Excellent food, pricing, and service. Where can you go nowadays at a sit down that's not fast food and get a $4.50 burger! The carne asada plate was excellent. The tinga taco was excellent and the huarache, as told to me, was also great!

Their chips though was the star ⭐. Fluffy, crunchy, lightly salted. Delish!

This place has fantastic food and service. I have recently had dental surgery and can eat only soft foods. I was able to eat the rice and beans and tried two types of soup. The chicken soup was fabulous and the seafood soup was very good. I could not eat shrimp and asked for just fish and they gave me a lot of fish. Atmosphere is not a priority at this restaurant but food and service more than makes up for the lack of ambiance. Highly recommend!! 🙂

Hubby and I just went for breakfast. Good food. He had pancakes I had lunch. Service was great. Go around 8am, by 9am it gets busy

Staffing is always super friendly and you can see the cooks in the kitchen working hard to get orders out asap. Food is reasonably priced and always has the same homemade taste which is why we come here regularly. Family and kid friendly too!

This is our favorite place in Elgin for Mexican food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Don’t let the “Dairy Cream” bldg fool you. Food is delicious, service is awesome, and prices are still affordable. Family owned and operated. If you want to get a table for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday without a 10-15 minute wait, get there before 8:30. Support our local small businesses!

Great service, good food and really chill

I come here for coffee and breakfast tacos almost weekly and it is great! The tacos are unreasonably large for the price and the service is amazing! The staff knows the names of regulars and oftentimes I hear them greet people as they come in the door only to meet them at their table with coffee and/or water. Highly recommended!

This place is always spot on with the food. I only ever get the cheese enchiladas because they are my absolute favorite but they make them so well here. You receive 3 enchiladas per plate and their consistency is perfect. The place itself is adorable and reminds me of your typical hole in a wall, it needs some updates and renovations but nothing matters when the food tastes THAT good. The staff are super friendly as well! They have yummy little cookies and sweets at the counter I definitely recommend getting some, we got the strawberry cookies and they are divine! The place is small but their heart is big I'm happy we have a restaurant like this in Elgin. ❤

Had my first date night with a few of my very good mom friends. Service was good, quick and food was great. The place was clean and made for a nice girls dinner.

Excellent food!! New to the area and this has been the first place I have found to serve SPICY Mexican food. Their alabre tacos were not traditional (beef instead of pork) but the flavor made up for it! Their salsa was great as well and the staff was on top of making sure your table stayed clear and your drinks stayed full. The Family owned atmosphere made you feel like no menu choice would have been a bad choice. I would definitely recommend; we will be back!!!

So obsessed with Azteca, the food, Lala (the owner) and everyone else who is employed here! My fave breakfast place and I will never not recommend Azteca when someone asks where to go!

I had breakfast with a friend. The food was great and they kept my coffee topped off.
It is a great place to eat and meet. I wear hearing aids and even with the restaurant full, I could still hear everything my friend was saying.
If you have not tried it, you must put it on your list.

Love this place. Super authentic food at a reasonable price. My favorite is the El Pastor, it's my go to dish but honestly, I've never had a bad meal from this restaurant. My family and eat there at least once a week. They also have great breakfast tacos too.
