My children and I have been patients for years. Dr. Adkisson is very thorough and explains things easily. I always get a call back when needed. I highly recommend Dr. Adkisson and the staff. We never plan on going to anyone else. Referrals and medications are always called in a timely manner.

I’ve been a patient in the past and my mother has been a patient for years. Very pleased here. Friendly, professional and they listen. Never an issue. Grateful they’re available.

My girlfriend had back surgery she talked to Donna on Thursday 12-14 Donna stated her much needed pain medication would be called in that Thursday it did not get called in on Thursday it is now Friday 7:30 p.m. and still the pain medication has not been called into the pharmacy as a patient of Dr Atkinson's for 20 years you would think there would be better service I believe a composite doctor and staff would have made the decision to call in that prescription given today's time

Let’s start with the fact that the phone starts by going to a recording…then you Never get anyone to answer. You leave a message. They DO Not return a call.
When my son got his appointment, he really liked Dr Joel. His apt was at 3:30pm and he was prescribed an antibiotic we were told was being sent over to the pharmacy we requested.
We waited to hear from pharmacy when ready. At 6:30pm I called the pharmacy, they never received the prescription.
I called the office the next day…left a msg (because no one answers) and hours later, my husband gets a call that we never told them the pharmacy name. He told them to look at the back side of the paper they were taking notes on because that’s were the nurse wrote it…surprise! They had it the entire time.
At this appointment (01/24) my son was also to be referred to a GI specialist.
Yesterday (02/01) at 10am, I went in to the office to find out why we had not been contacted regarding the referral. I was told there were no notes about a referral in his chart but that the Dr would take care of it that day and the receptionist would call me that day to confirm. At 3pm I had still not heard from the office, I went back in (because…phones aren’t a priority to them) and the receptionist said “the Dr is here but hasn’t had a chance, I promise I will call today to let you know either way about the referral”…NO CALL
Today, they finally call and stated they sent a referral, gave me a phone number and apologized for not contacting me yesterday as promised.
I call the GI Dr office…they do not accept patients under the age of 18! Why does the doctor not know this?!
Now…I’ve been trying to call the dr office after tracking down the only office in the Tulsa area that sees minors.
After this referral goes through we are done with this office.
Run…do not even consider this office. It needs new management and staff that cares.
It really sucks because Dr Joel himself was kind, but if he can’t get staff that handles the business, he’s going to lose patients.

Hard to get ahold of this doctors office. Half the time I call no one answers. When I do get an answer I tell them what I need. After a week hear nothing. I have to call and the not even a registered nurse answer and tells me I’m good..

Never calls back with results or to schedule appts and won’t fill prescription without coming in for another visit to collect more copays it’s ridiculous. Says to call back at 1:15 and it’s now 1:30 and phone lines are still on their “lunch break” so stupid.

Donna is great! She was always kind and great to speak with.
However, I will never return to this practice! It took over a month for the nurse to call me back with results of a blood test. The doctor put me on a beta blocker for panic attacks. The last straw was never receiving a call back when trying to schedule an appointment. I tried for over two weeks, left several voicemails, and never received a call back. There are so many better care options out there. If you can go somewhere else, avoid this place.

The physician and blonde woman at the back counter are two of the rudest individuals I have ever encountered. They spoke to us like complete trash. Do business with people that treat others with kindness. Don’t waste a dime at this clinic. Terrible humans.

I do not recommend this clinic to anyone. You can find a MUCH better one in the Broken Arrow area. The doctor is unprofessional and does not know how to do his job properly. He sent my mom to the hospital TWICE because he couldn’t give her the right medication.

Worst doctor ever. Takes his sweet time on getting results back to you and overall isn’t very friendly. Does everything through his nurses and they aren’t much better. I would recommend anyone else in the broken arrow area.

Communication is severely lacking. I was told multiple times over the course of several months now... we'll have to get back to you; still has not happened - which says to me, they just don't care.
Moving on.

I have been trying to call back since Friday to cancel my appointment but on Friday it kept telling me to call back after 1:15 which i was and after that I had to take care of my kids and thearpy and could not call back before they closed. now I am calling at 8:37 am and I am getting the message I get when I call after hours...but they open at 8 am....this is very frustrating...
