Chemn Cafe, a coffee shop

A nice little oasis! The barista was very nice and helpful. I didn’t try the food, but the cold brew w/ caramel was very sweet but yummy! Can’t wait to come back when I’m in town again ☕

This place is Wonderful. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. A must stop if you're in the area.

Friendly & family owned establishment! Always warm smiles when I enter and a cozy, modern ambience :) Wide selection & reasonable prices. Definitely worth stopping in and getting a coffee. I always recommend the seasonal pumpkin spice muffins (they’re amazing!!)

The best chicken salad croissant was absolutely amazing! The lady at the counter was extremely nice and the Chemistry atmosphere was very cool.

The inside is nice and cozy, and the owner and the new trainee are very cool. Tried the pumpkin spice muffin and the iced chai tea latte, loved them both and will definitely be back to try some more things!

Interesting coffee shop. Love the decor, very clever. Very friendly staff and great coffee. We ordered a latte and a Chai latte.

The best coffee in town! Their vibe is AMAZING! The owner is very welcoming and her daughter is super cool too. When you walk in it feels like you are already at home! Definitely stop by and get some friendly conversation with your drink. They have a lounge setup, so you could stay and study while you drink.

Had a great time with my son there as we were passing through town. He ordered the shaved ice and I got an flavored iced coffee. Both were great with great service and the ambiance is excellent. Also the owner was very friendly and made a lot of great suggestions for things to do in town. We both really enjoyed the experience.

A much needed addition to our little town of Elgin. Our town may be small, but their coffee is big in flavor and personality! Austin can keep its Starbucks, we have much better coffee at Chemn.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. They have lots of options for different ways to get your caffeine- Chemex (one of my favorites), French press, americano, or just plain drip coffee if you like to keep it traditional. Of course you have your cappuccino, latte & excellent cold brew options too.

This place is worth going out of your way if you're passing through & looking for better options than Starbucks & McDonalds!

Always puts a smile on my face to walk in & see a coffee shop full of customers, especially in a small town where businesses struggle to stay afloat. I hope they're able to stick around a long time, and from the looks of it, they're on the right path! They have a great niche, with a great unique theme (chemistry). Towns people have welcomed them with open arms. You will see a couple teenagers in line, a farmer sitting at the bar drinking coffee, an artist planning their next piece of art at a table.

There's always locally made art, jewelry, and other products for sale as well.

Loved my coffee and bagel with cream cheese, and because I did so much I left a little note. It a small little shop with friendly staff. I think this will be a every morning coffee run now.

I’ve been to Chemn Cafe a few times and it’s always an enjoyable experience and today’s visit was not an exception! Their card machine was down and the barista at the register kindly let us know that they were cash only at the moment. I luckily had cash so it wasn’t a problem until I spotted their cute collection of stickers! They have a promo of buy their Chemn Cafe sticker, get one free! I didn’t have enough cash on me so one of the other baristas (I didn’t catch their names) said it was on her and gave me the sticker plus the free one! I was delighted; who doesn’t love stickers? I also ordered an iced caramel latte and my husband ordered a hot French vanilla latte and we enjoyed each of our own drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and I look forward to returning and maybe get some studying done with a nice , handcrafted drink!

Chemn Cafe never disappoints! I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and have been hooked ever since. I don’t know which one is better - the people, the pastries, or the coffee! Everything is very reasonably priced. Personally, I think you pay WAY more for coffee that’s overhyped at Starbucks. I usually have to get a TON of sugar and cream in my coffee, but at Chemns I can pretty much drink it without because it’s THAT good.

Great coffee and lattes. Monica, the owner, is super cool and very welcoming. I had an americano and my wife had a latte with beet root. Both were delicious. The cookies are also very good.

Chemn Cafe is cozy, friendly, and has awesome coffee to mix. There's a huge selection of flavors and syrups to add to any cup and if you sit and stay, you can tell it is loved by the locals or passersby alike. I've got to try the paninis or desserts next time! And, there will definitely be a next time!

Best place to get coffee in Elgin. It’s family-owned and operated. They know how to make great coffee and more importantly how to treat their customers with kindness and respect. The coffee shop is bright and relaxing with a touch of luxury. Very cozy & comfy. This will be my go-to whenever I’m in Elgin.

Awesome vibes - loved seeing the periodic table of elements all over the place! Mocha was amazing.
