Holiday Inn Express Richmond - Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Very nice stay. Super convenient when visiting local theaters, pubs and restaurants. An Uber can take you in minutes to everything you want to experience nearby. Our agent at check in gave us a restaurant list and deftly handled all the issues with our reservation. Even gave us fresh WARM towels. All staff was friendly, and someone was always there in minutes to the front desk, even in the middle of the night. Building is older, could use some updates but was CLEAN. The bed and pillows were so comfy. The included breakfast had EVERYTHING. We took plates loaded with omelettes, bagels, sausage, biscuits with gravy, pancakes and so much more back to our rooms for breakfast in bed. 9 out of 10. The parking garage has a six foot clearance, but it was FREE!!!

Jon at the front desk is the absolute MVP. We've got family at the hospital unexpectedly, and we were scrambling to find a place for them to stay. After calling several places, Jon answered and got us squared away so they can focus on what counts. God bless that man for his help and kindness. One in a million. 10/10.

I am not local to Richmond, but because my daughter lives down there and I love getting to spend time with her, I find myself searching for accommodations that will give my daughter and I (and sometimes my husband if he can get the time off) to enjoy some quality family time. My first time at this location was on November 7th, so that we could enjoy the Broadway traveling musical show SIX that was performing at the Altria Theater. Being a season subscription holder for these shows means I am on the lookout for a great place to stay that has great service, comfort, security for a reasonable price. I have tried several locations but feel that in comparison, this facility has everything I need to enjoy my time in Richmond, whether for business or leisure. On 11/7/2024, I first met Nia by phone, as I called about a parking question. When I walked into the facility, I met her in person and then also JASON. Nia checked me into my room, and then Jason helped me soon after for an issue that I was VERY THANKFUL for! He totally made me feel heard and also very important as a customer that I haven't felt in a very long time. What surprised me the most about this current stay on Tuesday, Feb 27, 2024, was that Jason welcomed me with remembering I had stayed before and checked me in with first rate care and service. He made me feel as if I was "home away from home" and his welcoming personality contributed to one of the best stays in Richmond yet! I already have my next reservation for my April Tina Turner Musical show! This location is great to many great restaurants, a nice walk from the Altria Theater, and close to museums, and VCU and all that Richmond has to offer! This will definitely be my go to place if I need to stay in Richmond!

While driving from NC to DC, I got tired and needed a decent play to lay my head for the night. I chose this location because I had never been inside of Richmond before. Well, I made an excellent decision. This Holiday Inn came through with flying colors. The front desk rep was cool and checked me in with the quickness. He even gave me a bunch of free water bottles. The room itself was nice and spacious with a good view of Richmond. I loved the gym as well. All in all, my stay was definitely 5-star worthy.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. It is very central to everything, very clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Richmond Virginia is a terrific city. If you are going to Richmond, I'd highly recommend staying at the Holiday Inn.

A brilliant branch of this chain. The staff are absolutely lovely, the room was clean, spacious with plenty of power points (often lacking) and unexpectedly an in room safe as this is not advertised. Breakfast was good, everything that was meant to be hot was and things were replenished regularly. On one morning the orange juice ran out so my husband got something more like water with a faint orange tinge, he mentioned it to the lady running breakfast and she not only immediately dealt with it she actually came and found him to give him a fresh one. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was in town for a wedding & everything was convenient. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. No complaints!

Jason checked us in easily and gave us a great price. He made us feel very welcome and recommended several restaurants in the area for dinner. Laya was so pleasant to talk with as she was replenishing the complimentary hot/cold breakfast the next morning which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The two queen beds were super comfortable and each bed had four super comfy pillows. I love pillows and slept soundly! Easy parking on the premises.
We will return to this Holiday Inn Express in downtown Richmond for all future trips as it was a great value and wonderful experience.

We stay in Richmond a lot and recently have enjoyed staying downtown. This hotel is right near everything, plenty of restaurants, trails to walk on(browns island or belle isle). Hotel was great, breakfast was good, parking behind hotel, rooms were very clean and spacious. Beds were super comfortable, It was a hot day room and was nice and cool. Bathroom was very clean. Didn’t have any problems during stay. Mel as the front desk let us check in early, she was very nice and went above and beyond to accommodate our stay. We will be back and she is one of the reasons, she is the best!

The rooms were gorgeous, with a wonderful view of downtown Richmond. Our suite was huge. Donte at the front desk went above and beyond to accommodate us! We wish we could've stayed longer.

My friend and I stayed here on a Friday night for 1 night and it was a great experience. The staff was really friendly from the front desk people to the cleaning staff and our room was clean when checked in. The beds were super comfortably and I had one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in awhile. Additionally, the parking garage was really convenient and we appreciated the security measures they had in place to protect guests from random people on the street being able to come to any of the guest floors. We only had coffee at the breakfast but from what I saw, there breakfast spread seemed good and there were lots of other people around enjoying the food. I would stay here again if I’m ever in Richmond.

This may have been my favorite Holiday Inn Express that I have ever stayed in. The staff was literally incredible from check-in to check-out. They gave us incredible recommendations and helped us with anything we needed room related. They have a great small gym. Have a small but effective parking garage. They're in a great location with so much around them.

If I am ever back in the area I will make sure to stay here.

First off, my family and I always choose Holiday Inn Express no matter what when traveling- we very much trust and appreciate their higher standards for cleanliness and always feel comfortable during our stay. This particular location was phenomenal! We knew we made a great choice immediately upon checking in, the two gentlemen that helped us check in - Cory and Jason- were exceptionally kind and helpful! They went above and beyond to provide exceptional service and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was great with plenty of choices and great coffee. I would highly recommend choosing this hotel for a stay in downtown Richmond, you won’t be sorry!

The service was great! Every employee we encountered were courteous and friendly! The hotel is either new or recently remodeled. Not sure if we got lucky but the room was large and had great views of downtown. Parking was only 10.00 per night which isnt bad for the area. We'll definitely be back.

The room was nice and spacious, but the AC units would not turn off unless we unplugged them. There was some damage to a wall and the carpet but overall it gave a comfortable and spacious room to rest in. The staff was friendly and helpful and the Continental breakfast was standard but appreciated.

A clean hotel with very friendly staff. My room was spacious and had a safe for valuables. Ideally located with many restaurants and bars just a short walk away.

Had a wonderful stay. Rooms were really clean, the hotel staff were really friendly. Centrally located,it was really convenient location for our purposes. The check in and check out was really easy and the desk staff were very engaging in conversation. I will be staying at this location again.

Good spot close to downtown and Fan District. Easy to get downtown to federal courthouse and state government offices. Rooms are large and seem new. No bar or restaurant on site, but they offer a solid breakfast and gym. Easy to catch an Uber downtown. Stayed there in October 22. Joining IHG club does offer room discounts and late checkout.

The entire hotel staff is top notch. We stay here often and we always receive exceptional customer service. Jason and Michael at the front desk are super welcoming…they always make sure everything is good with our room and asks if we need anything to let them know. I also wanted to shoutout the housekeeping staff who also makes sure the rooms are very clean and tidy. Overall one of the best hotel staff we have ever encountered and we travel pretty often.
