The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing

Full transparency, not a fan of the company that owns Boathouse and Casa del barco. They had some absolutely stupid policies during covid, such as a 20% surcharge. They literally just stopped this policy (2024). With that said, the Boathouse is right on the river, and it is in a great location. Food was well above average and service was outstanding on this visit. They have a great bar and ambiance inside. My wife loves calamari in the calamari there was outstanding.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was perfect! Our waitress was very sweet and she really took into consideration how I’d like my drink made. My cosmo was so good I had three! I had the chicken florentine and he had the blackened salmon. His exact words were “I don’t normally like mashed potatoes but these are some of the best I’ve had!” The waitress also read my ID for my drink and later in the evening brought me a dessert with a candle lit! It was so sweet and we didn’t even have to say anything! The other wait staff was also great, coming to the table to take plates away and bringing my drinks. The atmosphere was so warm and calming and the view was beautiful. Thank you for making my night so special. We have been telling everyone about the Boathouse and plan to come back VERY soon!

What an absolute HOME RUN. Sam was our waiter for the night, what an accommodating fellow. He was attentive and very easy going, knew exactly when to come around to grab things and there was NEVER a question of "Is our waiter coming by soon??"

But seriously, this is my third amazing experience at The Boathouse, but my first time at Rocketts Landing. Beautiful location, beautiful atmosphere, delicious food. THE SHRIMP IS MASSIVE. It's worth it.

Temperature of our food could have been better. My spinach and mashed potatoes were lukewarm.

Dinner at The Boathouse in Richmond, VA this evening was great. Lots of people doing boat ride parties from the docks behind the restaurant. It looks to be a great place for weddings, engagement parties, etc. and last night there were lots of groups enjoying the place.

The food was great starting with the jalapeño cornbread and the spinach and artichoke dip.

The service was fast and we were seated ahead of our reservation. Reservations are definitely recommended! And of course we elected an outside table. It was a little warm but the the views, the food….and the people watching….made it worth it!

I had the shrimp and grits which were perfectly done and tasty! Additionally the salmon, shrimp tacos, salad, and fries were all great as well.

Definitely recommend The Boathouse for a little more upscale dining experience along the river.

Great location, Great food, Great drinks, Great service. Came here with my girlfriend for a date night, and could not have been more pleased with the quality of the food and the ambience. Sam our server was amazing and made great recommendations.

Went for brunch- Daughter's Birthday. Omelets needed salt, very under seasoned. Chicken and Waffles our 13yr old loved. Waffles were nice. A little pricey but for the view and atmosphere, it was worth the smiles and memories. Will.go back to try dinner just because of the atmosphere!

Wow wow wow! This place was amazing. The views were awesome and the food was even better! We had such great service and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience here. We had Lourdes as a waitress and she was super helpful ! She recommended some delicious drink items off the menu and even recommended some great places to visit in Richmond since it was our first time in VA. Lourdes is such a kind spirit and we are so grateful we got her as a waitress! Will definitely come back to this restaurant!

We are visiting from Florida and our first time here. Thomas our server was amazing and very attentive. The food was perfect. Great experience.

We had the Tiramisu Espresso Martini and the Christmas Cookie drinks! They were great and so festive and cute! The tiramisu espresso martini had a Santa on it! The Christmas Cookie came with fun sprinkles on it!
We ordered the oysters Rockefeller, crab/artichoke dip, calamari, and spicy mussels! I would’ve ordered a second order of each! They were delicious!
Courtney was our bartender! We love talking to our bartenders and she was so friendly with us! She’s the type of person that you hope to see every time you come in!
Overall, the experience here was AMAZING!

Great food at all of the Boathouse Restaurants in Richmond. But this one has the others beat on location, views, and atmosphere. Great service as well. The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing fits in perfectly with the revitalized downtown living along the waterfront, with boat slips, and eating places/bars. Check it out!

We tried the Boathouse after getting referred by a friend and it was a great experience! The food and service were phenomenal! Highly recommend for a date night or for seafood lovers!

This was our first visit for Sunday brunch, and it won’t be our last. The food and drinks were great, and Topher at the bar took good care of us. It was a great experience.

i had such a wonderful time, had the chicken sandwich which was so magnificently seasoned. good portion on the calamari. the best part was the service, my server was Drew and i loved her energy. Landon was so nice as well he was one of the runners and he was so polite. 10/10 spot in richmond def a must visit.

We love the Boathouse! We celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary. We had a delightful note at the table and a little champagne toast. Dinner never disappoints and Dante and the rest of the staff were thoughtful and attentive.

I absolutely loved the experience at the boathouse. I’m a travel nurse from Houston here on assignment, so I’m always looking for a new restaurant to go to in a new city. Was recommended by a friend and tried it out. The person attending to me this evening was Shamar and he was EXTREMELY attentive and made sure I enjoyed every single moment of my three course meal. I sat outside. It was a beautiful setting. I’m looking forward to posting about my experience on Instagram. It was definitely a quiet space that I could gather my thoughts, get some amazing food, and be at peace while away from work on my day off. Thank you so much!

Great for birthdays and anniversary was not disappointed at all. Reserved a table online with no issue. Arrived and was seated in a matter of minutes. Nice selection of food and drinks. Nice views of the James river. A lot of seating options for both indoor and outdoor. Will go back again soon. Food was priced well. Elevator is available if needed or you can use the stairs.
