Awesome vibe, from the moment one steps in. I was greeted like family. Had the hamburger steak plate with coleslaw. It hit the spot. Prices are very reasonable and the the food is great. Hush puppies are a must. Will be back.
And so I'm back. Big cheeseburger today.

Lexington Barbecue always exemplifies what other BBQ restaurants should aspire to. It's all about the Q. We had an awesome meal as usual. Ricky Monk even had an awesome conversation with my daughter about her losing two front teeth recently.

From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. The service was impeccable and the BBQ was hands down some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend if you're in the mood from great service and delicious food. We had the course chopped BBQ platters, onion rings, hush puppies, apple pie & peach cobbler. YUM YUM YUM!

I don’t know where to start! For starters the owner is behind the counter greeting all the regulars and this place literally feels like Family! The food is the best BBQ I’ve ever had in N. C. ! I tried so much but there’s still so much to try! The coleslaw is very unique! They have two house sauces that are to die for!! Hog heaven! If I’m anywhere near here in the future I will be coming in every time!!! Simply said 5 stars aren’t enough!!

My favorite of all the Lexington style bbq places in town. The style is directly descended from Stamey's style, uses the traditional Lexington Dip, pit cooked and the most iconic smokestack in town. I grew up in this town and they treat me like family, that kind of service is hard to come by especially nowadays, and I appreciate it so much. I stopped in for a coarse plate with hushpuppies, theirs are homemade and I think the best in the world if you want to try a real southern style hushpuppy. Pit cooked shoulder generally isnt that smoky flavored but if you get some brown from outside in your coarse cut for example its super tasty, if you want to try some you can always ask. Lexington style, unlike some other barbecue places out west, doesnt burn the outside of our shoulders, traditionally.

I also really love the peach cobbler, and its not just any dessert, its one of the highest rated peach cobblers in the world. The one i had was piping hot and top crust remind me of a churro. The square of icecream dunked into the cobbler was perfectly cold, they ask if you want icecream with it. One of the best simple desserts ive ever had and served perfectly, unforgettable. I also attached some to go meals ive gotten here.

Lexington bbq 1, or locally some people still call it the honeymonk truly is a legendary barbecue place, and a landmark for the tradition of real Lexington style, the capitol of Western Carolina style bbq. In addition to the dip, they also have an excellent table sauce, filled with black pepper and chili powders, its a tangy hot vinegar sauce and goes perfect on pork. The other lexington places dont have this kind of sauce but table sauces like this have a history in the piedmont, Pulliams hot sauce, or Country Barbecue in Highpoint have a table sauce heavy on spices, similar in design from some mexican hotsauces like Tapatio. The lexington smokehouse sauce is so good that Joes Kansas City Bbq has their own version of that sauce called Bubba's hot vinegar, which I also recommend if you ever go to KC.

If you want to come to Lexington and try the real thing, look no further, this is the place!

We came in at 1:30, and boy, was it busy! The food was amazing, even when I incorrectly thought course meant 'just a bit chunky' it actually means cubed. Food was incredible, when it was delivered, the boss came out, explained it to me, and asked if I still wanted it. I said yes!
I did take a couple of bites before I took the pics.
On top of that, we couldn't believe how fast it was delivered to out table! It was like they were waiting for us. The service all around was incredible!
I can't wait to get hungry again.

Had an incredible experience. First time having really true Lexington Barbecue, West North Carolina Style. They were not too busy, sat at the counter. Greeted right away and took my order and the food was out super quick. Amazingly fast. Everything was fresh, meat Was Juicy. Fries and puppies were crispy. Had some Cheerwine soda from the fountain. They were right on point with refills. I asked the nice gentleman behind the counter I believe one owners about peach cobbler to take back to hotel. He packed it up with the ice cream on Ice in a cup and I had it about an hour later and it was just delicious. I could not recommend more highly. Love my experience and looking forward to coming back again.

Excellent service and food. I had the chopped bbq plate with fries, bbq baked beans, and hushpuppies. The fries were fresh and hot and the hushpuppies were the best I’ve ever had. The bbq and beans were both really good too. Will definitely be back.

Finally made it to this legendary establishment and it did not disappoint. Food was great and so was the service. Maybe the best hushpuppies I've ever had.

This was my first time having NC BBQ, and I was thoroughly impressed. The flavor profile was immaculate, and the pricing was quite affordable. The service was also top-notch with a real at-home feel to it. My wife and I will definitely be returning again! Highly recommend to come check this place out.

Took a group of ladies from our community. They had never been and the more I talked about it the more they wanted to go. The food was so delicious and we also had the peach cobbler. Waitress was friendly and food was served promptly. I can't wait to go again.

Lexington BBQ is one of my favorite cue joints in the state of NC. It’s family owned, service is always friendly and attentive and the food is both moderately priced in this day and age if inflation but amazing as well.

The coarse chopped plate with crispy skin is my favorite thing to order. We’ve tried their sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs as well but the coarse chopped plate stand out among the other options. The smoky flavor definitely comes through and the sides of red slaw and fries always match well. Hush puppies for the table are also the right amount for a group.

You can smell the smoke a Mike away and there is plenty of parking in the lot even on the busiest of weekends. Lines can be long inside the door but the tables turn over quickly and conversation at the counter is a great way to get in and out quickly. Highly recommend this place. The owners are cool and take great care in the overall experience.

Now I get it. Lexington BBQ serves a simple menu of good pork barbecue (and a few other things for those who do not care for the Carolina style). Service is outstanding, unexpected for such a busy place as this. Only reason I gave atmosphere 4 stars is because several seating areas had a lot of foot traffic passing by. Great place! (First place I tried in the area was a huge disappointment so I am glad we finally tried this one).

This is the first time, in my 29 years of life, that I’ve ever liked coleslaw.

Oh my goodness, where do I even start? Drove all the way up from Atlanta to try this place, after hearing about it for so many years, from friends, family members, customers, etc. I've even seen them on TV several times, Guy Fieri and "Diners, Drive In's and Dives", the Travel Channel, the Food Network, probably more than that! The food was delicious, the service, more than amazing, the atmosphere, the ambience all contributed to a wonderful meal and a fabulous visit. The owner even came out to bless me with a side of pork right off the grill, I believe. He said he noticed I liked the crispy edges, and that he had just cut these off. They were possibly one of the best items I have ever eaten. Smoky, juicy, tender yet crisp on the edges, everything BBQ should be and then some. I ordered the coarse chopped plate, with red slaw and fries plus a side of beans, because, well, I just love good baked beans, and these were delicious! The hush puppies with crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, just the right seasoning, a perfect complement to the pork. I had never had red slaw before, but the helpful waitress gal was very encouraging, and I'm glad I tried it. All of the service personnel were hopping, keeping everyone happy, and they seemed to know everyone's name. I wish I lived closer. Hey, Lexington might be a good place to retire to one day... Doing all I can to support our local businesses as we get used to this new normal. Please support them, and be generous to your servers, they suffered more than most over the last few years.
