Allen Tate Realtors Blowing Rock

My wife and I were married in, and have been traveling to the Boone / Blowing Rock area for the better part of 20 years. We've been passively hunting for the perfect home or property - so we already came pre-loaded with a lot of knowledge and expectations regarding our demands. We have a good friend in the area who is among the most knowledgeable souls we know about real estate and building a home in the mountains--but he did not have the time to dedicate himself to a full-time search for us; it has been very difficult to put our trust in anyone else but him.

We blindly chose Blowing Rock Investment Properties (now Allen Tate) because they were representing a home that went for sale in which we were interested (not necessarily because of any amount of research we put into choosing an agent). Honestly, I think we got pretty lucky. We were represented by Craig & Cynthia--"Team Carlson".

They were quick to set up a phone call with us to establish a baseline search, and do some discovery surrounding what were our interests and requirements. Subsequently, they created a portal to which we could navigate to find homes that matched our interests. The homes they shared seemed never ending (and our requirements were pretty specific).

While it turned out that we were the ones that discovered (via Zillow) the home that we ultimately purchased, we could not have completed all there was to do on time or under budget without their guidance (we ended up ticking both, ha!). They kept us close to our timelines, guided us on negotiation points and pitfalls, and were very, VERY on top of things. I cannot imagine a more responsive or organized home buying process than the one we experienced. I appreciated their responsiveness and attention to us - via all channels (calls, texts, e-mails) - especially off hours and on weekends, since we work during regular business hours. They availed themselves for visits on weekends, drove us to see several properties, and even posted videos on YouTube at the drop of a hat for us to view when we could not accompany them. Craig even showed me the ropes on the simplicity of winterizing the property (a task that I had already way over complicated).

For their having 11 years experience in the area, I felt very comfortable with the knowledge they possessed (buying/selling in a mountainous region isn't as straightforward as one might think). Engaging and generally fun to talk to, by the time things were consummated we felt more like friends than clients.

They were a class-act through until the transaction was completed, even added a personalized touch with a new set of keys and cute key chain (plus a basket of goodies) for our second home. Additionally, they provided a very organized binder of all of the forms that we had received electronically - divided by category, and also provided a list of service purveyors that they had already vetted - quite useful.

There was something special about having a close-knit "TEAM" to help us navigate things, rather than a singular agent.
