It was a dark & rainy new year’s day night and I stumbled into Hank Dietle’s completely by accident. Little, I mean Dietle, did I know there are a) real live roadhouses in montgomery county with live musica 7 nites a week and b) every monday night is blues night! There was a powerful wind that night but what blew me away was the new years blues music. Lets just say I was considering making it a dry january but thanks to the blues im gona make it a cry january.

Another excellent place to appreciate live music in a cozy and intimate venue. They typically have live music 7 days a week. Order your tickets ahead, because they will sell out depending on the band. Great selection of beers on tap and in bottles as well as cider s and seltzers. They also have wines by the glass. Also, they have an assortment of comfort bar food. Plenty of free parking. Spacious restrooms and a friendly crowd of patrons. No table service, but very friendly and quick bar service.

My company had our holiday party here and it was EXCELLENT! Great staff and coordination! Shout out to Gina, Sarah, Charlie, Alan and Seth! Also, the catered food was great from Sonia’s Table - (ig: sonias.table) . Also, we had live music play from Little Red & the Renegades and they were SO GOOD. Super sweet people and so welcoming! Also, they have LIVE music 6 nights a week - don’t miss this gem!! It’s a blast from the past in all the right characteristics! A homey, feel good environment tucked away in Rockville. RUN, don’t walk and make sure you check out this spot! You can also check out their website to see which bands are playing and you may want to buy tickets ahead because they do sell out!

Lots of good live music. Place is small and that adds to the atmosphere. Small dance floor, which is well utilized. Nice place , lots of windows, attractive paneling. See their calendar for live music schedule.

Calling it old school doesn't do it justice tbh! Neat , funky , eclectic! And that's just the ppl lol great , great live music , incredible vibe , down to earth folks , both workers and patrons! Food isnt a highlight , just a small bar menu , but it was all well prepared! The ambience and history is worth the stop!

This was awesome! It was my first time here but not my last. Apparently it was granted the first liquor lic. in Montgomery county. I would have like to stay longer and listen to, of all things, Zydeco, would not have imagined I'd here that in MD after moving here a couple years ago from Louisiana, it was nice to hear it and the band was great!!

Went to the Monday Blues show absolutely enjoyed the music, watching the dancing and the delicious apple cider on tap. Great welcoming atmosphere with eclectic furnishings in this small cozy neighborhood bar !

Best place to see live music in Montgomery county!

Great music by Annie and Steve Sidley! They are very good songwriters! We enjoyed their singing, guitar playing, ~ and funny entertainment!

Hank Dietle's is back after years of restoration from the fire. Oldest tavern in Montgomery County and back to bringing great live music to the region. The music is great, the beer is cold, and the roast beef sliders are to die for.

The current owners of Hank's have turned this place around! Great music and a great selection of beer (and always improving food) make this THE place to be to enjoy top acts in the Washington area in a congenial atmosphere. The staff could not not be more friendly and the music could not be better. If your taste runs toward traditional American roots music and its variations, there's no place better and for me, it's almost a second home. Get to Hank's - it's far outgrown it's "dive bar" reputation and is now THE premier venue for dancing and listening to great American roots, jazz, blues, rockabilly, and other classic American music. Love Hank's!

Great place for a private party! Gina is fabulous to work with and our 75 guests all raved about the live music, ambience, and food brought in by their caterer. Strongly recommend supporting this great local place - and enjoying the friendly vibe and impressive musical talent showcased there!

Excellent live music venue. Came with a couple friends to enjoy the singer songwriter showcase. A true musician's club for listening. Great beer options with a clean and modern interior. Rock On!

This is a very unique venue, every night there is music catering for a variety of tastes. We have been a few times on Saturday evening and once on a Sunday. We have enjoyed seeing the Rock a Sonics who alway fill the place. There’s a small dance floor and an assortment of seating. The food is limited but there’s a variety of beers to chose from. Wish we had a place like this in Columbia we would definitely be regulars.

Probably the most fun you can have for miles around... one of the two most pleasant and inviting live music venues I've ever visited in the DMV. The musicians that play here are first rate, and the food and pours are excellent!!!
