Took a tour here and had such a great time. The animals are friendly and adorable; They'll walk right up to you, and you can pet them and feed them leaves! The volunteers are so passionate, and our guide told us all kinds of stories about the animals, their personalities, and how they got there. The people here really care about the animals, and I feel lucky that they opened their doors to us! Looking forward to their events and am even considering "adopting" an animal. ♥🐐🐓🐖🦃🐄

We love Poplar Springs! There is so much natural beauty and many animals to pet. The staff is friendly and answered all of my kids’ questions. Definitely go to one of their events or volunteer to help the farm animals. You won’t regret it !

Had a lovely day meeting some of the residents today. The staff, mostly, if not all, volunteers, are a devoted bunch. So knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly to us visitors. Thanks for all you do.

Huge cows, lazy pigs, friendly goats, cute chickens, loner alpaca, super cute invader groundhog. It was a nice treat. Make you sure you go on Saturdays since the volunteers those says are very helpful, informative, knowledgeable, and nice.

Went here for Thanksgiving with the turkeys and had a wonderful time! I really enjoyed myself and meeting all of the animals. I enjoyed the vegan potluck lunch. I highly recommend visiting!

Great organization full of loving and caring individuals. The animals seem quite happy here. Came here for the annual feed the turkey event. Fantastic all plant-based potluck. Planning to come back for the open house!

They take care of what others have surrendered, discarded, or abused. Our first gift from God was life, our second was the entire created earth with the command to take care of humanity and creation with all of its gifts. Everyday the caretakers of Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary do what God commanded all of us. From love, they tend, feed, protect, and nurture God's gifts that need humanity to heal and protect. A beautiful place doing God's work.

Girlfriend and I loved our time spent here. Owner was super friendly and the farm tour was both informative and absolutely a joy to experience all the friendly animals! It's not everyday you get to pet turkeys, deer, hold a chicken, or feed a groundhog by hand. We'll certainly be back!

This is an amazing animal sanctuary. Animals here include turkeys, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, and goats. The volunteers here really care about each animal that's brought in to live the rest of its life.

LOVE THIS PLACE! First off the animals come up to greet you as soon as you get outa your car. They are loved and cared for, they all have adorable name. I met priscilla the groundhog the day I went and she took a veggie chip right outa my hand. I went awhile ago but I follow them now on social media so I can keep up with all the stories of whats going on. The woman who runs this is amazing. Ive never met someone with a bigger heart or more compassion for the wellbeing of farm animals. I learned a lot when i was there and if you have the oppertunity to swing by do it. Its a really wholesome experience

Visiting the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary was an incredible experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough! The animals living at the sanctuary are farm animals because, as the owner explained on our tour, farm animals are exempt from animal cruelty laws. Some of the animals are much bigger than ones you would ordinarily see at a farm because these animals usually are killed before they can reach their full size. It is a truly amazing and rare sight to see animals like Mikey the 7 year old, 2500 pound steer. During our 2 hour tour, we were able to get up close and pet the beautiful animals while the owner told us each animal's name and their story of how they came to live at the sanctuary. Some of the stories of how the animals were found being abused were truly heartbreaking, but it made it all the more amazing to see how happy the animals were at Poplar Spring and how comfortable and trusting they were around humans. We could tell that the animals were well loved and taken care of. We will definitely visit the sanctuary again and support the good work that the volunteers and staff do.
Note: Be sure to visit the website to schedule a tour or to get information on the next open house.

Second time I've been to the sanctuary, and this time was as a volunteer. The people running/working the facility are great and it's obvious how much the animals appreciate their home. It was also obvious how much the folks at Poplar Spring appreciate volunteers! We were constantly being told what a great help we were and just being praised right and left, which made me feel even more amazing than I already did for helping the animals. Definitely a beautiful place, run by incredible people and a very worthy charity.

What an amazing place. Terry and the team are amazing. We see the happy animals, but we dont see the behind the scenes. You guys are these animals angels.

My son couldn't stop talking about all the animals he met. His dad is overseas serving in the military, he was so happy telling his dad that when he gets older he wants to volunteer.

Thank you for allowing us to experience these little blessings.

We went for the Maryland Farm Tour. They're not normally open to the public, but they have an open house once or twice a year. It was an awesome experience getting to mingle amongst the animals. We pet napping pigs in the barn, visited goats and a giant cow in the field, met the sheep and alpacas in their shed, and even met a very friendly (but wild) groundhog named Priscilla. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable.
