My family and I were recommended to come here and try out this establishment. And I have to give my honest opinion.. this place was amazing!!!! Me, my mother and my sisters came there on a Saturday at about 2:30 so it was during their brunch hours. We were greeted warmly by the lady at the front desk. She sat us down and gave us some refreshing glasses of water. (She turned out to be the manager Angie) but never even introduced herself as that at first just had a beautiful humble spirit. We then had a new waiter named Michael who I believe that has been working there for about two weeks. He was very knowledgeable and shared his experience of actually working where they get their fresh oysters from and now working I’m the restaurant now.

Now to the real reason your reading this review- THE FOOD!!! Delicious is an understatement, everything was so fresh. We all order different things so we could try a variety of things on the menu. Everyone was happy with their dishes. The manager Angie and our waiter Michael would come and check on our table periodically and make sure that we were good with our drinks or anything that we need it.

Highlight for me- I had ordered the oysters not knowing they weren’t even available right now (during brunch) but Angie worked her magic and was able to bring us out some oysters for an appetizer and literally anyone and everyone needs to order these heaven sent fresh oysters!

We walked around the restaurant just to get a look at it and we checked out the patio and the upstairs rooftop deck and the private space this place is a beautiful establishment! It’s a welcoming fun, young, hip but also classy and welcoming to all ages. We are already planning our visit back during the dinner hours.

Going to post some pictures for you guys to look at everything we got (which again was sooo good) and also just want to give a big thank you to the manager Angie and the waiter Michael and even the head chef that stopped by and said something to us as he was walking out. Everyone here on staff is so sweet so kind and really great at what they do I highly highly highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for an amazing place with amazing service!!!

We went for brunch and there were some great options from meat to vegan there was something for every one in our group. The pancakes were a fan favorite and the pecan butter received rave reviews. The space as a whole has a cozy Americana vibe and a larger space is broken into several smaller rooms.

Superb Brunch! Kimchi Hash! One of the beast I’ve ever had. And truly, I am the pickiest! Thanks for great service and great food, and for making our Father’s Day special!

Lily was the most OUTSTANDING bartender I have ever met! Such a sweetheart. I am not one for alcohol, and said “surprise me”. The drink she made was like a sonic cherry limeade. I have never said this before in my life: this is the best alcoholic drink I have ever had. Please stop by and get a drink from Lily. You will NOT be disappointed.

Postbellum is an underrated gem in Richmond, offering a great selection of drinks and food in a unique and inviting atmosphere. This place is all about the vibes. You want a long haired bartender to be involved in your conversation but do it in a non-intrusive, funny, and somewhat cool way? This is the spot for you. You want some way better than average bar food? This is the spot for you, the food is way above average. It's a spot where you can go be you. Be loud on the roof, sit inside and appreciate perhaps the most unique ambiance of any of the uptown bars. This place has its own vibe, its own splash of unique Richmond weirdness. If you're anything like me you'll thoroughly enjoy coming here and catching a buzz with your friends.

We for a work meeting and I had the hot honey chicken sandwich. I thought it would be “spicy “ hot but it was just hot in temperature lol. Luckily they had hot sauce. A friend ordered it too. It was very yummy! They do add a lot of honey so if you don’t like sticky fingers remember to ask for light on the honey! Overall pretty good sandwich and the fries were good too!! I loved their ginger drink 🍹! Great upstairs patio and vibes

Have been twice, the second time for my wife's birthday party and both times we loved the food, the service and the atmosphere! Would highly recommend to anyone and we may make it a tradition to celebrate my wife's birthday there!

3rd time back and was awesome. Left the national in search of food and pulled up to city dogs and the closed the kitchen hella early. Called in Postbellum and dude on the phone said let me know what food you want and I'll ring it in while you walk over ❤ Drinks were good, smoked wings are better than kreggars, truffle fries looked and tasted amazing. Bartender was cordial and had a wonderful conversation with everybody at the bar.

Absolutely delightful atmosphere! The waiter was super attentive and friendly, and knew the menu like the back of their hand. My partner and I had the vegan wings as an appetizer. As a meat eater, I was extremely impressed by the texture, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside like chicken. My vegetarian partner was equally pleased. Besides the appetizer, I had a hot chicken sandwich. It was not exactly spicy in the way I expected, instead it was flavored with honey that had a little zing of spice. Still a fantastic sandwich, I absolutely didn't mind the surprise. Overall, great ambience, delicious food that is veggie-accomodating, and excellent service. Highly recommended.

This is a great place to grab brunch on Sunday! The menu is a decent size and somewhat different from everywhere else. Lots of good local yummy stuff. We've been several times and the past couple Ava has taken excellent care of us. In the past I've tried the mimosa bar which was fun. Also, the cinnamon buns to start (super homemade) are amazing with lots of icing. Definitely worth a try.

Had the vegan biscuit and gravy, it was super tasty! We went during brunch, and had many options.

This is literally my favorite place in all of Richmond. The staff is wildly top knotch. Great music, delicious food. Great service. Upstairs patio bar.... start a tab downstairs, and keep it going upstairs on the rooftop patio. Streamline goodtimes. Definitely check this place out.

First time trying food here and it was incredible! The best vegan chicken sandwich in Richmond for sure. I ordered to go and ordered the truffle oil. The staff was kind enough to include a hand written note warning me that it wasn’t vegan but they put it on the side incase I still wanted it. Delicious food and awesome staff. Thank you for my meal.

Excellent rooftop experience. Busy on weekends but you can make reservations. I recommend doing that. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was perfectly done. Great people, great atmosphere. Can't beat it.

One of the best spots to hit after work. Great little roof-top bar, great prices on oysters too. Tons of space, they can accommodate large parties fairly easily. The food is pretty well up to par, but I'd rather go just for a big selection of happy-hour priced drinks and appetizers.

We used Postbellum to host a private event. First off, the hors d'oeuvres were phenomenal! Second, the waiters, waitresses, and bartenders were truly professional and friendly. Everyone had a great time! 5/5!
