Holiday Inn Express Washington DC N-Silver Spring, an IHG Hotel

Stayed here in mid-February for two nights — loved the view, loved the room, loved the service, and LOVED the neighborhood!

(Pro tip: if you stay in this location, head down Georgia Ave. and get some Ethiopian food — there's a load of places, I have heard that all of them are fantastic, but we ate at Lucy Kitchen and can confirm it's some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten!)

When I say I loved the view: we were on the sixth floor. If you can request a room on the third floor or higher, do so — great views all the way up and down Georgia Ave.

Everyone we met on staff was kind and helpful — especially Neveah, who worked the overnight desk. Neveah made us feel especially welcome: she was warm and engaging during every single encounter.

The only complaint I have is that there was no working phone in room 616. The phone line was just out, meaning calls to the front desk had to be made via our own cell phones, and required waiting on hold as if we were outside callers (rather than guests calling from within the hotel). It seems like that would have been an obvious thing to check and fix before placing guests in that specific room.

Other than that? This was the best stay I think I've ever had in a Holiday Inn Express. Can't recommend it enough!

We had a pleasant stay here. First impression wasn’t good: building appears to be old and the lobby area was very small and cramped. Check in was surprisingly good-we were allowed for an early check in. Room size was decent; bed very comfortable; room was clean and daily house keeping was very thorough. Breakfast was good with different menus each morning. Easy transit to the mall via metro - a short walk to station; or take the #70 bus right in front of the hotel that goes to national Archives for $2 that takes less than 40 min.

The hotel is very very small, and in an area we felt was a little sketchy. We were also shocked to be required to pay $20/day for parking in the lot under the hotel. They said that we could go to the parking lot behind and pay $16/day if we wanted to. We've never had to pay for parking in a lot that was on the hotel property, so that was a bit of a surprise.

Beyond that, though, the place was fine. The staff is absolutely the highlight of this hotel! They were all exceptionally helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic, the tables were clean, and the food was kept fresh.

The room, though, left a bit to be desired. It was quite small compared to most hotels we stay at. However, it was updated and clean. The bathroom was one of the cleanest I've seen st a Holiday Inn Express, and seemed to have been recently updated. Plenty of hot water, the AC (though the old style by the window) kept us cool day and night!

The hall was too warm, cooled only by a small wall unit for the entire hallway, and the elevators barely squeezed 4 average sized adults. But, again, the staff was superb in keeping things clean and running. They are the jewel of this hotel!

Everything about my stay was excellent. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast selection was amazing. And the staff were all friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Beth, the GM! I’ve read through many other reviews and most, if not all, lower reviews are people being picky and impatient. Times are hard for staffing and supply (breakfast included). Yet, this hotel still went above and beyond.

I really liked this place! The room was clean and comfortable. The people at the front desk were really nice and friendly. The complimentary breakfast menu choices were nice. I liked the room service menu as well. The food was tasty and pretty well cooked. I was sick when I was staying here, but the hotel tended to all my requirements in a very friendly manner. I would totally recommend this place to anyone and would likely stay here again whenever I visit.

Great staff. Nice central location. Easy walking to retail and restaurants.

I often stay at this place for work because it is conveniently located to my destination. They offer parking, but the garage next door is cheaper option. The rooms are clean, and the staff are readily available to send maintenance at one time the light fixture stopped working. The front desk are friendly and welcomes guests with smile.

I went with my wife back to visit her hometown and I was surprised.
Breakfast? Amazing only downside is you have to get up early, very convenient. Within walking distance to stores and restaurants. The rooms were spacious, clean, & everything worked. We got a king size, the bed was so soft and comfy we almost slept in everyday.
The manager is professional, I'm certain we will return soon!

Let me say Office Manager Monica made my stay Very excellent! Always a smile from her and her wonderful front desk as I passed by multiple times. Hotel was sold out of certaint room types Monica insured everyone in the lobby had awesome/reasonable hotel accommodations. This location is convenient and serves breakfast. I only stayed for 1 night I most certainly will be back soon when I’m in the area.

