I have loved my experience so far! Everyone is extremely kind and welcoming and calming. Dental work is never fun, but they are fast and efficient. I also really like the fact that I can adjust appts or make new ones and don’t have to wait months. I was presently surprised that my insurance ended up covering some of the basics. The integrative and holistic approach is probably why my experience has been so good. They don’t look at me silly for health things I’m doing and even validated some of my decisions because that is also what products they recommend!

Great building location parking is valet. Office is run efficiently stays on time with scheduled appointments. Not a huge fan of dentist but Shira is amazing makes the appointment less stressful! Scheduling appointments is easy and they have accommodated my scheduled due to work/sickness and rebooked pretty quickly.
They do bill your insurance and offer additional screening and health testing.

Would definitely recommend for anxious patients if you are afraid of the dentist or new to Dallas.

Going to the dentist is not something one would normally look forward to doing, but, in my case, just the opposite is true when I am scheduling a visit with Dallas Functional Dentistry. The reason is in large part due to my hygienist Adriana. On a personal level, Adriana is warm, welcoming, and thoughtful. She makes the experience actually enjoyable as we talk, laugh, joke, and enjoy each other's company (at least I enjoy her company...:)). On a professional level, Adriana is preeminently skillful, extremely knowledgeable, and passionately dedicated such that I am always confident I am receiving the best hygiene care possible. She always takes the time necessary to answer/research all of my questions and provides updates on advances in hygiene care as well as gives practical tips on how to best protect your teeth and overall health. She is totally absorbed in ensuring the well being of her patients and that focus shows every time I am with her. In sum, I recommend Adriana to anyone looking for a highly qualified, highly motivated, and highly skilled hygienist.

For many years I neglected my oral health because I hated going to the dentist, and then I found Dr Poteet and I haven’t missed an appointment since. I can’t say enough good things about my hygienist, Shira! She takes exceptional care of me and I feel like I’m going to visit a friend each time I go to the dentist. She truly cares about her patients and makes recommendations on easy things I can do to better take care of my teeth and overall health. Great dental office. I absolutely love Shira the hygienist. She does a great job on my teeth and does it with a fun and friendly personality. She also usually has some great advice to help with my dental health. She makes going to the dentist not a dreadful experience.

I've never actually looked forward to the dentist until I started seeing Dr. Poteet and specifically Shira, the dental hygienist. I truly had no idea getting my teeth cleaned could be fun and chatty and foster connection and then Shira came into my life and my whole world changed! She is incredible and so is the entire office!

This is a return visit and as in my previous experiences. I was seen at the appointed time. The staff was courteous and professional. All of my questions were clearly answered.

Adriana is amazing and a wonderful asset to the team! When I was pregnant and more prone to gum disease and cavities, Adriana saw me frequently and made sure that my gums and teeth were healthy. She is so sweet and a complete joy to see. Thank you Adriana!

Shira, hygienist, is also a godsend with her Swiss technology cleaning system ensuring deep cleans with no irritating scraping and picking so typical of all competitors. If you have teeth, this is the place they need to go.

First off I want to say how nice and wonderful everyone at Dallas Functional Dentistry is. The other thing I wanted to mention is about Shira, one of the dental hygienists. She is very knowledgeable about dental health as well as other health issues. She talked me into doing a sleep test, a home test that DFD provides. The results changed, if not saved my life. Dr. Poteet and her team explained my results that showed I had severe Sleep Apnea. They referred me to a Sleep Doctor who confirmed the results. Now I sleep better than I have in years.

Shira Newman is the best Hygenist in the world - and I've seen a few in my lifetime. In fact I first saw her in NY in the 2010's and I followed her to Texas. If she moves anywhere else, I will either relocate again, or fly to see her for my six-month checkups. I look forward to my cleanings and going to the dentist because of Shira. I shock my self I'm writing this given my life-long fear of being in the dentist chair - so afraid that I used to need "laughing gas" to be able to handle simple cleanings. With Shira's direction and guidance, I stopped using laughing gas, graduated to listening to music through headphones, and now I don't use anything at all. I attribute this development to her gentle touch, genuine care and attention, and the trust that she engenders in you. The best dentist office hands down. Dr. Poteet is the only dentist I will see for the rest of my life. If she ever retires, I'm showing up at her house so get ready.
