed her to tell me where the doctor was and she told me it was none of my business. Then, she kept pretending she was shredding the papers. (She had ripped the copy up in 4 pieces, one time even holding them to her chest to keep them away from me.) Finally, she left the papers in the area of the shredder and told me she had shredded them! The situation was so bad I actually called the police but they told me they couldn't do anything.

During the confrontation, she kept telling me to leave the office. I calmly responded that I would leave as soon as she gave me the papers. She pretended to call the police. She also pretended she couldn't hear me a few times. So she could, I moved my mask under my mouth. She started screaming that I was giving her COVID and told me she was going to report me to Grandview Hospital.

While I know nothing about this doctor, that he has this woman in his employment tells me everything I need to know about his judgment. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

Our pediatrition listed this Dr as an ENT. I called and got an appointment the same day and the very strange receptionist said she would call me back if the office would not accept our insurance.

Having received no call I brought my daughter in at the appointed time, stood there while no effort was made to conceal another patient information. Noticed everything looked rather disorganized. Then was told that we could not be seen today and oh yes...the Dr does not actually see children. Something not mentioned when I made the appointment for my child.

On top if that we were not even allowed to use the restroom despite having come in for our "appointment".

Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this office!

Horrible. His license should be revoked. He almost killed my husband during an outpatient procedure and his wife is a hot mess. They are so desperate for patients at this point they steal them from the ENT in the same complex!!! Do yourself a favor - stay away from this man!