This Holiday Inn Express drastically exceeded our expectations. My wife and I are staying in a bunch of different cities for a week long trip to celebrate our anniversary. In Montreal and NYC we stayed in hotels that cost many times per night what this Holiday Inn Express does, but this is the one that treated us the best, by far.

The ladies at the front desk were very warm, friendly, and efficient. The cleaning crew is so motivated that I frequently noticed them jogging up and down the stairs as they did their work. You can tell from the staff that this hotel is managed very well, and the whole team is proud of their work.

The location is wonderful, the room is comfortable, and the staff is incredible. They went above and beyond during our stay in too many ways for me to recount here. I'm definitely going to return here again because of the wonderful way that they treated us.

Smallest closet I've ever seen. But really nice people and pretty quiet

There are wheelchair accessible bathrooms available. Service is available upon request if needed for help with getting the very nice breakfast. Very clean. Excellent staff. Lots of outlets for electronics. Nice fridge, microwave, coffee, ironing board and security box in room.

The hotel is near a large 7-Eleven with many toiletries/snacks if needed. Also, there is a nice park/playground and laundry mat less than a block away. There is a grocery store less than five minutes away. If headed for a family vacation to tour the Capitol it is a great location.

I just wanted to compliment the great person that is working at the desk on the night shift at the Holiday Inn Express Silver Spring. Deborah was my guardian angel that night and I am so glad she was there. I was locked out of my apartment and had no where to go. So the hotel was my only choice. I was very upset when I got there and she made me feel so much better and welcome! I thanked her so many times and she was so polite. I don’t think she understood how much I needed help in that moment and I’m grateful for her assisting me and being so generous in my time of need. Thank you Deborah!!

Great stay. Very quiet and welcoming. Second shift gal was very friendly...gave me a mask to wear because I forgot mine in the truck. She also gave me a sewing kit because the button fell off my jacket. She was very sweet. Room was clean and comfortable.

This is a typical holiday inn - decent beds & a expansive Continental breakfast.

Rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean. Great free breakfast every morning. ALL the workers were very nice and helpful throughout our stay. They drove us and picked us up from the metro every day with the shuttle and we never had to wait for it. Free bottled water was offered each morning as we headed out for the day.

This place is very nice and clean, for a very reasonable price. The breakfast buffet is very good, plus! The manager Ms. Lisa has an excellent business ethics. She's very welcoming to everyone, as I witnessed and she's extremely professional together with her staff. I approached her regarding the WiFi on my laptop, immediately they help me with a big smile. I'm very satisfied for the services I received in this hotel, and I honestly, and highly recommended to everyone to try especially, when you're in a budget.

Family of 4 took a little trip to D.C, we only booked for one night. Enjoyed our stay and trip so much that we booked an additional night. Room and bathroom were spotless, beds were so comfortable, staff was nice and attentive. Breakfast was delicious. Will book again! Only thing was that we had to pay $10 a night for parking, other than that our stay and trip was perfect! Recommend!! If staying here, I also recommend going to Rock Creek Park which is about 10-15 mins away my girls loved that place and the hotel too.

Very clean, non-smoking stayed on the 3rd floor and I was surprised by the attention to detail that the staff showed. The front desk called after check in to see if there were any problems, the housekeeping staff check on the room every day. Its located in a good area close to everything.
Sliver Springs is a very warm and inviting city, I loved it.

We stayed for a week, service was excellent, very clean and friendly. They offered full breakfast that it's included in the price, it was really good and completely full: eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, toast, bagels, cereals, different flavors of juices, etc; coffe and tea available 24/7. They changed the bed sheets every day as wells as the towels. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to DC! Also the location was perfect, really closed to Sandy Spring' Metro station so we went to Washington every day without using our car!
