Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

I visited for the first time today and I was NOT disappointed. Derek our server was so kind, knowledgeable and attentive. It's been a long time since I've experienced that level of service. It felt like instant family. The food was hot and delicious. I had the 4 Wing special. The chicken was so well seasoned. I couldn't stop eating it. I'm not sure of everyone's title that worked there, but they came over to check on us and we had great conversations. The food was amazing and service was even better. Im excited to return. The one thing I will add though is that my young daughter had chicken tenders and she said they were too spicy. I should've asked if they would have the spicy seasoning as well. But I tired them and loved them because I love spice. Just something to keep in mind if you take children with you.

I've been to Gus's in Kansas City a few times and it is always very good. This one was also very good.
I decided to try their chicken tenders and it was very good. Tasted fresh and hot, it had the perfect amount of breading. The baked beans are good and tasty, the Mac n cheese was a little too dry but it was good. But the star of the show was the chicken and it was good.
I took mine to go and the server Jaxson was good and helpful.

We stopped by for lunch while traveling through Georgia. Food was fantastic! The chicken was seasoned and spiced just right and crispy but juicy. Macaroni was very good as well as the coleslaw and okra. 10/10 recommend! Service was also very friendly. I wish we had a location in Kentucky!

Great Memphis Chicken place! Their chicken was freshly made, gluten free, low-carb, a tad spicy and absolutely delicious. Even though this is a small chain, EAT LOCAL!!!

Stopped by on the way home to grab a side of mac and cheese to go with my meal at home. The mac and cheese was actually pretty good. Nice and creamy and had some paprika on top. Will definitely revisit!

Update 09/2023: Went back to try out their chicken. I ordered the 2 piece kids meal and the kitchen blessed me with an extra piece of chicken. The chicken had the perfect amount of spice! I threw it in the air fryer for an extra crisp, but it was still good without the extra cooking time. Definitely my new go to spot for chicken now. Of course as always mac and cheese was good!

The food here is always really good. It is reliable and also filling. The portions are good size. If you want a better deal, then be sure to call Gus' directly to find out which specials they have for the day. Or you can just go to the restaurant and inquire with the server. If you order online or through Uber Eats or Door Dash then you won't see the specials posted on those sites/apps. Just passing along a noteworthy point so that you can save money.

A friendly, casual place to grab to amazing fried chicken and sides. The chicken was cooked prefectly, super juicy and with a perfect amount of heat. The baked beans and coleslaw were very good too! The Memphis special is perfect for dark meat lovers. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and polite. I will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

I love this place! It’s my first time coming to this franchise and location. The staff was so welcoming. The environment was wonderful. I got a Togo order of the 4 wing special with beans and mac + cheese along with a slice of sweet potato pie. I came during lunch. The food came out within 10 minutes. The food came fresh out the oven! It smelled wonderful. The beans were ok. The flavor and texture was good, I just prefer mine to be a bit sweeter. The mac was seasoned and cheesy. The fried chicken was ammmmmaazzinng, especially with the hot sauce. The sweet potato pie left me speechless. Ms Diane thank you!!!

Chicken is delicious! No breading just seasoned & fried! Mac & Cheese is so creamy & good. Setting is like an old Cafe but it was clean. We will return!

Really good chicken, very clean restaurant, taking notable effort to social distance and provide a safe dining experience. Take out available. I would recommend! We loved the Louisiana hot sauce on the chicken.

We went on a Friday evening and it was not particularly busy, but the food was absolutely amazing as was the service. We went with our 5 year old and 1.5 year old and the server was so kind and friendly with our kids. Easily the BEST fried chicken I’ve had in my life, and lots of kid-friendly options too. We’ll definitely return!

I had Gus’s for lunch today and I thought the food was fantastic. The chicken was awesome, beans and fries were all great. The service was very good as well, the bad reviews must be from competitors or people with nothing better to do.

This was a recommendation from one of the workers at the Kennesaw depot. I ordered a 2pc dark with okra and Mac n cheese. Hubby got a 2pc white with fries and Mac n cheese. Chicken was good and hot and it was spicy 🥵 Mac n cheese was good as was the okra. Service was a bit slow but not real bad. Prices $$. We enjoyed our meal. I would visit again, if I'm ever in that area.

I was visiting kennesaw and had the pleasure of dining at Gus's! The food was great but what really made the experience great was the service! Everyone was very friendly and helpful and made me feel at home. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the manager was extremely helpful and warming. I think her name was katie Smith and she was very lovely and made it a fun experience for everyone there. I could tell she managed her staff very well and the place just seemed to run smoothly and have an all around positive feel! I hope I have another excuse to visit!

OMG! I just can’t get enough of Gus! I dined in the Metairie, LA location today and baby, Melva took really good care of me.

First, she greeted me and let me know what the $10 specials of the day were. I kind of had an idea of what I wanted. She promptly took my drink order and brought it back to the table. Then she took my order.

I looked down at my phone for a second & looked back up and she was walking my order over. That was fast & the food was fresh and hot.

The chicken, greens, baked beans and macaroni were delicious!! My cup of tea was always full, because Melva kept coming back to check on me. Her pleasant Southern hospitality was like that of my Grandma or Aunt and the food taste home cooked!

Keep up the good food and great customer service Gus Fried Chicken! Will be back for more!! And I’m bringing friends. 😋

Staff is real nice, food is spot on and consistent across the different locations. This seems to be a new location, clean, spacious and like always, real tasty chicken. Fried green tomatoes 🍅 were spot on. Good spot for a quick bite.

Place is super good don't listen to the bad reviews. Not busy at all so you get food and service quick. As soon as the server sat the plate in front of me i immidiately smelled bliss. Had the chicken (which was crispy and juicy) Mac and cheese and the fries, all perfectly cooked and fresh. Everything tastes like it was homemade. Try this place!

Another great chicken dinner! Mac and cheese is fabulous. Coleslaw reminds me of my grandmother's.

The chicken was HOT and crispy, juicy with that slight kick that makes it great!

Mac and cheese was delicious, fresh and oozing with cheese, topped with paprika-?? Not sure, but it is great!

I've eaten at one in Memphis...two locations, New Orleans, and now Kennesaw!

Best chicken place I’ve ever had. All made fresh and sides were great. Staff were super friendly as well
